  1. I think we would know what state Sikhs would be in a muslim majority indian punjab we just need to look at condition of our oppressed and brutalised Sikh brothers and sisters in afghanistan, pakistan and kashmir But what about if it became a christian majority state what would be the consequences for the safety and security of Sikhi and Sikhs?
  2. I've noticed something about christian missionary vultures with their relative recent surge in activity in punjab from 1990s. What they couldn't manage by force and invasion in 1800's with the racist white christian british empire and brutal troops ruling over them they are achieving with indigenous punjabi evangelical christian pastors preaching to the masses freely and unhindered by any authorities. These missionary christians slowly groom the unsuspecting naive sikhs and other punjabis telling them Jesus is a guru too and eventually tell them that jesus is only Guru and then he is God they must exclusively follow. That they must reject their previous faith, culture and customs. If they do not their soul will go into hellfire as they will be seen as sinners who rejected Jesus. It seems something has changed in punjab and the punjabi character in being so secular and liberal allowing abrahamics to invade their minds whereas in previous generations they would have thought it unthinkable to become a christian it would have seen something of a embarrassment of choosing the religion of your oppressor. And the missionaries would not have dared to try and convert Sikhs in punjab especially with them telling our people secretly and openly our religion is from the devil and we are all going to hell if we do not become Christians. Have we become too tolerant too soft?
  3. So i came across this documentary type video on youtube quite interesting information I hadn't know before.
  4. On the main page of this very forum there are regular threads asking for the 'best ways to convert' others to Sikhism. I read them, but of course I can't post in them, and I wait for someone to ask why we need to spend time and energy converting others. That alternative viewpoint never comes, hence this thread. Now, it's really not that many years since I became a son of my Guru and since I have been every moment of my life has been spent trying to uplift myself to his standard. Trying to improve and cleanse my own mind, body, soul and actions. This is a never ending task and I really don't think the day will ever come when I will have achieved perfection and so can devote time and energy into 'converting' others. As long as those others are not doing truly hurtful things to humanity such as child abuse, murder, thieving etc I consider all of them decent human beings...or at least as decent as I am. So where does this need in some of you to convert others come from ? We know Christians and Muslims actively try to convert Sikhs but that's because it's part of their religion to do so. When they do so I always think to myself how unloving these people must be that they seek to convert others instead of spending that time cleansing their own souls. Just because they do it - it doesn't mean we should do it too. Just because they do it - it doesn't mean its the right thing to do. My own personal view - and I maybe wrong about this - is that one who tries to conquer other souls surely has not yet conquered his own for once he conquers and then understands his own he begins to understand the love and goodness that permeates between all mankind and how the idea of conversion strategies themselves goes against this grain of goodness. This is my view. Tell me yours ?
  5. Not sure if anyone has seen this video before or if this is a genuine Sikh. Absolutley discraceful
  6. Thursday, July,25 2013 - 11:43 AMRITSAR: A delegation of Muslim representatives has met Jathedar Akal Takht Giani Gurbachan Singh on the issue of alleged conversion of Sikhs into Islam by former DGP Mohammad Izhar Alam. Sources reveal that the delegation comprising Usman Sadiq, Suleiman Josh, Mohammad Hanif and twelve others from Malerkotla visited Jathedars residence and denied conversion of Sikhs into Islam. All India Sikh Students Federation president Karnail Singh Peermohammad had last week submitted memorandum to Jathedar alleged that the former super cop was actively involved in converting Sikh children of poor farmer families to Islam. He had flayed Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and Akali government for its inability to stop such conversions. Demanding inquiry into the conversions, Peermohammad had also asked the state government to prevent such malpractice. The Muslim delegation said the names of Sikhs mentioned by Peermohammad were actually never Sikhs but those Muslims who were left in India during partition and had become Sikhs to save their lives. Jathedar confirming the meeting with Muslim delegation, however, kept mum on the discussion with the delegation. AISSF president Peermohammad while talking to Punjabnewsline said, the meeting of Muslim delegation with Jathedar confirms his allegations of alleged conversions. He questioned even if those converted to Islam were Muslims before partition why their children or even they are being converted 66 years after independence. Peermohammad said he had deep reverence for all the religions but such conversions were intolerable. Being a Sikh, I have raised my concern with Jathedar Akal Takht and done my duty. Now Jathedar Sahib, SGPC, Dharam Parchar Committee have to further pursue the matter and take action in the benefit of whole community. 7. How would life change for you? for the better or worser? Seeing the increasing drive by muslims to convert non-muslim to islam by deception and sweet talk and not letting the freedom of muslims to leave islam. While other religions sit on the side lines apart from Christianity in pushing forward their agenda... what would happen to life as you know it under a muslim majority regime?
  8. HT Correspondent, Hindustan Times Jammu, May 24, 2013 First Published: 18:38 IST(24/5/2013) Last Updated: 18:39 IST(24/5/2013) The Jammu Province Peoples forum (JPPF), an amalgam of more than 50 organisations of Jammu province, has urged the state government to provide full protection to the Sikh minority in the Valley facing threat perception and conversion. JPPF president Pavitar Singh warned the fundamentalists to resist from creating disturbance and law and order problem. He said the Jammu province, irrespective of cast and creed, was standing behind in support of the Sikh community in Kashmir and these anti-national elements will never be allowed to succeed in their antinational activities. JPPF has decided to send a fact-finding mission to visit the affected families in the Valley to find out the actual factual position on ground.
  9. I have seen Sikhs answer many Christians, Hindus, Muslims etc. raising points on Sikhi and spreading misinformation about Sikhi but isn't it time that we should make pages answering pages like these: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Dont-call-me-Indian-I-am-a-Sikh-from-Khalistan/218854928190410#!/Islam.Sikhism They do not look at their own religion and most of the articles on Sikhi are biased and have only what the author thinks. He has taken a few words and expanded on them rather then looking at the whole, line incident, shabad etc. Also one gets the impression the author Abu Adeeba seems to support conversion of Sikhs through lieing, intimidation etc.
