  1. Should it or not? The obvious answer most of you will reply with is Sikh migration to UK, Canada, USA, etc., but that's because the Punjab we know is still hovering in the back of our consciousness. We know it's there even if we aren't connected to it directly. But what if Sikhi's link to Punjab was severed definitively? What would we lose as a people? What would we gain? Is it necessary for a spiritual or religious movement to have physical, material roots in a specific geographic location, or is the only important consideration the ideology itself? I'm not quite certain which
  2. HI all, I am looking for someone whom I can ask Sikhi question to? I have questions about diet and history in sikhism and would like to discuss it with someone knowledgable and qualified. The questions involve eating meat, drinking, and sex from a scientific perspective and historical perspective I am also looking for someone whom I can debate with on Sikh Channel TV on these issues.
  3. NOTE: This post is a work in progress Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Often times I hear Non-Sikhs bring up common arguments against Sikhi, and as someone who likes to create a lot online resource hubs for Sikhs, I am taking it upon myself to create a list of Q/A's. I recently got a series of arguments (posing as questions) from an anonymous user on the Sikh Reddit who was allegedly Ex-Sikh. He frequently made references to Islam, and also claimed that he had done a lot of research on his "questions", yet the questions themselves seem as if they are taken from wi
  4. Why are these forums so inactive? Why are there only a few new posts every day? Why do most threads flop? With all of the issues that our community faces, I would hope that there would be many lively discussions, and regular, vigorous, intelligent debate. Instead, I find that I only have to visit this place once every few weeks to keep up. Is there some other place with a more lively debate about Sikh issues? Or does the lack of activity in these forums reflect the general sad lack of interest in Sikhi these days? By the way, it doesn'
  5. As per this link by veer Singh559 , people who speak against dasam deserve to to be shot dead ? Guru sahib will be very happy with such talibanised 'sikhs' ? Had these goons attacked someone like dhunda or panthpreet singh, people here will be cheering and doing jakare ? Remember Aurangzeb ? He persecuted people for their beliefs and remember Guru Tegh bahadur - who stood up for their rights even though his own views were materially different from the hindus . In Gurmat voilence is permitted only to prevent further voilence , e.g taking out indra or Beanta was ok . Update 9pm 21.05
  6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JaLqWtIN2aY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyoLuTjguJA What are your views? Should they ban AR's and other kinds of guns? Personally I agree with Jesse Ventura's views that we shouldn't ban guns as that is what the established elite want to solidify their power over the people. If you look at history in relation to gun control, you'll see a pattern of restricting guns before genocide or tyranny occurs. What confuses me is why a bunch of hippy Sikhs i.e. the Sikh Coalition support the banning of guns. I feel like the Sikhs who support banning of guns here in U
