  1. Ever since Dhandrianwala became a missionary, he has now become the favourite of missionaries worldwide. He is like their new hero. Before, it was Dhunda who was the undisputed champion of missionaries. But Dhandrianwala has now claimed this position. For Dhunda this means he is now in less demand as he was before. He has probably felt that as well, especially when it is your only source of livelihood and income. But Dhunda is having no more. He has lashed back. Just look at how he is speaking of Dhandrianwala.
  2. The sangat that listens to Dhunda speeches should pay attention to the first 4 minutes of the video very closely. After watching the video did you catch the deception he played with you? Rewind the video to 2:20 and you hear Dhunda saying couple of lines of Gurbani to prove his point. Right afterwards he says these lines are on ang 732 of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji. I became curious to read the whole shabad and opened up ang 732 of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji. I read the shabad and no where can I find the first line raam raam karathaa sabh jag firai raam n paaeiaa jaae in Raag Sohee written by Sri Guru Raam Das ji on ang 732. Instead I found the above line on ang 555 in Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji Maharaj and is in the shabad of Sri Guru Amar Das Ji in Raag Bihaagraa. So please ask yourself, why did Dhunda join two lines together of Gurbani which don't come after each other and say they are on ang 732? Is your loyalty with Dhunda higher or with presenting Gurbani as Guru Sahib wrote it?
  3. slowly and slowly they are going to preach against guru granth sahib ji. these people are becoming a strong cult by attacking our main principles while our "suppose to be caretakers" of takhts and jathedars are busy in collecting maya.
  4. Chaos erupted inside Turlock Gurdwara Sahib in California after a Taksali Singh asked Prof Sarbjit Singh Dhunda a question on Dasam Granth. The question revolved around the maryada of Akal Takht Sahib on Dasam Granth and whether parcharaks are allowed to protest against it. After the question was asked a person with Sarbjit Singh Dhunda somehow felt offended and walked out of the Gurdwara. Sikh sangat became upset on why the question wasn’t fully answered and the urge to leave. Some members of the sangat felt Prof Dhunda was corned on the topic while some said he avoided the questions. SIKH24 OP/ED Do you believe that Professor Sahib Singh’s teeka is the best ever written on Guru Granth Sahib Ji Dhunda: Yes Do you believe that everything written in Guru Granth Sahib Ji is true or not? After some thought, Dhunda answers yes. Do you believe in 8.4 million lives and if there is a life after death or if the soul continues its journey? Dhunda is not able to answer this because he believes there is nothing after life and God has only created us to be better human beings. Dhunda’s explanations are then questioned by references from various shabads in Guru Granth Sahib. Over and over, it is mentioned that there is an after life and what we do, we will have to repent. After this was the biggest question - Do you believe in the super natural concepts mentioned in Guru Granth Sahib Ji? And do you believe that these were just written or those events actually took place? Dhunda answers, however he tries to be smart. He questions that how can a fish go in the air and how can a cow be back alive after it was dead? Responding to Dhunda’s questions, Singhs mention that Professor Sahib Singh and other scholars have all said and interpreted those gurbani verses in the way that those incidents have occurred just how they have been written. S. Kulwant Singh states that if God wants, anything is possible. So if that means the cow was alive again according to Gurbani, then it was, because God made that happen to show and honor the protection of his devotees. After this, Bhai Amarbir Singh from Manteca asked the following question - Does any Sikh parcharak have the right, according to Akal Takht Sahib to openly condemn Sri Dasam Granth? Dhunda asks that the Singhs provide him proof where he has gone against Akal Takht Sahib. Amarbir Singh mentioned that Dhunda has done so many times and there are many recordings. However, during the debate, Dhunda then cleverly changes topic and Balraj Singh, Dhunda’s main sponsor from Patterson gets up and says this was not part of the debate today. Singhs however stated that we are not asking if Sri Dasam Granth is right or wrong, it is only asked if according to our Akal Takht Maryada, is it right to condemn Dasam Granth. After this, Dhunda and his supporters get up try to leave the debate. However, Singhs pose the next question - Do you believe that doing Waheguru Simran is a waste of time and if that had any meaning for the after life. In response, Dhunda pauses for a moment, and then finally answers that Simran is only for us to get a peace of mind here in this world and that he doesn’t know if it has any meaning after since he has not died yet. Singhs insist that over and over, Guru Granth Sahib Ji answers this there is a meaning and without the recitation of God, no one will find the door of liberation at the God’s court, unless God chooses otherwise. So that being, what right does Dhunda have to say Waheguru Simran is pretty much a waste of time? Conclusion These were the basic questions Dhunda could not answer because he does not believe in these concepts. While is it is of utmost important to live a perfect life, it is important to also live life in a way as prescribed by the Gurus, ie. by recitation and understanding of Gurbani and by doing naam simran, keeping rehit, etc. If after life was not important, then why wear a dastar, keep a beard, keep rehit, take amrit?
  5. here is a very interesting article i came across http://www.sikhsundesh.net/gurugranth.htm where an anti dasam supporter is arguing with a namdhari over the issue of "wether gurgaddi was given to guru Granth Sahib Ji by guru Gobind singh Ji" the anti dasam supporter - charanjit singh bal uses sources to prove that guru granth sahib jis is the final guru that also support that guru gobind singh ji wrote dasam granth i will post some extracts.... please see above link for full conversation It is interestign to note that the writer (charnjit) has similar views to dasam bani as the namdhari has to guru Granth sahib ji THe key is what I have highlighted in RED - the sources he uses to prove gurgadhi was given to Guru Granth Sahib ji also support Dasam Bani was written by Guru Gobind Singh ji as they reference, mention and quote extensively from dasam bania like bachittar natak Bhai Nand Lall, - in rehitnama mentions japji sahib and jaap sahib for morning prayer Bhai Senapat, (Dasmesh Guru’s court poets)1711, mentions Conversation of Guru Gobind Singh and Akal Purakh, and written three of it's Adhyay on base of Bachitar Natak. Bhai Chaupa Singh - quotes various lines from Bachitar Natak, 33 Swiayey, Chopai Sahib, Jaap Sahib. Bhai Desa Singh (infant Guru’s Baby Sitters/nurses) Bhai Sukha Singh - mentioned compositions of Guru Gobind Singh in rehitnama Bhai Koer Singh - mentioned most of Banis written during time of Patshahi 10 Bhai Kesar Singh Chiber -mentioned history of Compilation of Dasam Granth by Bhai Mani Singh Khalsa on directions of Mata Sundri, as he was first who wrote history after death of Guru Gobind Singh. says that Dasam is younger brother or shota granthand guru granth is older and got the gurgaddi. Giani Gian Singh - in panth parkash writes that Bhai Mani Singh accepted the orders of the panth And he collected the banees of the Dasam Guru and Compiled in one bind also reference this article from Gurinder Singh Mann - http://www.sikhscholar.co.uk/2012/10/historical-sources-on-guru-granth-sahib.html which also highlights that the sources that prove guru granth sahib jis bani also support dasam bani. so the anti dasam crew are using literature that supports dasam bani - to prove on one hand gurgadhi is given to guru granth sahib ji yet they ridicule the same sources when it comes to Dasam Granth - this is surely the biggest hypocrisy and clearly maligning historic sources when it suits them...... --------------------- folowing is brief extract from the conversation Namdhari Gurbaksh Singh Charnjit (Anti Dasam) Namdhari Gurbaksh Singh Charnjit (Anti Dasam)
  6. http://www.panthic.org/articles/5488 (full article) After the meeting with Dhunda, PANTHIC.ORG sewadars along with accompanying Singhs approached the committee representatives and reiterated that Dhunda, who is being referred by his promoters as a “ਨਿਧੜਕ” (fearless) scholar and kathakar, is neither fearless and not a scholar, but a coward who is not even willing to admit Guru Gobind Singh Ji wrote three of our Nitnem Banees and not willing to honestly and directly answer our queries. In summary, Dhunda failed to answer any of the questions posed to him in a candid manner, and : Did NOT accept Sikh Rehat Maryada's Kirtan requirements and offered no apologies for twisting the Rehat Maryada's language. Did NOT accept Sikh Rehat Maryada and Mahan Kosh's Definition of Gurbani Did NOT accept Guru Gobind Singh Ji as the author of Sri Jap Sahib, Twaparsaad Sawayay, and Chaupai Sahib Nitnem Banees. Did NOT take responsibility for purposely associating with anti-Panthic individuals who were ex-communicated from the Sikh Panth. Did NOT accept Sri Akal Takht Sahib's HukamNama's prohibiting the criticism of Sri Dasam Bani, including popular shabds as: "ਦੇਹ ਸਿਵਾ ਬਰ ਮੋਹਿ ਇਹੈ" and continued to criticize them. http://www.panthic.org/articles/5488 (full article)
  7. Dhunda is starting his surrey bc tour on sunday at dasmesh darbar.
  8. Many people had lost track of where Dhunda went and many people didn't know where he dissappeared to during all of the commotion during his USA tour. Well, first of all, he slipped under the radar and seemed to gain more ground with no one even knowing. He went back to Seattle (USA) first of all. http://www.gurmatgian.com/2013/01/22/settle-usa-katha-bhai-sarbjit-singh-dhunda/ Then he went to New York (USA) for approximately 7 days. Now by Jan 28th 2013 he should be travelling to his next destination. Let's see where that will be... http://www.gurmatgian.com/2013/01/21/news-ssdhunda-usa-samagam-verva/ One interesting point. In the seminar which was on Jan 26, 2013....he teamed up with Harinder Singh (Texas) of Sikh Research Institute. I have seen Harinder Singh speak at many different events in many different locations. He has even went to Canada and gave a very emotional and powerful speach about 1984/Sikh Rights at Sri Guru Singh Sabha Malton. This Gurdwara is a very Taksa/Nihung/AKJ/Sampardaa/Udasi, Baba Hari Singh Randhawa, Naap Japnaa, Suraj Prakash Kathaa, Sangraand, etc, friendly Gurdwara and is despised by the missionary base in Toronto. Yet Harinder Singh Texas still speaks there. Now, on the other hand, he spoke right before or after Dhunda at the seminar in New York and is promoted on the same poster/flyer as him as well. Is it just a coincidence or there a connection? Or maybe it's the missionaries being smart and aligning themselves with people who are generally accepted and respected everywhere? The same way the missionaries are always talking about Bhindranwaley, Rajoana, Bhagat Singh, Bhai Taru Singh, etc, etc... The same way they hold conferences and also have Dr. Harshinder Kaur (MD, Patiala, India) speak. She is very well known throughout Punjabi media around the world as she has always talked about female feticide and stood up for women's rights and is very soft spoken. So in the same way, does she have a connection with the missionaries or is it a coincidence or are the missionaries using her status/respect in order to gain more popularity? It's very interesting how more and more people are siding with the missionaries. Things are getting very complex now. Stay alert. My guess is that if Dhunda is not travelling within the USA, then he will be travelling to Canada. So Canada Sangat needs to stay aware and ready. Canada is the missionary, Darshan and Kala-Afghana's stronghold. So be prepared. How could Dhunda have went all around New York (a major place in USA) and no one here was even able to figure it out. Come on guys, wake up...they're gaining more and more ground every day with the general Sangat through their sweet talk and Gurdwara managements drooling for money.
  9. This is just some of the articles/videos. Who has this much time on their hands? Who gets paid to write all of this? Where is the funding and staff/employment coming from? Who is the RSS? Hmmmmm....... If RSS exists.....it has to be these missionaries/kala-afghanis/guru granth da khalsa panth people. These guys are absolutely pathetic. That's all they do. Put others down and create trouble/controversies/divisions. Save all of this,,,,as they are notorious for taking things down and acting as if they did nothing in the first place.
  10. http://www.gurmatgian.com/2012/12/26/recording-room-26-12-2012/ Read the comment section too. One person wrote: "Kar deo kam shuroo Guru Granth Sahib Jee dee pooree viaakhiaa daa". Stay alert. Oh yeah, and don't forget to save all of this, including the pictures. Especially the one of Dhunda and Thailand.
  11. http://panthic.org/articles/5483 PANTHIC.ORG | Published on December 30, 2012 SAN FRANCISCO (KP) - Sarbjit Dhunda, the controversial missionary preacher, who not long ago was summoned and reprimanded by Sri Akal Takht Sahib for making derogatory statements about Gurbani kirtan recited at Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar, has again become the center of controversy as he continues to malign and distort the sacred Bani of Guru Gobind Singh Ji enshrined in Sri Dasam Granth Sahib. On February of 2012, Sarbjit Dhunda appeared at Sri Akal Takht Sahib in front of the five Singh Sahibans and asked for forgiveness for his transgression. According to Giani Gurbachan Singh, the current installed Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Dhunda assured the Singh Sahibans that he would refrain from making such remarks in the future. Dhunda has also denied being the voice behind the an older video posted on YouTube by his own cohorts in which he is clearly heard making insulting remarks on the verses of Sri Jaap Sahib. News Coverage on Dhunda's Punishment in February 2012 In return for his appearance, Dhunda received a mild “tankhah” (religious penance) for the sacrilegious remarks about Sri Darbar Sahib Kirtan, but no less than four months later he again restarted to spew venom against the sacred Bani of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and in a June 5th speech at Nagpur, Maharashtra, he claimed that kirtanees in the Sikh Panth are continually violating the Sikh Rahit Maryada by reciting verses from Sri Dasam Granth. – Sarbjit Dhunda (June 5th, 2012 – Nagpur) Dhunda claims that the Sikh Rahit Maryada only allows recitation of verses from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Bhai Gurdas Ji’s Kabits/Vaars, and Bhai Nand Lal Ji’s Gazals during kirtan. Dhunda, who often ridicules and chides other kathakars as being “ਗਪੌੜੀ ਸਾਧ”, shows his true colors by distorting and twisting the wording in the 'Kirtan' section of the Sikh Rehat Maryada. The actual statement is as follows: (ਸਿੱਖ ਰਹਿਤ ਮਰਯਾਦਾ) Nowhere is it mentioned in the Sikh Rahit Maryada that only Gurbani from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji can be recited – in fact – only the word “ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ” is used as the condition. According to the Mahan Kosh (The Encyclopedia of Sikhism), Gurbani connotes to the Sacred Bani revealed by the various Roops of SatGuru Nanak Dev Ji to Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ : ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ (ਮਹਾਨ ਕੋਸ਼) For centuries, the sacred Gurbani revealed by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji has been recited at all Sikh Takhts, and Gurdwara Sahibs, never has anyone questioned the validity of this recitation.Disparaging Remarks on Sikh National Anthem In another video, at a different venue, Sarbjit Dhunda claims that the well-known Gurbani verses “ਦੇਹ ਸਿਵਾ ਬਰ ਮੋਹਿ ਇਹੈ ਸੁਭ ਕਰਮਨ ਤੇ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਨ ਟਰੋਂ ॥“, which are often referred to as the “Sikh National Anthem”, are not the work of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, and that these verses promote the worship of Hindu deity Shiv Ji. The above comments illustrate Dhunda’s utter lack of understanding the depth of Guru Sahib's Divine Gurbani - this is not at all surprising since this Dhunda barely has a high-school education, and despite having no higher-level education, he continues to refer to himself as a "professor". Had Dhunda spent some time reciting and studying Gurbani, he would not be making these foolish claims. Guru Gobind Singh Ji clearly declares in Beni Chaupai: ਤਾ ਕੌ ਕਰਿ ਪਾਹਨ ਅਨੁਮਾਨਤ ॥ਮਹਾ ਮੂੜ੍ਹ ਕਛੁ ਭੇਦ ਨ ਜਾਨਤ ॥ The great fool thinks that God is a stone. But he does not know the difference between the two. ਮਹਾਦੇਵ ਕੋ ਕਹਤ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਵ ॥ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਕਾ ਚੀਨਤ ਨਹਿ ਭਿਵ ॥੬॥ He continues calling Mahadev as the Eternal God (Shiv). But he does not know the secrets of the Formless God. (Benti Chaupai – P:10) Furthermore, Guru Arjan Dev Sahib Ji reveals in Raag Todee: ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਹਾਟਿਓ।। ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਏ ਦਇਆਲਾ ਸਿਵ ਕੈ ਬਾਣਿ ਸਿਰੁ ਕਾਟਿਓ ॥੧॥ The Supreme Lord has become merciful; with Lord's arrow, He has sliced off his head. ||1|| Guru Nanak Dev Sahib Ji reveals in Raag Ramkali: ਸਿਵ ਨਗਰੀ ਮਹਿ ਆਸਣੁ ਅਉਧੂ ਅਲਖੁ ਅਗੰਮੁ ਅਪਾਰੀ ॥੮॥ (ਮ:੧) The true hermit obtains a seat in the City of God, the invisible, inaccessible, infinite. ||8|| According to Dhunda's logic, even the verses in Guru Granth Sahib are promoting the worship of deity Shiva. It would not be surprising for Dhunda to eventually raise that as an issue. On stage Dhunda has routinely ridiculed various Gurmat traditions and practices such as Simran and Naam-Abhyiaas, yet when he was confronted in Calgary and Toronto by pro-Panthic individuals, he shamelessly claimed that he believed in the concept of Naam-Simran, Amritvela, and Gurmantar and had no issues with Dasam Bani. Yet, his venomous sermons on stage prove otherwise. Strict Action Needed by Sri Akal Takht Sahib Even after appearing at Sri Akal Takht, Sarbjit Dhunda has not stopped disparaging and distorting the sacred Bani of the Guru Gobind Singh Ji – it is high time for the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib to give Dhunda a final warning that either he cease and desist from his heretical sermons or face the same fate as the likes of Gurbakhsh Kala-Afghana, and Ragi Darshan. Dhunda’s latest disparaging remarks about the sacred Gurbani of Guru Gobind Singh Ji are nothing more than a feeble attempt by this lunatic to win back sympathy from some of his former cohorts who abandoned him after he appeared at Sri Akal Takht Sahib. They had chided him for recognizing the authority of Jathedars and succumbing to the beliefs and traditions followed by rest of the Panth. It is the duty of the entire Sikh community to keep the pressure on our Panthic institutions so heresy by troublemakers such as Dhunda does not go unnoticed and unpunished. Additionally, a keen eye must be kept on those who continue to promote and sponsor him during his trips abroad - as they are directly responsible for creating divisions amongst the Sikh diaspora. 12. http://www.panthic.org/articles/5484 DHUNDA STARTS CALIFORNIA TOUR UNDER POLICE PROTECTION, HIDES BEHIND WOMEN PANTHIC.ORG | Published on January 1, Scene of Chaos During Dhunda's California Visit BUENA PARK, CA (KP) – The heretic missionary preacher Sarbjit Dhunda’s first program in Southern California initiated into chaos in the face of livid opposition from the Sikh community for his blasphemous remarks on Naam Simran and Sri Dasam Bani, and seeking safety, he eventually ended up hiding behind a cadre of women supporters. Sarbjit Dhunda, who had faced fiery opposition during his recent UK trip, was visibly shaken by the intensity of opposition that continues to follow him abroad. His initial program was scheduled at Buena Park Gurdwara in Southern California for New Year’s Eve. Local Gursikhs had met with the management committee earlier in the week, and had been promised that a free discussion between the Singhs and Sarbjit Dhunda would be held. But the craven Dhunda, out of fear, declined to meet with the Gursikhs for a discussion even after multiple attempts. During the New Year’s Eve program at Buena Park, many Gursikhs had already gathered at the Gurdwara Sahib and were collectively reciting Naam Simran, when the management committee demanded that they vacate the stage and leave the Gurdwara premises so the stage could be handed over to Dhunda. Since both the management and Dhunda reneged on thier promise, the Gursikhs refused to leave and continued on with the Simran recitation along with the Sangat. Gursikhs manhandled, Dastars Removed According to eyewitnesses, a handful of Dhunda supporters along with committee members then became very aggressive and started to manhandle the Gursikhs sitting on stage. This altercation eventually resulted in the forcible removal of the dastars of two Gursikhs and a committee member. Much to the embarrassment of his cronies, the "ਨਿਧੜਕ" Dhunda showed his cowardly colors at this time by strategically placing himself behind a cadre of female supporters who were more than eager to provide him this protection. Interestingly he has done exactly the same thing in Edmonton, Canada when he hid alongside female supporters during a similar ruckus in 2011. Police Called Enter Divan Hall with Shoes The management committee, who had earlier backtracked on their promise for a peaceful discussion between both parties, in a desperate attempt to silence the Sangat, summoned the Police authorities who entered the premises bare-headed and with their shoes on and forcibly removed the Gursikhs from the Gurdwara premises. The refusal of Dhunda to have a discussion with the Gursikhs, and the heavy handed tactics of the gurdwara management to silence and forcibly remove these dozens of Amritdhari Singhs from the Gurdwara premises illustrates the level of desperation of Dhunda and supporters who want utilize Gurdwara platforms for their blasphemous mis-parchar but are not willing to face the concerns and queries of the Sangat who are questioning their malicious agenda. Key Gurdwaras Shun Heretic Preacher It seems as if Dhunda’s California tour is already off to a rough start, and could be possibly cut short as key Gurdwara Sahibs throughout the state have declined to host this heretic’s hate filled sermons which openly attack the concept of Naam Simran, the Nitnem Banis, and sacred Bani of Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Ji. Gurdwara Sahibs have always been the core institution for Sangat and Gurmat parchar for our community, they should never be misused as a venue for heresy and mis-parchar. 13. Below updates i get from my relatives. Fremont Gurdwara - Half maintained by rogue "America Sikh Youth" group and half management is of Simranjeet Singh Mann group. Sikh youth side called dhunda but other side is saying they will beat the crap out of him if he ever get on stage. Supreme council didn't made any decision but rumors are that dhunda won't be able to visit California Bay Area. San Jose Gurdwara management clearly declined and standing to protest against dhunda. Tracy Gurdwara - Two gurdwaras in tracy; one is of baba dharam singh taksal and newly opened gurdwara few miles away from taksal maintained gurdwara. Un-official rumour is that they cancelled his program because of heavy number of phone calls and pressure from sangat. Stockton Gurdwara - Mangement is getting mild pressure from few selected people but they are not backing down on giving stage to dhunda. Their answer is that sangat wants dhunda to be in gurdwara. They are mates of sikh youth america (also run fremont gurdwara). Keep this topic only for updates. Post your opinion on other topics.
  14. Taken from: www.SarbjitSinghDhunda.blogspot.co.uk Dear Saadh Sangat Ji We would like to bring to your attention the events that have occurred over the last few days as a result of Sarbjit Dhunda’s continued spreading of controversial and anti-Sikh discourses at Sri Guru Singh Sabha Southall (Park Avenue). By way of background Sarabjit Dhunda’s main views which are anti Gurmat include: That Sikhs should not do Naam Simran (repetition of God’s name as accorded by Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji) That Sikhs should not pray for the well being of all That Sikhs should place no importance on the bathing in the Holy Sarovar at Sri Harmandir Sahib That Sikhs should place no importance on the Gurdwara at Hemkunt Sahib That the Sikh National Anthem “Deh Shiva Bar Mohe Ihai” has no relevance for Sikhs and was not written by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Airing these views openly, Sangat across the globe has taken objection to Dhunda being given the stage at Gurdwareh to spread these views. Dhunda was permitted by the committee at Park Avenue, Southall to hold discourses from Monday 5th November 2012 for 6 days. On Thursday 8th and Friday 9th of November 2012, Sangat, hurt by the controversial views that Sarbjit Dhunda has been allowed to propagate during the past week in Southall, attended to peacefully protest. Sangat numbering less than 20 and including young Sikhs, made their objections known by reciting the holy prayer of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s, Sri Chaupai Sahib in the foyer of the Gurdwara during Dhunda’s discourse. The intention was to make the committee aware that Dhunda’s views are splitting up the community and spreading disharmony. Elder respected Gursikhs that were taking part in the protest had been in contact with the police from early last week via a Police Liaison officer. The police were informed in advance that there would be a peaceful protest against Dhundas visit. On both days of the protest, Inspector Julian Holden of Southall Police was in attendance. Both were happy and impressed with the dignified manner in which the peaceful protest was conducted. On Saturday 10th November, the committee agreed to meet Sangat at Khalsa Primary School, Norwood Hall, Norwood Green. The meeting lasted around 4 hours and committee members including Daljit Hayre and Sukhdeep Randhawa were present. Also present were respected members of the UK Sangat. In the meeting it was discussed and considered that Sarabjit Dhunda had already been reprimanded for his anti Gurmat parchaar by Sri Akaal Takht. It was resolved that whatever the Akaal Takht Jathedar decided, would be what all would abide by. Jathedar Ji said that Dhunda should not be allowed to voice his opinions on a Gurdwara stage and that the committee should call alternative knowledgeable Parcharaks. He stated Dhunda is intent on creating disunity, saying: “All remaining Diwans should be cancelled based on the fact that that the programs were causing considerable distress and major splits in the community across the UK” (translated). These instructions were directly conveyed to Daljit Hayre (Gurudwara Committee member) by the Jathedar via telephone. The recording of Giani Gurbachan Singhs conversation and of Daljit Hayre accepting this decision has been released to the Sangat. Despite agreeing to accept Jathedar Ji’s decision, Sarabjit Dhunda was honored with a Saropa by the committee (Daljit Hayre) at Park Avenue Gurudwara the same evening. He was also allowed to talk for 15 minutes. During which time he declared he shall not do any more Katha until he appeared before Sri Akaal Thakat Sahib. (Video footage of this has been released) The Head Granthi of Singh Sabha Southall, Balwinder “Phati”, denounced the Jathedar’s decision and encouraged him to do a discourse on stage. The Stage Secretary, Sukhdeep Randhawa, openly challenged the authority of Sri Akaal Takht Sahib. On Sunday the 11th of November, Dhunda did Katha at Guru Nanak Darbar Gurudwara, King Street, Southall, and spoke at length at Singh Sabha Southall, Havelock Road. This is despite his pledge not to, until he had presented himself before Sri Akaal Thakat Sahib. At 5pm the Sangat were made aware that Dhunda would do a discourse at Park Avenue at 7pm. Sukhdeep Randhawa (Stage Sec) was immediately contacted, to seek clarification. He claimed “I heard that as well, but I do not know, me and Daljit (Hayre) always get the blame but others may be trying to organise it!” Sukhdeep Randhawa was asked if he could confirm if the discourse would go ahead so that Sangat could be warned and could attend to register their protest peacefully. Sukhdeep Randawa replied by text; “Ok Ji”. Approximately 10 members of the Sangat arrived around 6pm to protest peacefully as they had done the previous 2 nights by reciting Sri Chaupai Sahib. This small group were prevented from reciting Gurbani in the peaceful and dignified manner in which they had done on the previous 2 nights. At first they were verbally abused which then escalated to violent pushing and barging. To the dismay of the Sangat, the committee and Sarabjit Dhunda’s supporters (approximately 60 in number), violently drove the Sangat from the foyer and out on to the street. One prominent member of the group was Sarbjit “Bavha”.During this vicious attack the turban (Dastaar) of a young Sikh was removed. After violently ejecting the Sangat, the gates were locked by Sarbjit “Bavha”. (Video of this has been released) The police were called by the Sangat. Frustratingly, instead of the police arresting those who committed violent acts in the Gurdwara by forcefully ejecting the Sangat, the perpetrators were allowed to remain outside and taunt the protesting Sangat. Shortly after the ejection of the Sangat, Dhunda arrived. The Sangat gathered around his car to make their presence aware and to let him know that the Sangat objected to his views which were not joining the Sangat to the Guru but dividing them. At the time 2 members of a prominent committee members family rushed into the protesters from behind, pushing and swearing at them. They were then followed by several of his friends who continued to push 2 young members of the Sangat aged 15 and 16 years old. This was clearly orchestrated in an attempt to aggravate the Sangat. The ‘thugs’ that tried to attack the Sangat from behind were visibly under the influence of alcohol By entering the Gurdwara under the influence of intoxicants, these individuals that have attacked the Sangat have broken the strict rules and code of conduct of the Gurdwara. One individual later tried to re-enter the Gurdwara premises from the front gate but was stopped by the police and sangat who recognised that he was drunk and should not be allowed onto the Gurdwara premises. The protesting Sangat wanted to have a calm and open discussion with the committee and Dhunda about their anti Gurmat parchaar and open violation of The Akaal Takht Jathedar's instructions not to let Dhunda speak. Panthic parcharak Bhai Surinder Singh, who in India is leading the fight for justice for Shaheed Bhai Jaspal Singh, also attended and tried to pacify the situation. He proposed that 2 members of the protesting Sangat (including himself) be allowed to meet Sarabjit Dhunda in front of the Sangat inside the Gurudwara. Bhai Surinder Singh was prevented from entering the Gurudwara. The Gurudwara Committee at first sent a message via the police that Dhunda and the committee would meet with Bhai Surinder Singh. However after an hour of game playing and lies they refused to face Bhai Surinder Singh. Dhunda was fully aware that he would be extremely embarrassed by a Panthic Parcharak. It is of note that protesting Sangat were made up of Sikhs of all backgrounds not just one group. They were all united in their opposition of the false Parchar of Dhunda and the actions of committee members who rather than joining the Sangat attacked them instead. Word spread of the Committee’s attack on the Sangat and Dhunda’s disregard of the Akaal Takht’s Hukam, the small group of Sangat grew to more than 200. At the end of Dhunda’s discourse, a sit-down protest took place at the car park gates to demonstrate the deep upset and disrespect that had taken place by allowing Dhunda to do a discourse. The Sangat braved the cold and moved only to let vehicles leave. All this time Dhunda remained hid inside the Gurdwara. Dhunda was escorted by the police who were clad in riot gear with the support of Police dogs. During the police charge many Sangat were injured and many turbans (dastaars) were knocked off, including that of Raghbir Singh who was reporting for Sangat TV News. The police used disproportionate force in attacking the Sangat, injuring many with batons. Dhunda was driven away in Sarbjit “Bavha’s” car, with a police escort. Once Dhunda had left, the Sangat remained for some time in an attempt to peacefully engage with the committee and seek a resolution once and for all. However the committee remained in the Gurdwara office and refused to enter into a dialogue with the Sangat. There was no victory to be taken by any anyone on Sunday. It was a black day caused not by Sangat taking up their right to a righteous and peaceful protest doing Naam Jap, but by the committee, who ignored the wishes of Sri Akaal Thakat Sahib and wider Sangat. Despite the heavy police presence and committee attempts to frustrate and taunt the Sangat no arrests were made. The Sangat behaved in a dignified and respectful way. The Sangat made several requests of the committee before Sunday night, humbly, in the interests of peace that Dhunda not be permitted to enter upon the stage. It is worrying that the committee did not itself foresee the inevitable consequences of putting Dhunda on stage in spite of the Akaal Takht’s order. The committee had booked Dhunda to attend from Monday to Saturday. In the face of all the heated debate and Sri Akaal Takht’s Sahib Jathedars Order, to book Dhunda to attend the following evening was a terrible decision and against the will of the Sangat. For the committee to have booked him to do a discourse on Sunday, notwithstanding the Hukam from Jathedar it cannot be denied that such a booking was undertaken out of spite and ego, to hurt the sentiment of the Sikhs: no Gurdwara committee should be responsible for causing such anguish and disharmony in the community.
