  1. News Alert: Gatka students attacked on Amritsar Gurdwara premises. Two held for hurting religious sentiments Amritsar: The city police have booked two people for entering a Gurdwara, located in the Cheel Mandi area, and assaulting several children, who were practising Gatka on Gurdwara premises. The police authorities said following the initial probe and medical examination of the suspects it was found that the accused were not drunk as claimed in the police complaint by Inderjit Singh of the Cheel Mandi area. Among those booked include Honey and his brother Money, both residents of the Cheel Mandi area. While Honey was arrested by the police, Money was still at large, said Randhir Singh, additional SHO of the Kotwali police. A case under Sections 452, 323, 295-A and 34, IPC, was registered against the duo. Inderjit had claimed that the accused were in inebriated condition and they were stopped from entering the Gurdwara complex. He stated to the police that a group of children were practising Gatka when the accused entered the Gurdwara. He alleged when children objected to it, the accused threw empty soda bottles at them, besides attacking them with iron rods. Sacrilege of the children's Dastars occurred during the incident.
