    Namdhari

Are namdhari allowed to do kirtan on gurdwara stages? did akaal thakat not ban this? If they are banned from doing kirtan why are gurdwara still inviting namdharis to do kirtan?
  2. This obsession has taken over other areas of Panjab too after "plane-Gurdvara's" in Doaba region! Punjab: In Barnala, gurdwara gets 'planes' in offerings as 'foreign dreams come true' & belief takes flight (Neel Kamal / TNN / Updated: Jul 25, 2022, 11:56 IST) HANDIAYA (BARNALA): After Doaba, people in Malwa region of Punjab have started thronging religious places even to fulfil their dreams to fly abroad. The historic Gurdwara Patshahi Nauvi at Handiaya village in Barnala district has gained in popularity among worshippers praying to settle abroad. Many devotees reach the gurdwara from far-off places and offer replicas of airplanes at the sanctum santorum. Going by the trend, a number of stalls selling toy planes have come up outside the gurdwara. The gurdwara, where ninth Sikh master Guru Tegh Bahadur is believed to have visited, was built in 1997. It is only now that it has become a point for those making wishes to flying abroad. A huge crowd throngs the gurdwara on Sundays. The trend of youngsters leaving Punjab for foreign shores, mainly Canada, Australia and USA, for a better life has been popular for years now. It is because of this that coaching centres for speaking in English have mushroomed across the state and English proficiency tests like IELTS and TOEFL have gotten popular. With a large number of devotees thronging every Sunday and even on weekdays, the gurdwara has gotten new buildings to accommodate the crowd. Himmat Singh of Dhurkot village, who brought a plane as an offering to the gurdwara, said, "I have applied for Canada and my file is at the initial stages. I have come to wish the file is cleared at the earliest." Sandeep Singh of Kahneke village, who brought a plane as an offering too, said his wife has applied for a work visa to Canada and he had come to the gurdwara to wish she got through. A sewadar at the gurdwara said it was beleved that wishes of many people had been fulfilled at the gurdwara. "That is why the number of devotees to the gurdwara keep increasing," he said. https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/chandigarh/punjab-in-barnala-gurdwara-gets-planes-in-offerings-as-foreign-dreams-come-true-belief-takes-flight/articleshowprint/93099089.cms

At least 3 Gurdwaras management committees in bradford have announced they are closing Gurdwaras till further notice due to coronavirus. Despite the government saying they can remain open for communal worshiping. This includes not even being allowed to do darshan. Do you think true Khalsa would do this?

  5. Gurdwaras in bradford only have divans on a Sunday, the rest of the week there is no divans. Is this what sikhi is ? apart from one which hold weekly Akhand path. (Before corona) no asa di // kirtan, no simran, and in fact doors a firmly locked at amritvela. is there any wonder why our youth and some of our elders are sat in the pubs 7 days a week. Where else can they go to spend their time? most of the gurdwaras are just competing with other gurdwaras to bank as much money as possible and build big buildings. what use is money in the bank? This money should be used to have divans and kirtan daily. Also some gursikhs hold private simran divans in there own homes but your only allowed to attend if your from their jatha otherwise your not welcome. this is the norm for bradford and this is happening for years. So nothing to do with coronavirus
  6. Sikhs must unite for SGPC: Sukhbir Sanjeev Singh Bariana Tribune News Service Natheha (Talwandi Sabo), Aug 6 Sikhs, for once, need to get above their habit of ‘dhadebandi’ (factionalism) and unite on the issue of SGPC’s supremacy over the HSGMC. This was stated by Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal talking to this correspondent on the sidelines of a campaign for SAD candidate from Talwandi Sabo Jeet Mohinder Sidhu, here today. “Sikhs, by nature, are habitual of attaching themselves to groups as a part of their daily lives. They all need to come on a common platform and understand the delicate situation in which attempts were being made to finish the universally accepted parliament (Akal Takht) of the Sikhs under the SGPC’, he said. “We need to understand that sustained efforts have been made since Independence to weaken the Sikhs. Years of turbulence during terrorism followed by a poor resettlement package told the real story. Taking away the supremacy of the SGPC, exercised through the Akal Takht, was the last attempt by an already crumpled Congress. The way the once supreme Congress party has been washed out in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Gujarat, it should not expect any magic in Haryana, now”, he added. All Sikhs need to come on a common platform and understand the delicate situation in which attempts are being made to finish the universally accepted parliament (Akal Takht) of the Sikhs under the SGPC. Sukhbir Singh Badal, PUNJAB DY CM
