    Prayer vs Hukam

If everything is prewritten, what’s the purpose of prayer that asks for things from god. Are we suppose to do such prayers or just stay in guru’s hukam, because i think gurbani preaches both which is contradictory.
  2. The link is static on the sgpc site. It may auto update. If not I will, or anyone please, update it daily.
  3. WJKK WJKF I am looking to buy a house and basically there is an issue with the house itself, so it might be a risk. I did a Hukam to ask Guruji what i should do and the below Hukam was blessed. Sorry I couldn't embed the Gurmukhi. Could someone please tell me what Guruji is advising me to do. http://sttm.co/s/1743/21251 sloku mÚ 1 ] salok mahalaa pehilaa ||Shalok, First Mehla: jy kir sUqku mMnIAY sB qY sUqku hoie ] je kar sootak ma(n)neeaai sabh tai sootak hoi ||If one accepts the concept of impurity, then there is impurity everywhere. gohy AqY lkVI AMdir kIVw hoie ] gohe atai lakaRee a(n)dhar keeRaa hoi ||In cow-dung and wood there are worms. jyqy dwxy AMn ky jIAw bwJu n koie ] jete dhaane a(n)n ke jeeaa baajh na koi ||As many as are the grains of corn, none is without life. pihlw pwxI jIau hY ijqu hirAw sBu koie ] pahilaa paanee jeeau hai jit hariaa sabh koi ||First, there is life in the water, by which everything else is made green. sUqku ikau kir rKIAY sUqku pvY rsoie ] sootak kiau kar rakheeaai sootak pavai rasoi ||How can it be protected from impurity? 4. With maharajs apaar kirpa beant kirpa, I have been doing my nitnem and practicing to tie a dastaar and become vegetarian. I still can't properly tie a dastaar yet. I have been begging for Amrit for so long. Some days I feel so upset because I still haven't been blessed with Amrit. But I do manage console myself with telling myself to be patient and have trust. I really don't know but at this moment I feel my soul is dying without amrit or without maharajs bani. Any bani, keertan, simran that I recite, I feel it's not enough and I can't get over it. I just went to the gurdwara yesterday and I feel like running there back again. I will wait for maharaj to do his kirpa. Sometimes for paapi like me to walk on Maharaj's hukam is quite hard. I know maharaj has heard me and will definitely fulfil my one and only desire to take Amrit.

    Hukam meaning

Waheguru I'm looking to loose weight and looking at diets or food plans. I asked Waheguru for advice first as it seems I need to eat more to gain muscle and more importantly lose weight. I was blessed with the Hukam below ਸਾਰਗ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ The corrupt person passes his days and nights uselessly. He does not vibrate and meditate on the Lord of the Universe; he is intoxicated with egotistical intellect. He loses his life in the gamble. The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is priceless, but he is not in love with it. He loves only to slander others. Weaving the grass, he builds his house of straw. At the door, he builds a fire. He carries a load of sulfur on his head, and drives the Ambrosial Nectar out of his mind. Wearing his good clothes, the mortal falls into the coal-pit; again and again, he tries to shake it off. Standing on the branch, eating and eating and smiling, he cuts down the tree. He falls down head-first and is shattered into bits and pieces. He bears vengeance against the Lord who is free of vengeance. The fool is not up to the task. Says Nanak, the Saving Grace of the Saints is the Formless, Supreme Lord God. ||4||10|| Guru Arjan Dev Ji in Raag Saarang - 1205 What is Guruji telling me. Is Guruji saying that I'm eating too much or not to eat too much?

    Hukamnama

Wjkkwjkf sangat Ji I want to take a hukamnama but I want to know if when I get to the Guru Ghar what if Maharaj is already open on an ang. How do I then collect my hukamnama because I thought you were supposed to open Guru Sahib up and look from scratch
  9. Vjkk vjkf ji! Sangat ji, I had a few questions about the hukamnama that is normally written at the gurdwara sahib daily. I know that is the hukam guru maharaj has given the sangat, but is that a hukam by which an individual can act upon or act accordingly in life. There are some days when I read the hukamnama sahib and I feel like guru maharaj is totally speaking to me because it's so relevant to my life. And then on down days, like today, where my sikhi is not going as well as I wish or I've only done half my nitnem and I feel bad but the hukamnama was saying you are in maharaj's sharan and everything in this life and the next life will be taken care of.......I feel like this cant be for me.....no matter how much I wish it was, I'm not that good of a gursikh. So the hukamnama posted daily at the gurudwara sahib. How do we take that? As a direct message guru maharaj meant for me? Maharaj brought the people to this gurughar and this is maharajs hukam for those that read it? Or only for those present during ardas/hukamnama? Anyone that can shed some light on this topic would be much appreciated!

  14. WJKK WJKF I would like some advice please I have been having issues lately especially with work not getting on with my manager she seems to exploit every mistake I make. I’m not perfect if I don’t get on with someone I wear my heart on my sleeve I won’t associate with them which is bad as this is my manager. So she keeps emailing and pointing out my faults I’m getting really stressed I think it’s me the way I act. Other things in my life are not so great ie im putting on weight my Parth I can’t do properly I’m repeating a lot as well thinking im making mistakes. So I did a Hukam as I try to every morning : ਪਉੜੀ ॥ Pa▫oṛī. Jin anḏar ninḏā ḏusat hai nak vadẖe nak vaḏẖā▫i▫ā. Those who are filled with vicious slander, shall have their noses cut, and be shamed. Mahā karūp ḏukẖī▫e saḏā kāle muh mā▫i▫ā. They are totally ugly, and always in pain. Their faces are blackened by Maya. Bẖalke uṯẖ niṯ par ḏarab hirėh har nām cẖurā▫i▫ā. They rise early in the morning, to cheat and steal from others; they hide from the Lord's Name. Har jī▫o ṯin kī sangaṯ maṯ karahu rakẖ leho har rā▫i▫ā. O Dear Lord, let me not even associate with them; save me from them, O my Sovereign Lord King. Nānak pa▫i▫ai kiraṯ kamāvḏe manmukẖ ḏukẖ pā▫i▫ā. ||17|| O Nanak, the self-willed manmukhs act according to their past deeds, producing nothing but pain. ||17|| My interpretation is Waheguru is calling me the manmukh and that basically I slander and because of my past actions its all my fault. Is that right? Is there any way I can stop this or do I just accept that im the manmukh that I am? PhulChukMaff
  15. Guru Sahib is telling us something as a Panth: http://dailysikhupdates.com/same-hukamnama-for-3-straight-days-guru-sahib-gives-strong-message/
  16. Jaap Sahib is the morning prayer of the Sikhs. The Prayer or Bani was composed by the tenth Sikh Master, Guru Gobind Singh. This Bani is one of 5 Banis that a Sikh must recite everyday and is recited by the Panj Pyare while preparing Amrit on the occasion of Amrit Sanchar (initiation), a ceremony held to admit initiates into the Khalsa. The Jaap Sahib is chronologically the first Bani (holy hymn of Guru) in the Dasam Granth, which is said to have been compiled by Bhai Mani Singh around the year 1734. The Jaap Sahib is reminiscent of Japji Sahib, and is chronologically recited at second, in the daily morning prayer of a Sikh. Ki Aaganja Karami ॥ Ki Aabhaanja Bharami ॥103॥ That Thou art beyond impact of Karmas. That Thou art free from doubts.103.

  20. Let me put it very clear. This discussion will be between you and me only on the topic of Hukam and Satgur Parsad. If other members post then you and I will ignore their post. Do you agree with this? This discussion will be done because of your intentional disrespect toward Satgur Parsad. Read many of your post on how you are confusing sangat purposely. This discussion will happen with one point being discussed at a time or a max of two points that are closely related. I know how you like to jumble everything up to confuse the sangat. Do you agree with all of this? I am telling you this beforehand so you don't think I am trapping you in some discussion. I want you to come in completely aware of what the intentions are here as I have nothing to hide. If you are going to post any reference, then in your own words it has to be explained why a reference from anywhere is being presented. I will do the same. Do you agree? Let me know when you are ready to have this discussion.
  21. I'm confused, someone said people have no free will. Do we have free will? Or does God do everything? So do we make a decision to Jap Naam, or does waheguru make certain people jap naam? If wahguru does make everything happen then why do we get good or bad karam? We did not choose to do something, waheguru made us do it. So why are we rewarded or punished for that deed? Or did that guy get it completely wrong?
  22. Is Khalsa allowed to rule? Is Raj a must for Khalsa? How do we justify Khalsa Raj, especially as Khalsa is religious.
