  1. Watch both parts ....within first few times of practice you will learn that you are not your thoughts.
  2. Kindly help me to understand the difference between the effects of doing yoga and meditation and the effects of meditating on lord's name. Both type of meditations have calming effect on mind and body.
  3. I was wondering if there is any Sikh meditation music that is about? I know some there are some western born artists like Snatam Kaur and others have made but shes not really a Sikhi exclusive related artist. And most Kirtans can not be described as meditation music as they are hymns sung using multiple musical instruments often out of tune! If we look at guru nanak devi ji and his travels with mardana music was an important part of naam simran and it was played just using sitar and rabaab I believe. The sounds those instruments make touch the soul the sounds they produce vibrate and stirs the mind into the correct frequency for meditation.

  5. This is a question for all the sikhs including myself are we really sikhs or just known to be sikhs. How is our relation going on with god? Do we meditate on GOD? OR WE are stuck in getting a different nation? Does every sikh understands Gurbani? Why do sikhs don't respect other religions? Whereas GURU sahib respected every religion. And What is the difference between sikh(us) and "SIKH" in this shabad- ਮਃ ੪ ॥ One who calls himself a Sikh of the Guru the True Guru shall rise in the early morning hours and meditate on the Lord's Name. Upon arising early in the morning, he is to bathe, and cleanse himself in the pool of nectar. Following the Instructions of the Guru, he is to chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. 6. I found out about this link http://www.mrsikhnet.com/2008/10/16/sodarshan-chakra-kriya-meditation/ also the punjabi translation of this shabad by Prof. Sahib Singh Ji can be found here http://www.gurugranthdarpan.com/darpan2/1106.html it is extremely hard to understand the meaning of his shabad according to Gurmat. From my knowledge I know that Gurmat does not support YOG SADHNA and this shabad by Bhagat Jaidev ji is being taken as supporting some sodarshan chakra kriya of meditation by our SIKHNET brothers. (I could be wrong). anyone wants to shed more light on it? The breath is drawn in through the left nostril; it is held in the central channel of the Sushmanaa and exhaled through the right nostril repeating the Lord's Name sixteen times. I am powerless; my power has been broken.
