  1. VJKK VJKF Sorry I am not trying to cause any fights but I have a question. I’m not much of a jathebandi guy because high avastha gursikhs are in every jathebandi, but a question popped into my mind. What maryada of preparing Amrit is the one Sahib Shri Guru Gobind Singh ji used? I understand that Sant Jarnail Singh Ji approved of the SGPC rehit maryada, but here’s my problem. Taksali Maryada states that a Shri Sahib has to be kept of the edge of the batta while stirring the Amrit with a khanda in the right hand, and these two are to be passed with the Shri sahib remaining at the edge and the khanda remaining in the Amrit.. SGPC only mentions a khanda being used, and from what I know, Buddha Dal has all of the panj pyare having their shri sahib drawn and on the edge of the batta while one pyara stirs the Amrit with a khanda in their right hand. I also know that SGPC shortens some bani while the Amrit is being prepared. My question is, because I am taking Amrit in a few months time if I don’t fall from my rehit, what jathebandi should I take amrit from? Should I just take amrit from whatever gurdwara is closest and follow their rehit? I am utterly confused at this. Is one type of amrit sanchar parvaan and the other isn’t? Should I just get over differences and just worry on taking amrit? thanks.
  2. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Sangat Ji, I know there have been many similar posts on this topic (also by myself in the past) however, I had a question. Can Sukha be used in other forms like in hot drink instead of Degh? I know, Shaheedi Degh is Shaheedi Degh but I was having this discussion with someone and it made me think too. Would this method then make it against maryada as it's technically no longer Degh according to the recipe/ingredients and method used to make rugra. If someone with knowledge could reply it would be most appreciated. Akaal!
  3. About Vadde mahapurkh's early life before joing Sant Sundar Singh ji's jatha, is it true they had taken pahul from Budha Dal and had been a nihang singh before hearing Sant Sundar Singh jee at a smagam where budha dal mukhi Akali Baba Teja Singh were also present. There are several different views on this, and since most of sangat here is from England, fortunately residence to sachkhand niwasi Giani Gurdev Singh ji, Giani Pritam Singh Likhari ji and other prominent singhs of jatha bhindran, I was wondering if anyone had heard something of the sort from a singh etc., there are people saying Vadde Mahapurkh used to consume jhatka once and degh as well until becoming mukhi of Taksal. Just want to clarify the details. Would appreciate any further khoj done. Anything about this in sri gurmukh prakash or giaan kirna or khalsa vachitar jeevan?
  4. "No Regrets": 'Nihang' Who Claimed Brutal Killing At Farmers' Protest The body of Lakhbir Singh, 35 years old and from Punjab's Tarn Taran district, was discovered early yesterday morning with the left hand and right foot cut off All IndiaReported by Mohammad Ghazali, Edited by Chandrashekar SrinivasanUpdated: October 16, 2021 2:30 pm IST https://www.ndtv.com/india-news/lakhbir-singh-murder-no-regrets-nihang-who-claimed-brutal-killing-at-farmers-protest-site-2577427 New Delhi: Saravjit Singh - a Sikh 'warrior' or Nihang who has claimed responsibility for the gruesome murder of a Dalit labourer at a farmers protest site in Haryana's Singhu yesterday - has claimed "no regrets". Singh was produced at a local court today following his surrender yesterday and sent to seven days' police custody; the authorities had argued for 14 days' saying Sarvjit had given them information on four other suspects and that they had to recover the murder weapons. An earlier video - from before his surrender - of him tightly flanked by other Nihangs - at least two of whom still carried swords - and surrounded by reporters has emerged, in which one reporter asks: "Do you feel repentance?" To this Singh looks disinterested, waves the question away and shakes his head, and replies "No". The body of Lakhbir Singh, 35 years old and from Punjab's Tarn Taran district, was discovered early yesterday morning. It was found tied to a police barricade with the left hand and right foot cut off. As news of the brutal and sickening murder spread, at least three videos were circulated, showing a large group of Nihangs, standing around his body as lay bleeding and in pain. One video shows the group standing over him after his left hand was cut off. Another showed them filming his dying moments and a third showed him strung up by his feet like a slab of meat. NDTV has not been able to independently verify any of these videos. Also, reports circulating since yesterday morning claim that Lakhbir Singh was attacked for allegedly desecrating the Guru Granth Sahib, the Sikh's holy book. Swaraj India chief Yogendra Yadav, who is part of the group leading the farmers' protests, had indicated an argument broke out at the protest site Thursday night over a question of desecration. The Nihangs allegedly beat Lakhbir to death, cut off his limbs and tied him to the police barricade. However, voices from Lakhbir's home village of Cheema Kurd have a different story to tell. "He could not have done this; he was not that kind of a person. He was made to do this," Masa Singh said. Another, who requested anonymity out of fear of reprisal, stressed: "Lakhbir can't be involved in desecration", and a third, retired soldier Harbhajan Singh, said "... he must have been lured there." The Samyukt Kisan Morcha, which is spearheading farmers' protests against the government's new laws, and members of which group are among the thousands camped out at Singhu, has unequivocally distanced itself from the murder and any connection with the Nihangs. "... want to make it clear - the Nihang group (and) the deceased - have no relation with the Kisan Morcha," SKM said yesterday, adding that it abhorred sacrilege but nobody could take the law into their hands. The guilty must be punished, the farmers body said, and offered the police its support. Haryana Chief Minister ML Khattar held a high-level meeting at his residence in Chandigarh to discuss the murder; Home Minister Anil Vij and the state's police chief were present.
  5. There is a video going around of a nihang Singh at the farmers protest in Delhi talking about how at some nihang Dal Amrit sanchars there are two baate of Amrit - from reading around apparently 'mazbhi Sikh" have to have a separate bata of Amrit from everyone else and also there are separate pangats in langar. Does anyone know what this is about?
  6. Does anyone know if Bhai dharam Singh nihang of sach Khoj academy has gone to akal takht for pesh as I know they declare him tankhaiya a few years back. Just wondering is he still considered tankhaiya? Has he been excommunicated or considered part of panth? I quite like his veechars Nihang Singhs don't seem to have an issue as he was at a nihang event in 2018 https://youtu.be/fw_zLnhlQ0s
  7. Who is the jathedar of Tarna Dal? What are the different branches of Tarna Dal? Which section of to Tarna Dal is associated with Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Jee, I have heard it is hariavela but then I have also heard it is Baba Bakala?

  11. Why are there so many profiles on FB of nihangs who worship durga and kali ? If we're going to be shakti worshippers, then why beat around the bush with identity crisis. why not just accept we're hindus if we're going to worship the same gods and goddesses they do ? this is frustrating to see fellow sikhs go down this line
  12. Today I see many people mix Punjabi culture things with sikhi. Like I personally think that Bhangra, giddha and other things like this aren’t related to sikhi and aren’t allowed for Sikh to do. People need to understand that being Punjabi is different than being a Sikh. Do u guys think that Bhangra and giddha r forbidden in sikhi?? I wanna hear sum more people’s vichar in this
  13. I tie a taksali dumala, but i am wondering what is the history behind it. Apparently the singhs in guru jis time used to wear nihang dumala and used used to wear chakars on them. When was the taksali dumala style made? who made it? is there a reason why taksalis wear this dumala?
