  1. Hi SikhSangat forum users. I am a y/o male who has just started keeping kesh about 10 months ago. My hair has gotten quite long but not long enough to do a joora on the top of my head, and as result I don’t think I can tie a gutti. What would be the best style of dastaar to tie? I am torn apart on whether to tie a Dumalla, keski or a simple gol parna. I can also provide more info. Thanks.
  2. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Does anyone know how to tie a Puratan style Dastar, the same type of style that Guru Gobind Singh Ji or Guru Hargobind Ji wore?

    Long Hair

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji Ki Fateh I need help in tying my kesh (very long) before making a dastaar. Currently my mom ties a joorha & patka on my head but for a long time coming I want to start tying a dastaar. One major obstacle for me is preparing my kesh before making a dastaar. I've tried making a dastaar with the joorha my mom ties, but it sticks out of the dastaar and makes it look very awkward on my head. Tying a bunga also does not solve the problem. I'm very depressed and was wondering if anybody has any suggestions.

  6. Hi all, I need some pagh material advice. I need a really thin, light weight, stretchy, breathable pagh material. I wear a pagh for 24hours sometimes (due to work commitments) and so it needs to be light and breathable to let sweat escape in hot working environment. My length is usually about 3m, black colour. Can anyone please give advice on which website and which material name/number is best in this case? Thank you
  7. How do you do your hair for a gol pagh? I do a loose one at the moment but it looks really stupid. One side of the joora is higher than the rest so it sticks out and makes my pagh look wonky. ^sort of looks like that, one side has a lot more hair than the other.
  8. I'm going to start doing MMA and boxing. I need a strong pagh style, or a way of tying up my hair so that it stays out of the way. My hair is long but it is light.
  9. I wear a dhamalla most of the time, but the problem is that it takes a while to tie. I need a smaller pagh that I can wear on casual days where I'm just going to the store or I'm going for a walk in the park. This's what I want to learn -->> http://instagram.com/p/U3G9tcON7L/ If someone could link me a tutorial or just tell me how to start it, that would be great. WJKK WJKF
  10. Hello, My question is what do you do if you are involved in a fight and your turban falls off , or the 'enemy' tries to rip it off? What would you ? Would you fight and dont care if your hair is seen? Take it off by yourself and wouldnt give him the chance to take it off? Run away? Please some serious thoughts - because this can happen everywhere and everytime . I mean if someone else sees your hair, what would you do/think/react?
  11. There's a new twitter page and website that started up a few days ago called @patkaspotting it's made to shame people who were patka's. The person who started this page said their intention is to promote people to wear dastaars instead of patka's. In my opinion I think this is very wrong and it can even be considered as cyber bullying because the people on this page don't give permission for their pictures to be used (a lot of them don't even know their picture is used). Does anyone else think this isn't right? The website is http://patkaspotting.com
  12. What type of dastaar do you wear? And what part of the world are you from? I'm just curious and I want to know what styles, people wear in different parts of the world.
