  1. Is protesting effective in achieving outcomes, especially for Sikhs? Farmer protest currently happening in India has been going for many months. At least 400 farmers have died during the protest, many were arrested and tortured by police and government, even children, but no satisfactory results have been achieved. Sikhs have protested for justice for happenings in 1984 in many cities across the world. Is this effective for us or are there other ways to deal? Deepa Singh, of Sikh Activists UK, was seen on social media soon after being handed the fixed penalty notice by police on October 4. "The fine was for arranging a gathering under COVID restrictions. We are standing in solidarity with our farmers in Punjab," Deepa Singh said. The group, however, went on to thank its many supporters who turned out in large numbers for the rally. "Thousands attended and Southall was gridlocked, we cannot thank you all enough for taking that time out to make an effort to attend," said Sikh Activists UK. "Everyone who attended stood shoulder to shoulder with our families in Punjab, it is at times like this we unite and structure ourselves on political issues to help educate the sangata (community)," they said. Southall in west London is home to the UK capital's largest Sikh population and witnessed a gathering of cars, trucks and motorbikes during the rally on October 4 to protest against India's new agricultural laws. The Metropolitan Police officers were on patrol to try and control crowds as protests fall within the purview of the coronavirus laws, brought in to control the spread of infections in all parts of the UK. "A man has been reported for consideration of a 10,000 pound fixed penalty notice for breaching the Health Protection Relations 2020 in relation to a protest that took place in Southall on October 4," a Met Police statement said. "Protests are not exempt under coronavirus legislation. Organisers must carry out a full risk assessment and take all steps to limit the transmission of the virus; they must make sure this is adhered to," the statement said. Similar fines have been handed out to organisers of anti-lockdown protests in London in the past few weeks and months.

    JAGTAR SINGH FreeJaggi

Gurfateh ji I don't feel like we're doing enough for Jaggi. Petitioning and protesting isn't getting us anywhere. The protest in London could hardly be called a protest for a start. 400 people turn up. 1-2 cops. What sort of a protest is that when the police just let you get on with it, don't even bother showing up. Lol it's a joke. They know we're too complaisant. Everyone's contacting their MPs, only a handful have made any sort of statement... 3? 5 max? They just don't give a monkeys. Britain's relationship with india is way too important. Now more than ever post brexit. They won't do shtt to jeopardise it. It's all about trade deals. It was in 84, it still is now. We need to wake the F up. So my question is, what can we do?! We need to up the ante. "Apan hathi apna, apay he kaaj savariye". With our own hands let us resolve our own affairs. Waheguruji nothing is being done. Our brothers rights are nonexistent. Heck the British high commission representives failed to show up to the second hearing. No one's batting an eyelid in the gov. I'm fed up with petitions. I'm fed up with begging. I'm fed up with "protests"/ gatherings. Back in the day we courted arrests. Everyone knew something was going down. It showed we meant business and were willing to put everything on the line to get what we wanted. What happened to our anakh? Our sovereign mentality?! Such a sad state of affairs. I'm done begging. I'm doing complying. Enough is enough. Hadn't got us anywhere. And if you're scared of media reports IDGAF. There's no such thing as bad publicity. Would you sit back and write a letter to your MP if your brother mother sister was in jaggis shoes? No. So wake up. Pul chuk muaf ji.
  4. Notice the gora 3Ho sikh trying to shut up the protest, first threatening arrest, then surrounding him and even putting hands on him and one buddi starts hitting him
  5. Posting here due to the low number of hits on the events page. It is the duty of all UK sangtaan to attend this protest in force to show our unity with the Sikhs of Punjab and Dhan Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Edited by InderjitS, Yesterday, 02:45 PM.
  6. First of all...I'm not saying anything against the protesters...we have every right to protest when we are facing this sort of treatment, especially beadbi of Maharaj Ji...but i want to share something: I keep hearing people saying that Singhs were reading Bani peacfully, and the police started to suddenly charge them, and shoot them, and spraying water canons, without any warning. However, one particular video i found on Sikh voice shows the footage of what happened before the police started attacking, and it shows a totally diffferent thing. Singhs are not siting down, they are standing up and are agitated. In the front is Bhai Ranjeet Singh dhadrianwala and Panthpreet Singh. Then, the police order the arrest of the leaders in the front...and they are taken away to some police vehicles. At this point the crowd began to get agitated and some pushing begins. There are Singhs with swords drawn moving towards the police and we see the police and Singhs getting into scuffles, and then the water cannon comes out and everything goes crazy..people running etc...thats when the riot began. I'm not saying the police are not wrong...i'm sure they did abuse their power and went overboard like they always do...all I'm saying is that we need be TRUTHFUL or else we discredit ourselves. The police's version (press note available on facebook) actually says that Singhs were on the loudspeakers and telling the crowd to use kirpans against police, and destroy their vehicles (this could be verified through video if it's true or not...someone is talking on the speaker, but i can't figure out what they are saying)...the police are saying that the Singhs started to act unruly and since they are outnumbered, they had to use force to deter the large crowd. Again...lets the facts clear. If i am wrong, or if this video is from a different incident, please let me know. I'm not saying anything against the protest, i'm just saying the truth needs to be told to remain trustworthy, and from this video, it seems that Singhs were getiing agitated and were scuffling with the police before the water canons came out and control was lost, and this information seems contrary to what we are being told about everyone sitting down reading Bani (i'm sure Singhs were reading Bani all day during the protest, but when all this drama went down, the video shows a different story). Here is the video: https://www.facebook.com/SikhVoice/videos/vb.318449181542739/899815653406086/?type=2&theater

  9. Akaal Ji Sahai, In the UK we have a current polarized view of inter-faith Anand Karajs: some for; some against. Whenever a wedding is planned between an engaged pair, clearly in love, turning up to the Gurdwara with Nimrita, Love and Respect, with their families, they're met with crowds of Sikh yout, angry, chests out, displaying aggression, intimidation and causing a rukus; protesting the Anand Karaj's Is this all the Singhs are good for nowaways? Stopping weddings? Got nothing better do than acting bad, chests out stopping weddings? Where are these wastemans when 276 Nigerian girls have been kidnapped by Boko Haram Terrorists in Nigeria? When drugs are being peddled in streets? When girls are being raped and being made sex slaves? Where these "rudeboys" when fighting ISIS and standing up for TRUE injustice. When it's time to give Shaheedi for truth and justice? When they're actually needed? Stopping weddings pales in comparisons to what these mice in lions outfits should be doing... I feel all these wastemans / wannabe Singhstas are good for is scaring bacharey (who don't even know nothing, mean no disrespect) at weddings and people who are looking to get married. The gorey already think religious people are extreme - we don't need to blacken the name of Sikhism and make ourselves out like all the islamists.
  10. look dumb an insecure 9 out of 10 times it seems its males protesting a marriage between a girl marrying outside of the community makes the males protesting look like insecure losers also how do you define who is and who is not a sikh what if you have a male and female getting married both the male and females parents are practising Sikhs but the male getting married is an atheist and the female is a practising Sikh to an extent then what are the rules are they allowed to get married a lot of Sikhs getting married in gurdwaras are agnostics meaning they don't know if their is a god or not an really don't follow any religion now if you have agnostics getting married in gurdwaras but the parents of the agnostics are Sikh would you protest those weddings and prevent them from getting married what if you have two people who claim to be practising Sikhs but drink booz go to clubs and don't know much about Sikhism can only name two gurus usually guru nanak and guru gobind singh ji and only go to gurdwaras for weddings would these types of weddings be banned to?? it just seems like people against interfaith marriages an who protest at gurdwaras are insecure men who only protest when a girl marries someone outside of the community
  11. Sikhs in Uk have been protesting outside 10 Downing street since Friday non stop since Friday Potential death of an innocent man who has been in a hospital for 6 months or so because of mental health issue And yet no media outlets in Uk or the world are reporting this. Not even a signal mention. I cannot applaud and be proud of the Sangat who are there right now and overnight. It gets me so angry however, that our efforts are falling on deaf ears here. It goes to show that politicians and media don't care about protests or whatever it doesn't matter to them one bit if it don't interest them. The thing they are interested in is money and power. This is what we have to take away from them to get noticed. We can stop our voting or funding for these parties then that would be a start, its drastic but it would make them notice. It might just be a slight dent to these politicians but it will make them notice. Let them know that if they don't even at least acknowledge the fact that we have been protesting that we will take some sort of action against them. Stop funding these politicians if we even do now because this is all they care about. If we can all unite and this is the big thing but if we unite together we can make a bigger difference, if anyone got any ideas of how to tackle this add them on here. We need to it them where it hurts Phul Chuk Maaf
  12. Amitabh Bachchan’s Invitation to Leicester Event Causes Outrage in UK Sikh Community. “Indian film star incited mobs to kill Sikhs”, say survivors of ’84 genocide. Amitabh Bachchan was the first high profile personality alleged to promote the killing of Sikhs during the November National Genocide of 1984. Seva84 is a charity that works solely for the victims of the Nov...ember 1984 Genocide. Volunteers of Seva84 have recorded first-hand accounts from the survivors of 84 who witnessed Amitabh raising slogans which prompted the looting, raping, killing and torture of 30,000+ Sikhs in November 1984. The accounts of eye witnesses detail Amitabh making calls for Sikh blood "khoon ka badla khoon (blood for blood)" and other blood thirsty slogans at Teen Murti House, thus making him a key figure in the November 1984 National Genocide, where voting lists amongst other government data was used to identify Sikh homes and businesses which were marked in red before being blazed to the ground. Sikhs of all ages were raped, hacked to pieces and burnt to death. To date, the Indian State has failed to deliver Justice. Keith Vaz is a British MP and is celebrating 25 years of his membership in parliament. Keith Vaz has invited Amitabh Bachchan to join him in these celebrations. The Sikh community in the UK and abroad have written letters to Keith Vaz to inform of Amitabh Bachchan’s role during the Genocide. As Keith has not yet replied, Seva84 organised a peaceful protest to coincide with the visit of Amitabh Bachchan at the venue he is due to attend (Saturday 16th June 2012 outside the Platinum Suite, Cobden Street, Leicester LE1 2LB). This protest is to express the distress suffered and the collective feelings of the Sikh community regarding Amitabh’s visit, and also to highlight his role in November 1984. The Leicester Police have been informed of the protest. Furthermore, the protest has backing from the Sikh Sangat (Congregations) in London, midlands area and strong support from Sikhs living in Leister. Today, 11th June 2012 the police have contacted a Seva84 representative and advised them that Amitabh may not attend on Saturday as he claims he maybe i’ll on that day. The police will have further information regarding Amitabh’s presence at Platinum Suite. UK Sangat, In particular SANGAT in the MIDLANDS... IT IS VERY POSSIBLE YOUR ATTANDANCE MAY BE NEEDED THIS SATURDAY IN LEICESTER. We will keep the sangat updated with any progress regarding the protest. Please keep your Saturday night free, as the FIRST person witnessed to promote the killing of Sikhs in November 1984 may be in Leicester. Stay tuned to Seva84 Facebook page for updates. The surrent situation: Seva84 will be informed of Amitabh's attendance tomorrow, however we have been notified that Amitab's family will be present at the event. On this basis, the protest is going ahead. The protest has been organised by Seva84, and is supported by two other Sikh organisations. If their are any changes we will inform the Panthic organisations that are supporting the protest, and also we will also notify sangat on our facebook page www.facebook.com/seva1984 If there are any other organisations that would like to show support for this protest, please email contact@seva84.com from your organisations adddress, and we will also list these on our facebook page. We would also reccomend more sangat contact Kieth Vaz to express their concerns of Amitabh attending this event.
