  1. WJKK WJKF I was scrolling through the sikh reddit the other day and found this So... a bit weird isn't it? I have been watching this man's podcast and it quite honestly makes a lot of sense, except when it doesn't. From a previous question to the sangat, I came to the informed conclusion from Gurbani that Reincarnation is a state of mind as well as an actual occurance, and that is one thing I will have to take on faith. But this seems quiet odd, knowing that a literal study on prayer has been published and it has results that were negative. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Efficacy_of_prayer I read this wikipedia article (yes, it's not super trustworthy), and it said that 13 of 23 studies had significant postive results, with 1 study having a negative effect and the rest having no noticeable effect. Does prayer really work? In my subjective experience with Covid and my dad almost being put on a ventilator but he insisted not to, and being released with a little bit of Pneumonia 5 days later, it does. My ardaasan for waking up at amritvela without an alarm worked for a week, albeit I woke up with heartburn multiple times. Can you really study the effects of prayer? If so why? If not why? WJKK, WJKF!

  3. Just wondering how sikhi parallels to the gods believed to exist by great minds such as einstein. Does sikhi concept of god the same as the one thought of by Baruch Spinoza??

  5. Where is the line? All I hear is, nothing can logically explain sikhism then I say to those, 'ok do not get your child vaccinated, and do not use a car if you don't believe in science.'
  6. I believe everything in Sikhi can be explained scientifically. Is there any research into meditation, by good sources?
  7. Hi all, Masturbation is healthy every week or so, I think, and reduces prostate cancer, so how do Sikhs view this, because I was always taught it was wrong, but surely the scientific health benefit is more important? Maybe, similar to sex, which also releases good hormones in the, but also banned by people I know. If it does in moderation and lovingly, then is it alright, with God's kirpa?
  8. HI understand I have been making a bunch of forum posts which might be annoying, but I was wondering what is Sikh's view on the multiverse, I mean it doesn't deny or agree with it, and the Guru Granth only mentions multiple galaxies, solar systems, and such, but no Universe's, but do you think in Whaeguru's Hukam there could be multi universes is Sikhism and its views on Reality is it an illusion, and that the Consciousness make's this illusion and that consciousness is an illusion? Even though Sikhi doesn't mention the Multiverse, there are mentions of realms which can be interpreted as universes. ਅਗੰਮ ਅਗੰਮ ਅਸੰਖ ਲੋਅ ॥ Aganm Aganm Asankh Loa || Inaccessible, unapproachable, countless celestial realms. ਜਪੁ (ਮਃ ੧) ੧੯:੨ - ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ : ਅੰਗ ੪ ਪੰ. ੭ Jap Guru Nanak Dev “In so many ways, He has unfolded Himself. So many times, He has expanded His expansion. Forever and ever, He is the One, the One Universal Creator.” (Guru Granth Sahib, p.276) “He Himself is the thread, and He Himself is the many beads; through His Almighty Power, He has strung the worlds.” (Guru Granth Sahib, p.604) The issues is that there is no known definition of "worlds", it can either mean the universe or planets, but worlds can mean the universe as in other quotes of the Guru Granth they mention of Waheguru making countless planets and galaxies. “There are planets, solar systems and galaxies. If one speaks of them, there is no limit, no end. There are worlds upon worlds of His Creation. As He commands, so they exist.” (Guru Granth Sahib, p.8) Here is one more quote which makes more sense than the other quote. pwqwlw pwqwl lK Awgwsw Awgws ] (5-2) paataalaa paataal lakh aagaasaa aagaas. There are nether worlds beneath nether worlds, and hundreds of thousands of heavenly worlds above. So in your opinion, what is your view? For me, I just feel it matters on interpretation, I mean for me I think Worlds is unlikely for Planet as there are many quotes in the Guru Granth mentioning Planets and such as that quote before which means its likely Worlds can mean a universe. http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-43976977 https://www.sciencealert.com/reality-doesn-t-exist-until-we-measure-it-quantum-experiment-confirms
  9. https://www.rt.com/viral/341617-new-planets-discovered-life/ Don't let the title to mislead you, but they found some 3 new Earth-sized planets which makes me curious and both excited as it feels like we are closer and closer to find life. What's Sikhism's view on life or "Aliens", I know that this is very stupid, but I am just curious because I believe that the Guru Granth mentioned about devotees on other planets.

    Science & Sikhi

Hi All, Is it just me or does anyone else think that science and sikhi go hand in hand? Were always told that you either believe in the big bang or god - My understanding is that waheguru is infinite and eternal. It is said within the SGGS that there are millions of galaxies etc. and that the human mind will never be able to fully comprehend wahegurus creation but thats not to say science is wrong? Im no scientist but I enjoy researching astrology and the size of this universe and reading into all these questions we have on how big the universe is etc. Science makes new discoveries everyday and although we have come far in terms of disocvering the universe, i believe it is infinite as Sikhi tells us and that we will never find the 'end' of the universe Its amazing to think that waheguru created all these millions of galaxies on such a mass scale. We are all so insiginificant in terms of gods creation, all the problems and stress we have in our lives as humans is just on one country, on one planet, in one solar system, in on galaxy of a million/billion galaxies?
  11. Why do people want the science about Heaven and Hell, and the Soul. Its a mysterious place in a different world, and the Soul is only known by us. Science can't figure everything.
  12. People want science about heaven and hell and the soul, but heaven and hell is a different place and it's a mystery. Science can't research and U.S. Regular humans never came back from heav and hell. The soul is our home, and it's a invisible home only notice by our selves, but people want science about it. Well it's a mystery.
  13. Hello folks my name is Jasdeep! I am interested with Science, and I know that there is some Science in the Guru Granth. The Guru Granth said that there are billions of universes, and there are other life on other planets which is true. As they found bacteria on other planets. But, I am looking for more science in the Guru Granth, please help, and thanks. Every religion I see has science, which makes me excited.

  15. I posted this a while back, but it's hard for a lot of atheists in the guise of Sikh appearance to digest.
