  1. I think we would know what state Sikhs would be in a muslim majority indian punjab we just need to look at condition of our oppressed and brutalised Sikh brothers and sisters in afghanistan, pakistan and kashmir But what about if it became a christian majority state what would be the consequences for the safety and security of Sikhi and Sikhs?
  2. I read this article. This Namdhari Dalip Singh has said a very good thing. Read article attached
  3. I've noticed something about christian missionary vultures with their relative recent surge in activity in punjab from 1990s. What they couldn't manage by force and invasion in 1800's with the racist white christian british empire and brutal troops ruling over them they are achieving with indigenous punjabi evangelical christian pastors preaching to the masses freely and unhindered by any authorities. These missionary christians slowly groom the unsuspecting naive sikhs and other punjabis telling them Jesus is a guru too and eventually tell them that jesus is only Guru and then he is God they must exclusively follow. That they must reject their previous faith, culture and customs. If they do not their soul will go into hellfire as they will be seen as sinners who rejected Jesus. It seems something has changed in punjab and the punjabi character in being so secular and liberal allowing abrahamics to invade their minds whereas in previous generations they would have thought it unthinkable to become a christian it would have seen something of a embarrassment of choosing the religion of your oppressor. And the missionaries would not have dared to try and convert Sikhs in punjab especially with them telling our people secretly and openly our religion is from the devil and we are all going to hell if we do not become Christians. Have we become too tolerant too soft?
  4. Is there any crime or sin in Sikhi that would be seen as unforgivable? I know in the janamsakhis Guru Nanak Sahib Ji is mentioned to have forgiven and reformed alot of infamous evil characters even mass murdering man eaters. So I was thinking if the Guru Sahib can forgive and reform evil doers is there any crime us Sikhs would not forgive? and how would we justify harsh punishment for heinous crimes if our own Guru's forgave mass murderers?

    Feeling so broken

Wjkk wjkf I don't know how to start but I'll try to talk, I am heartbroken I know having lust is bad in Sikhi but I am human and will do mistakes I am hoping waheguru does forgive me. So there's this Sikh guy he was my friend for like 15 years...he use to be a mona Singh but few years ago he went into Sikhism..... he doesn't drink no more...wears a dhamalla ..and loves going gurdwara..... I had fallen in love with him but he does like other girl picture and keeps on liking her pictures she drinks and is not into sikhi it keeps breaking my heart. I told him my feelings and all my problems he said he is only a friend to me ... sometimes he use to talk to me like he has feelings for me to so I asked why... and said goodbye to him... now he has blocked me on all social websites and it is hurting me so much. I know in the guru granth sahib ji it says don't attach to anyone as they all are Temporary only waheguru is permanently in our lives... but my heart is broken in such a way that I don't know what to do Please please help me.... I really had the thought he was the one in my destiny but I was wrong. Please forgive me for any mistakes I am just a human I am not perfect sorry if I said anything but please help me i don't feel like doing anything at all in so heartbroken it hurts so badly. Wjkk wjkf
  8. I saw a news piece today of well meaning Sikhs providing free langar/aid/shopping to people in southall and slough. Every time i hear of charity and religious groups helping people its always the Sikhs or Christians very rarely I'll see muslims, hindus and buddhists helping non-believers of their faith. Buddhists I don't hear ever doing anything for non-buddhists yet they command a religious following of 500 million+ believers in their ideology. They have 3-4 countries to their name also and generally have a better representation and PR than Sikhs. Afghan sikhs have long complained of persecution from local muslims and jihadi terrorists but most world governments drag their feet in helping them by not giving them urgent immediate refuge instead many in the past have had to risk their lives illegally traveling in shipping containers where a few died few years ago. Surely Sikhs are missing something here? It seems to me no matter how much our people do for charity for non-believers that will all be forgotten as soon as anything negative comes up. There needs to be a trade off. If a non-believer gets langar they must do something for Sikhs or Sikhi even if its just free sewa like wash the dishes. I was humbled when I saw an irish non-sikh guy who had an homelessness and alcoholic problem who used to come to my local gurdwara to get langer but in return as a give back to the community he used to wash the dishes. That guy has passed away now but it shows how much he appreciated and grateful to Sikhs and how Sikhs appreciated him in return. We need a something for something culture brought back not something for nothing as we all known when something is free it is not valued as its considered like air or water. When theres value to something people appreciate it alot more this is how human beings are and we need to wake up to that fact.
  9. khadim hussain rizvi the new kuttah Islamic brelvi sunni extremist molvi praising the killings of hindus and sikhs.
  10. When we look at stats and the current situation in panjab we see that the missionaries are rampant disease. They are targetting the poor and rich alike. Not only are sikhs, but hindus, muslims etc are also being converted. Why is that no sikh finds this issue worrysome and scary? We still have not seen any major sikh group, including akal thakht, say a word about this issue. What do you guys think?
  11. Why does it seem as if no one is worried about the christian missionaries wrecking havoc in panjab? So many peole are getting targetted and converted yet no sikh group, included akal thakht, have made a stance on this situation. What do you guys think?
  12. This is a thread to post ur favourite kirpana and other shastars (like their was this fav kirtan thread) mine personally is the sarabloh store 12 inch curved pesh kabz

  15. Not to offend anyone, but I want pray for my wife even if in her past life she done wrong, but it Sikhi seems so obsessed with me , not condoning what the warriors did, just us can you help me understand
  16. Sikh Sangat from Punjab (India) living abroad should make regular visits to Punjab. This way they stay in touch with Sikh culture. Visit the Gurdware and see Sikh heritage. There’s 5 Takhats to see. Also a chance to speak in Punjabi with everybody. I have been 7 times myself and love it.
  17. I thought if we have love for our guru like a child would with a father then having to shower again wouldn’t have to be a requirement especially if you’ve cleaned yourself and changed clothes and everything? Isn’t just one ishnaan necessary to sit and do paath next to your guru?
  18. SSA to all. Recently ive been wanting to do paath and include it in my daily routine but im not sure where to start? I am a university student and im very depressed, i also cant read or write in the punjabi language which is making it even more difficult for me to do paath. As of right now, i just play the live kirtan from youtube to help relax myself during the day and before bed. I understand that it is important not only to recite paath but to fully understand it too. Can you please help me, where should i start? how often should i do paath? what should i listen to, try reciting and remembering?

    Somebody help me with this

So I’m going out on a date with this white girl i met through mutual friends and have only met each other once. She gave me her number and we decided to meet up. She’s only seen me once, and not at my best (I was at work). She’s pretty decent from what I can tell. However, I heard from one of my mutual friends that she has eitraaz over my beard as I’m a kesadhari khuli dhari wala sikh. She hasn’t seen me in a pagg, she saw in my patka under my hardhat. How do I approach this situation, cutting/trimming is off the table, not happening. So do I call the whole thing off? Or do I give it a shot and just go even though she could be put off by it and then it would be a complete waste of time for me. ? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you waheguru ji ka Khalsa, waheguru ji ki fateh!?
  22. I think Sikhi is much stronger in the west rather than India. In India they follow Sikhi because of their ancestors whilst in the west they actually choose to become Sikhs.

    self esteem

hi i think a lot of the issues that periodically come up on this site have to do with low self esteem. what is self esteem? how you think of yourself, how you value yourself, how much love and respect you have for yourself. what is low self esteem? when you look down on yourself, you base on your opinion of yourself on how others view you, you look for validation and approval from others. what causes low self esteem? depending on external influences to understand and feel good about yourself. what is the cure to low esteem? to love, respect and value yourself. this is not the same as arrogance or pride. it's a sense of self security. don't base how you feel about yourself on the opinions, feelings or reactions of others. in Sikhi, no one is high or low ("uttam neech nah koi"). Only God is above. Therefore, you don't have to look up or down on anyone.
