Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Ji, I was thinking about starting to wake up during amritvela(3AM in specific). I thought I would go to sleep at around 7PM so I could get a full 8 hours of sleep since that is what experts recommend and I personally don't feel very good when I sleep less than 8 hours. However I recently came across this pangti: Does it mean that I am committing a sin by sleeping 8-9 hours? Now of course guru sahib cannot be wrong and they would never misguide us. Does that mean we should sleep 6 hours or less despite science recommending 7-9 hours worth of sleep? Please don't get me wrong I am not saying guru sahib is wrong and mean no disrespect at all, I ask this because I am a bit confused and require guidance. Thank you.

Last night I was sleeping and I felt like I lifted out of myself and felt this immense blissful/joy feeling while it happened, it didn’t last long at all and I woke up. The feeling was amazing. It’s given me so much motivation to continue practicing with the aim of taking Amrit. I’m guessing people here have experienced this.

I’ve started to wake up at amritvela again with maharajs Kirpa, it’s been almost a month now and I’ve added extra bani to my nitnem as my Panj baniyan are fluent now. I normally get up at 2:30 or 3 and then go back to sleep at around 5:30, however as someone was going to come round the house yesterday morning at around 8am I had to get up at around 7:30 instead of getting up at my normal time around 10:30. This made me incredibly tired as I only had 3 hours sleep prior to amritvela. This meant that when my alarm went off this morning at 2:30 I was so tired that I just couldn’t get up. I was about to go back to sleep but then I just picked up my phone and started my nitnem. As I didn’t even have a shower or wash my face, does this count? Feel really guilty

Hey guys so ive been noticing this for a few weeks, everytime i get less sleep, i do paath much faster and can concentrate a little better. When i mean faster it usually takes me 1 hour 30 min to do Japji Sahib, Jaap Sahib, Tav Prasad Svyeia and Chaupi Sahib. I also do ardas at the end. But when i get less sleep i can do everything in 1 hour. Does this happen to you guys as well?

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Recently as I have been trying to stay on an Amrit Vela, I've felt some sleep problems, (before I was trying to start the routine, I hadn't been a strong person in GurSikhi, also having some strong-minor withdrawal symptoms of previous kaam problems), I want to know if anyone else has this a problem getting to sleep at night, while trying to wake-up early in the morning, and what I can do, (With Gur-prassad of course), to hopefully sleep at the night and be capable of Waking-up early at Amrit Vela, (sometimes I can't sleep until 12 A.M.) Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! (It sometimes makes me feel weak that I can't wake-up early because of sleeping too late).

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! I've been having trouble sleeping for about the last month. I have a bit of stress going on in my life (just the basic stuff everyone has- job security, money, etc.) and I had a family-friend who was like an older brother to me pass away last month (I lost my older brother when I was in grade 12 and my family friend was my older brother figure ever since). I don't really feel tired throughout the day but I can't stay asleep throughout most of the night and my mind isn't really stressing about things (maybe it's subconscious??). Is there any shabad that you would recommend me doing right before or as I am trying to sleep??

I've been wearing a pagh for a couple of years now. Do most Singhs sleep bareheaded or do they wear a head covering of some sort? I'm not a gursikh, I trim my beard and was just wondering what most people do.
