  1. Is time relative in Sikhi? Are souls born in different yugs/civilizations according to their karma? I would think so but never really thought about it...
  2. I know this topic has been addressed before (see here) but I was wondering if anyone has anymore knowledge to share about the 4 yugs. I was wondering how this would fit with modern day science. If anyone also has any videos or books on this subject, please share Bhul Chuk Maaf
  3. I can't be the only one who has an addiction with my phone ( I probably am) but in case someone else has this problem I think I found an app that can help it's called "Moment" it basically tracks screen usage (so even if you're unsure about your addiction, at least you can find out), and you can set it so it annoys you with a reminder every few seconds, telling you to get off. I tried mine personally today, and was in shock... (see my screenshot) I think this problem can be overcome and I'll update on this post in a week or two, anyone can join me (if they want). Anyway hope it helps! Good luc

    Scared of death

I am really scared of death, how do I get rid of that fear? I feel like life is just going so fast and I am justing getting worried and am staring to panic
  5. I've heard that death is pre-destined. And I've also heard that one can increase one's years of life by yoga which many did according to our history. They simply slowed down their breathing and thus lead a longer life. Is this true? Does this mean that life is actually dependent upon number of breaths and if so time does not play a big part since it's up to you to decide how long you want to take to breathe each breath. Are there any quotes in Guru Granth Sahib ji on the matter? Thank you
  6. I recently researched some facets of Sikh history and here is what I have concluded. Please feel free to comment and criticize me. For the full article please see: http://tisarpanth.blogspot.co.nz/2014/09/dichotomy-and-de-evolution.html?view=magazine. I have also listed my sources, if in doubt please feel free to pursue them and get back to me. 'History is written by the Victors.' -Sir Winston Churchill. (1) History is never static but perpetually subject to fluctuation. Maybe then, what we call the past is nothing more than an adjective to catalog the notion of the commencement of an

  9. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh In a post, by someone else on another site, the reference to the calculation of time in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is quoted to be; ਅੱਖ ਦੇ ੧੫ ਫੋਰ = ੧ ਵਿਸਾ। 15 blinks of eye= 1 Vissa; 7 and half karih's= 1 pehar; ੮ ਪਹਰ = ੧ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ। 8 pehar's= 24 hours [day/night]. ੧੫ ਥਿਤਾਂ; ੭ ਵਾਰ; ੧੨ ਮਹੀਨੇ, ਛੇ ਰੁੱਤਾਂ। There were 15 Tithis’ = days of lunar month; 7 vaars= days of the week, 12 months and 6 seasons Please c
