  1. A recent event at work where people on temporary contracts had to reapply and go through an interview process as there were not enough jobs for everyone. my co-worker applied but didn't get the job. She was very sad and prayed.... A week later work rang her and said situations had changed and offered her the job! I was just left gobsmacked thinking just when she thought it was all over God performed a miracle... Similarly some relatives we know couldn't have kids due to the wife's obesity and medical conditions but never gave up praying and today they have two very healthy children. I just happened to see this too https://www.google.com/amp/s/fox6now.com/2016/06/10/one-pound-miracle-baby-expected-to-survive-thanks-to-the-power-of-prayer/amp/ Have you heard of or experienced any miracles? please share your experiences.
  2. I've been reading up on ardas as I'm going through a difficult situation myself. 1.With waheguru jis grace I've read bhai ragbir Singh bir's 'power of prayer' book where he's shared countless experiences of how maharaj ji answers prayers ( definitely recommend reading that) 2. Bhai guriqbal Singh ji's presents the experiences of the power sukhmani sahib answering the sangat's prayers in his book '9 qualities of sukhmani sahib' 3. I read parts of bhai ragbir Singh bir book 'chardikala' which talks about the concept of kismat in a gursikhs life. He explains that although many gursikhs may chose to accept God's will, gursikhs can go beyond kismat and be forgiven for their past bad karma I.e. God boils down upcoming bad destiny to nightmares (famous saakhi linked to this too) I'm now started reading a new book called 'the miracles of ardas' by sant niranjan Singh ji. One thing I'm finding in common is that faith has to be unbreakable - chose faith over fear. Also the stories that the books have shared are of 'ordinary' people Obviously reading things from books can build your faith to an extent so I was wondering if anyone has any first hand experience of their or someone they know ardas being answered. If anyone could share anything, I'd be beyond thankful.
  3. The Anand Sahib is a collection of hymns in Sikhi, written in the Ramkali Raag by Guru Amar Das, the third Guru of the Sikhs. The word Anand means complete happiness. ਸਾਚਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਆਧਾਰੋ ॥੪॥ साचा नामु मेरा आधारो ॥४॥ Sācẖā nām merā āḏẖāro. ||4|| The True Name is my only support. Ang 917 ?? Dhan Dhan Guru Amardas ji
  4. Today Marks one of the most Shocking cases of the disappeared Sikhs of Panjab. Bhai Jaswant Singh Khalra Sikh Human Rights Activist The Person investigating the cases becomes a victim of the Panjab Police. Bhai Jaswant Singh Khalra : A Human Rights Activist, A Sevadar and Becon of Light for the Disappeared. who had challenged the darkness by exposing the Indian government, in how the innocent Sikh youth in India were being killed. Bhai Sahib attained shaheedi on 6th September 1995. to read about Bhai Sahib's findings, jeevan and an interview with Bhai Sahib's singhni, please go to the link below: Jaswant Singh Khalra's grandfather Harnam Singh was an activist in the Ghadar movement for the independence of India. Jaswant Singh is survived by his wife, Paramjit Kaur Khalra and two children. 18 years ago Sardar Jaswant Singh Kalra Ji was washing his car outside his home in Punjab when a police jeep under orders from K P S Gill pulled up and abducted him. Jaswant Singh Kalra was never seen again! He was tortured and murder, his body was disposed of by the police. His crime was that he spoke the truth. By going to the cremation grounds and looking at the records of those that supplied wood to be used for cremations he was able to prove that Punjab police was abducting thousands of young Sikhs and killing then cremating them. Jaswant Singh Kalra was speaking out and being listened to across the globe and this was dangerous for the authorities so they had him murdered. Six police officers have been tried to date, five are serving life sentences and one has been acquitted. They all say they were acting under direct orders from K P S Gill. This butcher needs to be brought to book. Will this happen? I doubt it, he has so much protection from central government that it is rumoured that he lives in a place so secret that the average public are kept 50 kilometres away!! Bhai Sahibs Speech to Canadian parliament - MUST WATCH A TRUE HERO AND A TRUE SIKH, BHAI JASWANT SINGH KHALRA WE SALUTE YOU ! and we hope to have even a ounce of the anakh and bahaduri that you had for more info see here http://www.1984tribute.com/Jhujaroo-Jeevani.php?id=126 and please leave your comments and tributes in this post, so that we can remember such heroes and teach our children about them.
  5. As a debate topic from the perspective of gurbani, I think this question is a pretty good one. I say, the intent behind the duplicitous nature of the act is what matters. Its all about having a shudh hirda. So for e.g.. . Ridai shudh jo ninda hoae hanre kapre nindak dhoae. Thanks. Gurfateh
