  1. SSA I’ve seen on you tube a growing trend of individuals creating videos to promote themselves. Namely a so called mystic called Kala kala. He has a you tube channel, tic tik, etc. I understand that before changing his path he owned glassy junction, a pub in Southall back in the 90s and 2000s maybe earlier. He wears colourful turbans and colours, wears lights, costumes etc. I’ve heard rumours that whilst in business he failed to pay UK tax and the government are after him. As a means of getting out of it he is playing dumb to avoid it. He is acting as if he’s lost it mentally and physically. He eats meat and drinks. Is this all a cover up so he can claim insanity and avoid paying tax? Anyone?
  2. Just heard this on Panjab Radio this morning in the UK. There was a consultation on changing the name for Havelock Road, Southall - this is also where the famous Singh Sabha Gurdwara is situated (which you will sometimes see in media and some British TV movies and documentaries), there is also another popular Singh Sabha Gurdwara on Park Avenue in Southall - just explaining to avoid confusion. Here is an article from 2002 to show context with regards to Major-General Sir Henry Havelock and issues with the name of the street. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/2003119.stm So anyway the radio station was congratulating everyone as it seems the name change has been approved! Just found some Singh Sabha Gurdwara facebook posts regarding this now: https://www.facebook.com/sgsssouthall/posts/2646454702122065 Also on the gurdwara Facebook story https://www.facebook.com/stories/1817655594943329/UzpfSVNDOjI2NDY0NDAwNTg3OTAxOTY=/?source=story_tray A few days ago in Bristol, a slaver trader's statue was toppled by the protestors. Yesterday, Robert Milligan was taken off plinth in London by the Tower Hamlets Council in East London. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/jun/09/sadiq-khan-orders-review-of-all-london-statues-for-slavery-links It looks like these protests about #BlackLivesMatter which erupted due to the shooting in USA are also useful for sikhs. This is already helping in pushing the case for Havelock's name to be removed from the street in Southall, whereas before no progress was made. The uk will now be looking at colonial statues and memorabilia to see what can be removed. This is important as many of the colonial related people affected sikhs in negative ways! NOTE: I know protests are going on, but as it is COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic, please be safe and observe social distancing. There is too much crowding at these protests, and could lead to increases in cases for the virus!
  3. Sikh separatist leader condemns Kabul gurdwara attack, requests India to shelter minorities from Afghanistan ANI | Updated: Mar 28, 2020 15:15 ISTFounder of Dal Khalsa and UK-based Sikh separatist leader Jaswant Singh Thekedar (File photo) London [UK], Mar 28 (ANI): Jaswant Singh Thekedar, the founder of Dal Khalsa - a Sikh separatist organisation, has condemned the barbaric attack on a historic gurdwara in Kabul and requested the Indian government to shelter the remaining families of Sikhs and Hindus from Afghanistan. On Wednesday, armed terrorists killed 25 civilians in a terror attack on the 400-year-old Gurdwara in Shor Bazar in Kabul. The Islamic State affiliate in Afghanistan claimed responsibility for the attack, but many experts believe that Pakistan's spy agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), propagated it to oppose Ashraf Ghani, who was re-elected as the President of Afghanistan last month. In a video message, Singh said, "In Afghanistan, the way the Taliban carried out a barbaric attack on the Sikhs in Kabul's historic gurdwara and killed children and women who were praying for the people affected by coronavirus pandemic is highly condemnable." "The attackers are not religious people and they have no humanity. They have only one motive to call others as 'kafirs' or infidel and kill them. It is also preached in their holy book. This is an unforgettable incident for the Sikhs," he added. The separatist leader also stated that he has requested the Indian government to allow the remaining Sikhs and Hindus from Afghanistan to get them settled in India. "Our request has been accepted and after the COVID-19 crisis. Whoever will apply for a visa, the Indian government will facilitate them," he said. "We are thankful to the Indian authorities. We are also reaching out to the victims' families with all possible help. We are your brothers. The horrific attack has happened on the entire Sikh community. We all stand together with your pain," Singh added. The Sikh community in the war-torn country that once constituted a vibrant, well integrated and economically active part of the Afghan society has been persecuted and driven away, since the Taliban grabbed the reins in the 1990s. Their depletion has been so rapid that of the once close to a quarter of a million population, only a minuscule 1000-odd still remain in the country, barely eking out a livelihood amid extremely violent circumstances. 6. Its well known that muslims have a big divorce rate in the uk at the moment. That has been steadily growing for the last 20 years or so at a fast pace. Thankfully Sikhs are nowhere as near the spiralling rates of failed marriages in the suleh communities of the uk. There are definantly lessons to be learned from the failures of muslims and there marriages. But what is the reasons for high divorce rate in this particular community you may ask? Afterall its these people who like to think of themselves as religious and into their faith.Yet they are divorcing like no tommorow. One of the reasons is that they have a a high degree of arranged marriages. Many are not given much choice of who they marry. Essentially they are marrying to incompatible partners which is a recipe for disaster. This is not the fault of the people themselves but is the fault of the matchmakers who arrange these marriages without much thought and attention to finding a suitable spouse. I know this may be something that Sikhs need to look into. There is nothing wrong with arranged marriage. But the girl and boy should be given plenty of time and choice of who they would like to marry. Many suleh parents are very pushy and strict They dont give their kids much say. Its all about marrying some cousin back in pakistan to get a visa stamp or other family ties. Thankfully Sikhs give their kids more choice and support in these matters and help find the most suitable match. Hence our rates of divorce are less. But we can still do more. Hope our youth dont get forced and coerced like many muslims do when it comea to marriages otherwise we could be going down the same path aa them. WJKK WJKF

    UK Sikhs

http://www.newindianexpress.com/world/2018/nov/27/pakistani-men-sexually-exploiting-british-sikh-girls-study-1903887.html According to this new report,UK Sikh women began to elope with Pakistani men since the 60's. This would mean the current batch of Sikhs in the UK are mostly the spawn of whores. No wonder the girls are mega sluts and the boys effeminate drunks. Discuss.

    Diaspora relations

Hi guys, I have some questions about diaspora relations. In Canada in general do Tamils and Hindus in general get on with Sikhs or is it neutral or is it a negative relation. Secondally and finally , in the UK do Hindus get on with Sikhs /neutral/negative. Also is there rivalry between Hindus , Sikhs or Muslims and if so are Hindus and Sikhs on the same side or are they separate. Thanks

  12. I heard some places around the uk which were doing nagar kirtan for more than decade have stopped doing them for vaisakhi. The east london one used to have a huge procession with 15,000-20,000 attendances that starting from rosebury gurdwara in manor park but has stopped for past 2 years now. Any one know what the reasons are?
  13. Why is the uk so unsafe. All we hear and see on the news is stabbings, murders, gun crime, drugs. I feel the uk is getting worse and worse. The youth are out of control. There is no community spirit or cohesion. Theres a huge gang culture. It just seems like a very unpleasant place to live. Is it something in out diet that is making us so bad? It is not like this in other countries. Everyone is much friendlier and calmer. Yet the kids today seem full of rage, anger and hate. I was on train the other day and could hear the kids talking so much gandh out of their mouths. Like they have not been taught to speak with respect and lack decent everyday manners. What is causing the youth to behave ao badly. All you see them selling drugs starting fights or general anti social behaviour. Having been to spain and italy. It is nothing like this.

  15. https://www.nhs.uk/news/cancer/ultra-processed-foods-linked-cancer/ I think most of us would not be surprised by this, but definitely a good reminder to avoid unnatural foods Ultra-processed foods linked to cancer Thursday February 15 2018 Examples include mass-produced breads and cakes, snacks and sweets, fizzy drinks, and ready meals. Researchers in France studied the diets of more than 100,000 people for 7 years. They found small increases in the overall rate of cancer and breast cancer after the menopause in those who had the highest proportion of ultra-processed food in their diet. But because of the wide range of foods included in the ultra-processed category, it's difficult to establish which specific foods might be responsible for the increased cancer risk, and why. The increased risk could be caused by eating more high-sugar, high-fat processed food.

Moving to Punjab from the UK

I've decided to hand in my notice at work and focus on myself for a little while. I'm a UK born and raised mid 20s male. I'm in search of "home". I can't stand the UK anymore... The weathers pure shieet and the people aren't much better. The only thing tying me down is my family and the comforts of British life. I've decided I'm moving to Punjab for at least 6months. I'll be living in Amritsar just around the corner from Darbar Sahib, renting an apartment. I need the time away from work family everything here to focus on myself and hopefully build on my sikhi. Does anyone have any advice for me? Any recommendations? Stuff to pack take with me? Places to visit? Thank you in advance. I have an OCI visa. Basically on my visa photo I was mona short hair clean shaven etc. I've since grown my Kesh and now wear a dastar. My passport photo is a current photo. Do you think this could be an issue? Should I renew my OCI visa because of the change of appearance? I imagine this will be a lengthy process... Anyone done this? Thank you sangat ji in advance. Hope to hear from you guys soon wish me luck ha

  20. Recent cases have shown white chavy males are chucking acid on people in london. Racist Whites used to look down on ethnic minorities used to have this snobbish racist attitude towards brown/desi and middle eastern countries saying how backward they and their communities are. Not any more looks like the scummy evil yobs of the white community are just as bad if not worse and need to be dealt with very harshly. Most of the recent victims seem to be asian muslim people done by black or white attackers.. London met police are hiding the stats.
