  1. In the uk we have Ramgharia gurdwaras, in some places ther are called Ramgharia sabha! However, I think most gurdwaras and even sikhs calling themselves "Ramgharia" are scamming us as they have weak or no connections to Ramgharia misl, and are just using the fact that they are tarkhans they can use the Ramgharia term because Jassa Singh Ramgharia was from tarkhan background. Please prove me wrong! Also, I have been observing gurdwaras since I was young. I remember when I was a child in the 80s and 90s, Singh Sabha gurdwaras still allowed shoes and langar was eaten on tables, in the times when the adults used to work all the time, doing double shifts etc. However in the 2000s we can see a change in Singh Sabha gurdwaras as well as some other gurdwaras, where shoes are no longer allowed, and we have a lot of space to sit on the floor and do pangat in langar. It's really strange to see so many tables in gurdwaras after seeing langar done exclusivily on the floor gurdwaras in Panjab and India. Just look at Harimandir Sahib, 4 takht, and many other gurdwaras back home. Now, across London, Slough and Berkshire, midlands, I have noticed Ramgharia gurdwaras allow shoes into langar and have little or no accommodation for sitting on the floor. It is bizarre to see in Ramgharia gurdwaras, the sangat coming from doing sangat or matha tek in divan hall, and then putting on their shoes to go to langar. Like we are going to a restaurant or something! What is this, is it some kind of kenya/east africa sikh colonial army era tradition to keep doing this, even after the other gurdwaras have moved back to giving satkar and respect for langar maryada? Then we come to the scam, in the Ramgharia gurdwaras, there seems to be more links to East Africa sikhs than Ramgharia misl. There are more trim Singhs with Kenya paghs on Ramgharia gurdwara committees compared to more sabat surat Singhs on Singh sabha committees, from my observations in these England regions. You will find more kenya pagh and trim or fixo darhi, than bana walay Singh in these gurdwaras, again the Ramgharia label is scamming us, as Ramgharia is used for sabat soorat Singhs from the misl, especially those tuned to bana (and open beard is part of bana). Also, I have listened to Rehraas Sahib in some Ramgharia gurdwaras, and they read the disfigured bhasauria SGPC style of Chaupai Sahib (such as the way performed at Harimandir Sahib the past 100 years), skipping arril and the last lines of kabyo baach benti, which makes them more like a Singh Sabha gurdwara and far removed from being Ramgharia due to having similar disrespect towarda bani as Singh sabha gurdwaras, as Ramgharia misl would respect dasam bani and read the full kabyo baach benti. So the langar thing is bizarre, and now I think of it it's disrespectful. And the use of Ramgharia sikhs and Ramgharia gurdwaras term is a scam as they are anything but, as there is so much disrespect to be associated with the practices of Ramgharia misl! Even the fact they celebrate Maharaja Jassa Singh Ramgharia's birthday doesn't allow them any forgiveness or courtesy! This goes double for the Slough Ramgharia Singh Sabha, as they have a statue of Jassa Singh Ramgharia, and yet are their actions related to actual Ramgharia? Yeh, let's not fall for the scam! and sikhs that are sangat in those gurdwaras, really need to step up and get in those committees and change things for chardi kala! We need to see more chardikala Singhs running things, not trim Singhs and fixo Singhs!

People need to understand that being Punjabi is different than being a Sikh. Do u guys think that Bhangra and giddha r forbidden in sikhi?? I wanna hear sum more people’s vichar in this

  8. VJKK VJKF! Sangat Ji, are there any Singh's (or Singhia) in the GTA area (Ontario, Canada) that do shooting (airguns or guns) or are members of gun clubs? I would love to meet fellow Gursikh's in the area that enjoy shooting and know of places (indoor or outdoor) where we could shoot for target practice etc. Perhaps there is someone here that has private land or knows someone that does where Sikh's could gather and practice target shooting or even archery etc. Even an old barn. If anyone knows then please comment. Thanks. Gurfateh Ji!
  9. Majority of Sikhs on this site seem to be against 'using' Pak to further our own interests, citing issues such as grooming and kidnappings in Pak. What would they say of medieval Sikhs who accepted Nawabi from Moghuls and the likes of Jassa Singh Ramgarhia being soldiers of of Adina Beg in the mid eigteenth century? The Mughals surely did worse things than Pak Govt/populace, and yet there seems to have been an consensus at that given time in history that alliances or strategic moves could be made with enemies (not justifying the Ramgarhia soldiering for Adina Beg though), so why would it be such an issue in this day and age ? PS. Go through all threads I have created throughout the years before assuming I am pro Muslims or Pak.
  10. Hi, This has probably been discussed before but it's something I can't really wrap my head around. I'm a singh with full beard and have cousins who are the same, we are finding it difficult to find Sikh girls as life partners. The ones I've been introduced to have a problem with me not cutting my beard and being vegetarian etc... few have asked me if I would cut my beard etc... this coming from supposedly Sikh girls and it's quite disgraceful. I've had more interest from girls who are not Sikh...i.e Gujarati, English girls etc.. who don't seem to care about me being a full singh, it's raising questions in my head about the future of Sikhi as a whole, our Sikh girls are moving away from our faith/traditions and adopting western values and ways above all. One of my cousins got fed up and cut his beard in the hopes to be more 'accepted', but I feel this is the wrong choice to make. I'd be lying if I said the thought didn't cross my mind but I don't want to move away from Sikhi just to find a wife, but it seems like our Sikh girls are. Suppose this is more of a rant than a question as such.

    should i leave amrit?

Well, I'm 15 and an Amritdhari since I was 10. Since two years a beard started growing on my face and I didn't bother much about it, until now. Teachers tell me that I need to shave, while my peers stay away from me cuz "i look like a terrorist" lol. At first I didn't think it much but continuous pressure by pretty much everyone has made me feel quite depressed. I thought it would be great to tie it, but my parents don't want it cuz they say this is papey-tarkhana da kam lol. my father is an ex amritdhari mona and my mother also removes her facial hair. to be honest, my father had warned me not to take amrit cuz he said there will be a time when i would want to cut kes, eat meat etc. it was difficult to find some money to buy some hair gel as my father doesn't give me any pocket money and when i ask for some he either swears or says he doesn't have anything. truth is that much of his income goes to extra-school activities like taekwondo, football, 4-5 tuitions which cost almost 600 euros. all that just because he wants me to "become something" by simply cutting me off from society. i don't own a phone while pretty much everybody does and even the pc i'm using now is a gift from a friend of my father. he somehow expects me to be the best kid in school and become a doctor, while most of the time i'm exiled either to football, taekwondo or any freaking tuition. when i complain he starts beating he hell out of me. all that has made me think that it would be better to leave amrit. panj pyare had told that when taking amrit my caste was eradicated. but everytime i go to gurudwara i see amritdharis asking my caste. i also see amritdharis hating each other while we were supposed to be a family.

  14. Sat Sri Akaal. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh. This video depicts and portrays the complications and hardships I've witnessed and experienced throughout my life. Moreover, I'm oblivious and wary about how majority of the sangat beholded and contemplated these issues during their schooling years and in a nutshell in life. I'm not solely the only one who underwent these problems and even in a working environment it is these prevalent situations where institutional racism occurs due to 9/11 attack on Twin Towers in a western nation. Therefore, this is just the commencing of my YouTube ventures which I will be willing to share publicly without any fear since I am direct and blunt personality. I would sincerely appreciate it with all gratitude if I can gain more Subscribers, Comments and share it widely to all your family, allies and relatives. For your interpretation to enjoy and view the video content. More videos will come soon. Who wants me to upload a Turban tutorial? As I am tactful and skillful in tying my joora without using the mirror by taking it an advantage or relying upon the mirror. Check out the video below: Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh. Sat Sri Akaal to all the sangat. Stay tuned. God Bless.

    Singh attacked in Leeds

You must have all seen the video from Leeds of brutal attack on a defenceless Sikh lad. Can anyone provide update on what is happening? I’m not talking about the Singh - I know he’s being supported. I’m interested in the attacker. This was a brutal attack carried out by 15 year old Hashir Khan of Leeds. The video clearly shows at least 6 direct punches to the head/face. It is absolutely in the public interest that this thug be locked up for a long time. Parents from same school are reporting their kids have been punched by same thug. Any criminal lawyers in our sangat who can help make sure we see some prosecution? Hopefully the Singh’s family will receive all support necessary to press charges for assault.
  22. I'm I wrong, I saw a picture of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, I called him Guru Nanak Ji, people shouted at me abs swore, am I wrong or right.
