    Akhaad Paath Items?

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Went to book an Akhand Paath today from the gurdwara and was told that they will not allow prakash of Japji Sahib Pothi; they will not keep jal; they will not keep a coconut and will not light a jyot during the Akhand Paath. I wanted to ask is it manmat to have these things present during an Akhand Paath? If so, Why? Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
  2. Sangat Ji, i have been noticing a disturbing trend of especially here in the west, instead of doing paath themselves will pay for the paath to be done in Darbar Sahib on their behalf? What is this nonsense and what does anyone get out of paying for others to do paath in their absence? Isn't the point of paath to do on ones own for gian? My family for example do it ourselves and we all take turns even the young ones who can read. And we do langar during and do all the seva ourselves. Isn't that the point? I think it's ritualistic for one to pay others to do it while they go party or watch the television etc. Pointless!
  3. WJKK WJFK https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXCX6E2TGNU&feature=youtu.be Video shows Paathi who is the president of the Gurdwara as well watching youtube during his raul in akhand paath sahib. Akhand paath should be read and listened to by the sangat, and not merely read as a ritual to make money for gurdwara's. No one is getting laha of more than one akhand paath being read at the same time. Sangat needs to stop this from happening around the world, gurdwara's are turning into money making machines and too much beadbi happens with numerous akhand paaths happening all at once. Gurbani is not ritualistic verses like brahmin veda's... Gurbani is a our guru, our teacher for our lives and we are doing so much beadbi in Akhand Paath's. Sangats views? Bhul Chuk Maaf
  4. I have recently heard from a very trustworthy/knowledgeable source that in Australia, the 'price' for an Akhand Paath at one Gurdwara is $8,000 and at another is $4,000...... Can someone verify this? Like how ridiculous!!!

  7. Simran of 48 hours(akhand) has been started in Gurudawara Gaindser Sahib(Ambala) from 1 march and bhog will be on 3 march to pay homage to baba ji of Shahbaad. President of above said Gurdwara asked baba ji(now incharge) for Akhand paath but they insisted on simran of 48 hours(akhand) instead of Akhand paath. President of Lakhnaur Sahib Gurdwara Niranjan Singh has written to SGPC to take action against disrespect to gurbani and stop this akhand simran.
