  1. I having been reading up on Mughal and Mongol History and found it quite extraordinary and very interesting as I uncovered many misconceptions about the Mongol and Mughal empires and their origins. First of all the Mughals of India did not all originate from Iran or turkey. They came from a mixture of countries such as Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and Mongolia, most astonishingly most of the leaders of the Mughals where in fact direct descendants of Genghis Khan who were originally Buddhist or other Chinese religions of that period and not Muslim and came from the Mongolia. The first Mughal Emperor of India was Babur who was Ghengis Khans’s Grandson. The word Mughal is a mispronunciation of the word Mongol and many people mistakenly called the Mongols, Mughals and the name just stuck ever since. In fact Mughal and Mongols is the same people. The early people of India mispronounced the word Mongol thinking they meant Mughal. The Mongols where the most ferocious empire to ever rule and exist, under their leader Genghis Khan. Another mistake that people often make is thinking that Genghis Khan was a Muslim. This cannot be further from the truth. The word Khan originates in Mongolia. Khan means ruler and the name was adopted by Middle Eastern Muslims from the Mongolian empire who were not Muslim and never where. In fact the biggest massacre ever carried out against Islam and Muslims was committed by Genghis Khan. Genghis Khan nearly wiped out Islam from the face of planet during his attack on caliphate of Bagdad. He systematical slaughtered every Muslim in Baghdad, burnt down Islamic libraries and mosques and all Islamic heritage in an attack that lasted 10 days. At the time Bagdad was the centre of the Islamic word. This is where all their precious Islamic manuscripts and religious art and books were kept. And was also the most powerful Islamic base with thousands of muslim armies protecting it. The great Genghis believed in freedom of religion and was very tolerant of other faiths and practices. But at the time of his attack on Muslims, who ruled in Bagdad and nearby areas, were killing non-Muslims and treating them very badly. Genghis Firstly asked the Muslims to stop their hostile treatment of non-Muslims and surrender. When the Muslim leaders of Bagdad refused and carried on with their forced conversions and ill treatment of Non-Muslims. Genghis then unleashed the most devastating attack the Islamic world has ever seen in the history of Islam. He set about to wipe Islam of the face of the planet. This was not just a skirmish to see who was boss. He systematically went about with the aim of destroying every single trace of Islam. Genghis Khan hated Islam and what it stood for. No one has since come close to attacking Islam as Genghis achieved. This is why every Muslim hates Genghis Khan. If you would like proof of this just Google Genghis and Bagdad. The Mongols then ruled over Bagdad but some of the Mongols such as Genghis Khans grandson converted to Islam from their own will. But I’m sure Genghis would not have been happy about that. These rulers then then invaded India and where succefull because of their Mongol heritage fighting skills and empire. To cut a long story short the Mongols invaded the Middle East and after butchering most of the muslims. But along the way some of their influential leaders converted to Islam and slowly started to adopt to islam. They went to ruling Muslim countries to slowly becoming Muslim themselves. This is why many Mughal emperors physically resemble mongols ie Chinese looking. Not all Mongols converted to Islam just mainly their leaders who had very good fighting skills from the Mongolian empire. They then went and invaded India and that’s why they were so successful due to their Mongol heritage leaders and armies. After this the Midlle eastern Muslims adopted Khan as their name from the Mongolians. Khan itself is not and Islamic word. Here is a link of information on of Genghis attack on Bagdhad http://lostislamichistory.com/mongols/ Here is a video posted by a Muslim on the attack by Genghis Khan on the Islamic world This is a short BBC Documentary on Ghenghis
