  1. Recently I have been pondering over this a lot...why isn't Mata Ji mentioned in the Ardaas? Almost all the key figures in the Panth throughout history and currently are mentioned either directly or indirectly, but oddly enough the Mother of the Panth has no mention. Not only that but Mata Ji has generally been sidelined and treated as a background figure up until recently where there has been (somewhat) more awareness of Her status, which in actual fact is a very exalted status; Mata Sahib Devan Ji is the Puran Sargun Saroop of Adi Shakti. Why isn't She talked about more? Why do we not do Ardaas to Her? Why is She not remembered or invoked on a daily basis? Aside from a brief mention on Baisakhi there is nothing. The Mother of the Sikh Panth, of the Khalsa, Jagat Mata, is Adi Shakti Herself. We are blessed. And we as a Panth need to take it upon ourselves to pay homage to Her, and give Her the utmost respect and reverence. Mata Ji is Ang Sang Sahai... Please share your thoughts. Gurbar Akaal!!!
  2. http://www.sikh24.com/2018/06/29/op-ed-misogyny-in-the-khalistan-movement-view-of-a-kaur/#.WzXeLnrwbcs I was sent this article and found it to be very accurate and on the ball. However, as much as i agree with this article, i think this article could be expanded even further. yes the typical khalistani in the uk is male, amritdhari and lashes out when anyone opposes their views. trust me i used to be exact the same. but taking a step back since i have moved away from birmingham, i can see that by restricting the movement to black and white, is never take the movement forward. the movement never was restricted to just amritdharis, initially the Anandpur Sahib mata was for all Punjab. secondly, Sant ji being the great visionary that he was, actively sought those who had broken away from sikhi i.e the smugglers, gangsters etc. thirdly, even at the peak of the movement, a lot of the kharkoos were not just gursikhs, a lot were well known guys in their areas and that gave them the base to branch out to other like minded guys and had girls who helped them out. so if you compare that to now, in general the khalistanis are seen as extremists by most sikhs (which hurts me to say), while the so called khalistanis are quick to alienate anyone who doesnt agree with them and give themselves in front of their own circles the hype about how panthic they are. from sant ji to baba manochahal, brahma, budhsinghwala to mintoo, these had enough vision to realise that if you want the sangaarsh to move forward, then all types of sikhs need to be involved, whether that is gursikhs, non gursikhs, male/female, young/old or anything else.
  3. Salute to this mahaan jodha who sacrificed his all for us, funding himself for the sangaarsh, turning his back on a successful business and the luxuries of the west.
  4. WJKK WJKF (This post is not here to name individuals or organisations, or hurt any person or organisations sentiments, please respect each others views and keep it civil in the replies.) I would like to raise awareness to the issues we are currently facing in the Panth and the way that many Sikhs are deluded and brainwashed by Cults/Jathas and Sikhi Camps, I want to push for some sort of answer to his problem so read the below story as I tried to make it as concise as possible. Recently, my sister who is 14, decided she wanted to attend a Sikhi- camp. I thought great idea, I will volunteer to be a Sevadar as I am a Amritdhari Singh and also can read/write punjabi, and everything will be great as the organisers were requesting a additional punjabi teaching volunteer, sister can have fun and I can get to meet new people and learn about my faith more... Cutting a long story short got the "job" as the punjabi teacher for the duration of the camp, aside from the standard type of hypocritical Amrithdaris, I was greeted with some overly happy looking Singhs who were one of the main organisers for the whole thing and , initially this seemed like a good thing, change of scene, positive environment, close with the guru etc. The day before the last day of camp everything had been going well aside from there being no hot water, during my session, a young singh asked if he can talk to me in private (A lot of the youths trusted me more than other volunteers), I said yeah sure, I was wondering what it was about, I thought the kid may be missing his family or something. Turns out, one of the organising Singhs last night went to this young singhs sleeping area and kissed him on the lips "Goodnight", and casually walked away. The young singh said he felt like he has been violated now because he hasn't even kissed a girl let alone ..., Furious as I was, I had a feeling he was telling the truth, I knew there was something dodgy about the key organising Singhs but just was not too sure of it. I went to the Singh immediately, took him to one side and asked him quietly what happened? He denied the whole thing, but said he did go check on the young Singh at night as he thought he heard someone walking around when doing Pehra. There was no proof he said, the youths word against the Singhs, and I was just a volunteer. As hard as it was I had to leave the camp with my sister, and I also instructed the other young singh to say he is ill or something and leave, he can come stay at ours with my, wife and daughter if he is scared of his parents, (as he is coming back early from camp and I have a spare room due to my son being at University). The young singh stayed over night at ours and he told the story to my wife while I questioned my daughter too see if she was ok. Thankfully, my daughter said she is good and, she was in my sight most of the camp anyway. My wife, said that this should be reported to the police immediately, I told her they won't do anything due to lack of evidence, no witnesses, cctv, forensics etc. We did end up going with the young Singh to his families house and explaining what had gone on. His parents are both from india, 1st language Punjabi, but have been in the UK for over 17 years. They didn't want to go to the police either, instead they just kept it hush and boycotted the organising Singhs projects. Heard from the young singh and he is doing better now going gym and focusing on his studies to recover from what is in my view a terrible incident, he has a few of his close friends supporting him and he knows me and my wife are only a phone call away if he ever needs a place to crash or hangout... contrary to his mates, the response from a lot of trusted sangat/singhs that I told, did not want to hear any of it. Its like half of them were like no the organising Singh is too pious, his kirtan skills are too good, reads bani etc he would never do that and other half was like they already knew these things went on and there isn't nothing we can do about it. But surely there is something we can do to prevent these situations? Wether you believe it or not, it does happen and can happen to anyone... its Kalyug. I did some research and I have read threads on this very site dating back from 2006 with similar allegations, we are in 2018 now... and many more carpet jobs have taken place in the last few years (without naming anyone or implicated any jatha) It is time we stopped trusting our children with cults and groups of strangers and "Singhs", not all singhs are bad but its hard to tell who is a masand and who is not, especially the amount of these groups where there are no women. Many of these Singhs do seem camp, not very warrior like. We need to draft up some sort of organised committee that keeps files of children attending Sikhism camps/and or involved in active jathas and who is responsible for there wellbeing, there should be a balance in males to females volunteer ratios at these camps, perhaps camp volunteers wear go pros? After all, many of them are not qualified to look after children, I certainly wasn't... maybe even some community police involvement? Perhaps a Sikh camp OFSTED (similar in schools where they are rated and inspected at random intervals). How can we prevent these cases happening and furthermore how can we go about actually punishing those involved when they are in a higher power place in society in terms of money, power, vocal skills, respect and following. Oh, and the organising Singh is raking in £$£$£ with his latest camp project acting like nothing has happened, even sent me hello messages on a few occasions which I obviously ignored :S

    The Truth about Jind Kaur

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! I have heard conflicting information regarding Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s wife Jind “Kaur” (only a Kaur in name). Shes often praised and seen as a role model for Kaurs. However, recently I have seen people say that she was corrupt and sleeping with the Dogra’s. What do you guys think?
  6. Wgjkk wgjkf i have a question. Why is it that some amritdharis experience naam and bani and some don't? Aren't we all supposed to experience it if we are given amrit? What should we do to experience it appropriately? thanks
  7. After seeing this in the news: http://www.firstpost.com/india/who-is-jaspal-atwal-khalistani-militant-convicted-of-trying-to-kill-punjab-minister-roils-india-canada-relations-4362871.html I was wondering if anyone has got more information about the khalistan movement in canada during the 80s/90s. I know the likes of Parmar, Bagri, Para, Kooner, Khera and now Raman etc are all well known, but there were many other actions that took place in Canada. The likes of jasbir Singh Atwal, Jaspal Singh Atwal, Amarjit Singh Dhindsa and Sukhdial Singh Gill, I also remeber hearing about another group of youth who tried doing Rajiv Gandhi on his visit there? Can anyone share any info as these are kurbaniyah that were taken by the youth during a dark period in our history. Advance Warning: IF YOU GOT NOTHING PRODUCTIVE TO SAY THEN PLEASE DONT COMMENT ON THIS THREAD lol

  12. Nearly 2 years since the 2015 Sarbat Khalsa in Chabba, where Jagtar Singh Hawara was announced as Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib, along with a number of good resolutions. 2 years later, Hawara is still in tihar jail in dehli, Simranjeet Singh Mann seems to be calling the Sarbat Khalsa appointed Jathedar of Damdama Sahib Baljit Singh Daduwal a congress agent, no justice for the shaheed singhs of behbal kalan or the culprits of Guru Granth Sahib Ji beadbi cases WHILE the sarkari jathedars are still in their positions, many nihang dals which were at Sarbat Khalsa are now appearing before the sarkari jathedars etc etc.... Any thoughts brothers and sisters?

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh I am a kaur, I have been amritari since I was a child. Just a few years ago, I was clinically depressed, and at some point last year, I couldn't bring myself to showerv every day, or anything. I didn't comb my hair for about a year due to depression, and now my hair is matted and impossible to comb. I still wear a dastaar but my hair is so rough and big, It's bundled up I want my old hair back, when it was long, silky, and beautiful. I do NOT want to cut it, obviously. But I am looking for advice. I don't know how to get my old hair back. I wish to never cut it. I know I've made a terrible mistake and I do ardaas, but please help me. What do you think I should do?

  22. Just watched this trailer of a project coming out in March I am conflicted ... on one hand it is in English, aimed at our young girls and also gives a role model in SIkhi to use for staying strong yet, why is it Mai Bhago looks like she has been to the salon, plucked eyebrows and has eyelashes which look like they are mascara-ed , she is also at least four shades lighter than the punjabi girl who is the protagonist? I am tired of the constant rebranding of how Sikh women should look to a eurocentric model ...and why was I not surprised to find it is a sikhnet movie

    Amritshak?

WJKK WJKF Hi so I'm currently in med school and I should be finishing in September 2015, i'm not going to practice picking up the degree and my parents know this part and there ok with my decision. So as being in med school I have been being more and more intrigued into sikhi and was wondering if someone can start guiding me how to start preparing for amrit of course this will take time as I want to be certain I can live that lifestyle. I mean Like to be honest I don't know punjabi or gurmukhi all to well that's one of my main issue I feel more comfortable in english but I'm willing to learn gurmukhi. I hope a singh or a kaur can guide me and put me on the right path.Hopefully like have daily talks so if I have any questions they can answer it. I'm 22 years old and I feel like its just a calling for me and just that I need help who can practically be my teacher, and if someone does respond to my message I will gladly private message them.
