    Is this proper gurmat?

So back in the day my mom would do her part in front of this thaal. It has the images of the ten gurus on a little glass frame along with two photos on each side with Guru Nanak. She even has a second thaal with inscense that she lights and puts on the first thaal when she reads dukh bhanjani sahib. At the end she would matha tek to it and put it back on top of a shelf. She's since stopped and reads her bani properly now, but we still have the plate on top of the fridge. Does anyone else know where she would've picked this practice up? She's a delhi wali if that helps.

    Pakhandvaad?

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh I had a question about what one should do (after they brush their Kesh) with the dead hairs that are cleaned out with the kanga... I used know a lot of taksali Singh's who said it was necessary to collect them up, the eventually do sanskar by burning them (trying to maintain as much satkar as possible), but now from my current understanding I'm starting to feel ritualistic about this. Please help me understand if it's correct or wrong. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
