  1. The Sarbat Khalsa scheduled to be held at Talwandi Sabo (Bathinda) on November 10 has been postponed indefinitely. The decision to postpone the Sarbat Khalsa came hours after Simranjeet Singh Mann withdrew petition against denial of permission to hold the congregation. The organisers alleged that the State Government was hell bent on not allowing Sarbat Khalsa to be held. The organisers of the congregation, including the parallel Takht “Jathedars” and the Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) led by Simranjit Singh Mann, took this decision at an undisclosed location in Haryana late this evening. The decision was announced by the organisers by issues a ‘hand-written’ press statement in Punjabi on the letter head of ‘parallel’ Jathedar of Takht Damdama Sahib, Talwandi Sabo. It read that the Sarbat Khalsa programme stands postponed, and no new date has been announced as yet. The statement was signed by signed by Baba Baljit Singh Daduwal, who was appointed Takht Damdama Sahib jathedar by the previous Sarbat Khalsa. To decide the next course of action, a meeting of the panthic representatives of the organisers has been called on November 10, which will be held at Gurdwara Baba Budha Johar in Rajasthan at 12 noon. 2. Just 4 days before the announced Sarbat Khalsa, The Punjab Government today denied permission for organising the second ‘Sarbat Khalsa’ at Talwandi Sabo in Bathinda on November 10. In a related development, it intensified crackdown against the organisers by taking 190 persons in preventive custody, while detaining hundreds of others. 4. Daas really wanted to know this, as in the Sarbat Khalsa of 1986 everyone had accepted a new person as Jathedar of the Akal Takht, but when Jagtar Singh became the Jathedar; the SGPC openly denies it ever happening. (They both became Jathedar because of the Sarbat Khalsa). Can anyone also tell Daas why there would need to be a separate Jathedar of GurSikhs and Gurmukhs; (Sarbat Khalsa Jathedars), and one for Manmukhs and Mahapaapis, (SGPC Jathedars)?
  5. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! This is the first main time Gursikhs are going to the Gurmukh Akal Takht, while the other thing, (not a Takht) goes around pretending like they have authority. https://www.sikh24.com/2016/06/08/sikhs-approach-sk-jathedars-regarding-virginia-amrit-sanchar-giani-gurbachan-singh-excommunicates-granthi-and-associates/#.V2hNC_fD_qA
  6. Panthic Conference to be held at DamDama Sahib on 13 April - SAD (Amritsar) and Organising members of Sarbat Khalsa 2015.
  7. Full News: http://singhstation.net/2016/04/no-sarbat-khalsa-during-vaisakhi-2016/ Amritsar: The proposed second Sarbat Khalsa (grand congregation of Sikhs), which was scheduled to be held by various Sikh groups on the occasion of Vaiskahi on April 13, has been postponed in the absence of Sarbat Khalsa appointed Acting Jathedar Bhai Dhian Singh Mand, who is currently in Nabha jail. “Mand is in jail so we have decided to postpone the Sarbat Khalsa, but we will hold a Panthic conference at Takht Damdama Sahib on Vaisakhi,” Panthic Sewa Lehar president Baljit Singh Daduwal told media on Thursday. While addressing a press conference Bhai Baljit Singh Daduwal and Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala, who were appointed as Jathedar of Takhat Damdama Sahib and Takhat Kesgarh Sahib respectively, said that it was not feasible to hold Sarbat Khalsa 2016 on Vaisakhi as most of the organizers of the Sarbat Khalsa 2015 were arrested by the Punjab police in sedition case registered after November 10 event at Chabba village. Daduwal added that they were hopeful that Mand would be released soon following which they would hold a meeting to chalk out their Vaisakhi programme. “Since we wouldn’t be left with much time to make arrangements of the Sarbat Khalsa, its time and venue could be changed,” he said, adding that the announcement of Sarbat Khalsa would be made on Vaisakhi. Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) general secretary Jarnail Singh Sakhira said, “There is much enthusiasm about the Sarbat Khalsa in Sikh circles. It is postponed since our acting jathedar is in jail but we will make an announcement soon.”
  8. I am new here as a member but have been a silent reader for a long time. Had some questions so decided to register and discuss here. I want to know - can our institutions ever work the way we envision them? Can all Sikhs unite as Panth and accept decisions? Can all Sikhs accept Akal Takht hukamnamas? We have restrictions of different states, countries, different laws. Can entire Sikh community accept all decisions of Akal Takht, Sarbat Khalsa? Can Sarbat Khalsa ever successfully represent aspirations of all Sikhs? Immediately after this year's Sarbat Khalsa, Sikhs from states like Rajasthan, Haryana, UP started announcing that they did not support all resolutions of Sarbat Khalsa. They said they only wanted Akal Takht to be free from Badal influence. They either criticised decisions to appoint Hawara as Jathedar, commitment to resolutions of Sarbat Khalsa 1986 or chose not to comment at all. Some Sikhs in Punjab and diaspora also spoke against Sarbat Khalsa. So are our institutions workable as we envision them? Will Sikhs accept decisions? Or will their personal opinions or geographical, ideological and other limitations always prevent resolutions and hukamnamas from being supported? Before someone starts talking about Khalistan, let me clarify that this problem would have arisen even if we had Khalistan. What about Sikhs who were living outside Khalistan? Would they have been able to accept all decisions? Please discuss and share your viewpoints. I find it all confusing seeing Sikhs scattered in various parts of the world and all having different POVs.
  9. Pulling out all stops in its attempt to outdo the recent Sarbat Khalsa gathering in Amritsar, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) put together a largely attended gathering for its “Sadbhavna Rally” at Goniana, near Bathinda. DISCLAIMER – We understand that the concept of Sarbat Khalsa is incomparable to any other rally, however this article is not aimed at discussing the eternal spirit of Sarbat Khalsa but instead to discuss the overview of how Badals tried to run their Bathinda rally to overmark Sarbat Khalsa 2015 congregation. this article is not aimed at discussing the internal discrepancies or invisible Motives involved in the organization of Sarbat Khalsa but is written from the point of view of how a common man participated in the event and which one was more directed at ‘Real Sadhbhavna’ without force. 10. This video shows all the jathedars and leaders being together when the news reported them being sent to different prisons. It doesn't look like they are being held captive, they are all in a friendly mood.
  11. Is it fair to state that parcharaks/sants/jathe that failed to appear at Sarbat Khalsa can be labelled as gadars of the panth? In particular I find it outrageous that Sant Ranjit Singh, Bhai Panthpreet Singh and Bhai Pinderpal Singh failed to show after what they stated over the last few weeks. It appears that these parcharaks are sell-outs. Bhul Chak Mar Karna if I offended anyone.
  12. guru pyari sangat ji waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki fathe. sangat ji do you all think SGPC will let new jathedars to take over there takhts. and if not then how then takhts will be liberated from SGPC
  13. So Bhai Hawara has the mandate of the vast majority of the Sikhs gathered at the Sarbat Khalsa. Therefore the agents of evil and corruption ie SGPC, Badal clan, Indian govt, BJP and the rest have now no authority or say over in Sikh religious-political affairs. I am wondering when will the changes be implemented? Is there a time frame to remove the pakhandi fake Sikh leaders and implement the installation of new leaders in their respective posts.
  14. FULL READ: Sarbat Khalsa 2015 – The Good, Not so Great and the Bad! Over half a million Sikhs gathered at historic Baba Naudh Singh Gurduara today. Who knows how many more Sikhs watched and followed the proceedings via TV, live streaming and social media. Something that many of us thought would never occur in our lives just actually happened. 13 Resolutions passed (for the full text please see: Official Resolutions from Sarbat Khalsa 2015). So where do we go from here. Well first, let’s look at Sarbat Khalsa 2015. The Good: 1. Legitimacy of Sarbat Khalsa – This Sarbat Khalsa’s legitimacy was being called into question long before it began; that has only intensified now. Was this a perfect Sarbat Khalsa? No, far from it but we must keep in mind too that hundreds of thousands of Kaurs and Singhs came to Chabba Pind despite government persecution and harassment. A half million Sikhs travelled from across South Asia and beyond to come to Baba Naudh Singh Gurduara which is remarkable considering our circumstances and the timeline we were working with. One day, a true, representative Sarbat Khalsa with representation of all Panthik regional groups and organizations will occur but this was an incredibly inspiring start. This may not have been perfect or ideal, but it was a true gathering of the Sikh Nation. 2. The Resolutions are (generally) great. If we ignore the first resolution (which I know is the most important in the short term), the resolutions were well thought out, expressed in accordance with the spirit of Gurmat and are not completely impossible to implement. Am I happy with them all? No. Is anyone? No. That’s the whole point of consensus based democracy. Nobody in the Panth can ever be completely happy. There’s always going to be issues some of us would have wanted discussed. Things that we feel went too far or not far enough. That’s a good thing, not a bad thing. This is how Sarbat Khalsas are supposed to work. Full Read: http://singhstation.net/2015/11/sarbat-khalsa-2015-the-good-not-so-great-and-the-bad/

  18. Chandigarh: Certain Sikh organisations and scholars have expressed reservations on call for Sarbar Khalsa by the United Akali Dal (UAD) and Shiromani AKali Dal Amritsar (Mann). Representatives of the Sikh bodies along with various Sikh scholars have urged Bhai Mohkam Singh of the UAD, Simranjeet Singh Mann of SAD (Mann) and other leaders that the congregation proposed to be held on November 10 in Amritsar should not be named Sarbat Khalsa. They suggested that the gathering should be named as Panthic convention instead. As per information a meeting was held at Kendri Sri Guru Singh Sabha office yesterday where the scholars passed a resolution telling the organisers of the Sarbat Khalsa that there was a tradition, code of conduct and philosophy under which such a congregation (Sarbat Khalsa) is held. The congregation to be held in Amritsar on November 10 could not be called Sarbat Khalsa as it had been scheduled without following the procedure and tradition, they stated. They, however, admitted that there is need to revive the Sikh institution of the Sarbat Khalsa but said that the organizations calling for the Sarbar Khalsa on November 10 have not followed the protocol to call the Sarbat Khalsa. Among the scholars were Giani Kewal Singh, Bhai Ashok Singh Bagarian, Navkiran Singh, Prof Gurdarshan Singh Dhillon, Harsimran Singh, Karamjit Singh, Gurpreet Singh and representatives of political organisations including Harpal Singh Cheema and Satnam Singh Panota Sahib. Representatives of Institute of Sikh Studies, International Sikh Confederation, Sikh Missionary College (Ludhiana), Sikh Youth of Punjab and Khalsa Panchayat were also present at the meeting. While talking to the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) Prof. Gurdarshan Singh Dhillon said as per Sikh tenets, first issues were framed for Sarbat Khalsa and then opinion of different sections of the Sikh panth were sought on those issues. Then that issue was clinched at Sarbat Khalsa He said a decision had been taken to set up a committee to prepare the framework for laying down the procedure, rules and regulations to convene Sarbat Khalsa. The committee would meet Sikh organisations all over the world to prepare the draft of the report. It has come to the knowledge of the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) some Sikh sections, including some diaspora sections, are engaged in the activity to make consensus amongst various sections of the Sikh panth to organize a Global Sarbat Khalsa. http://sikhsiyasat.net/2015/10/30/scholars-sikh-groups-differ-from-sad-mann-uad-on-10-nov-sarbar-khalsa/
