  1. FULL NEWS: Punjab Govt Rejects Bhai Gurdeep Singh Khera’s parole pleaAmritsar – Punjab Police & Punjab Govt has once again shown their anti-Sikh facet by rejecting the parole application of Bhai Gurdeep Singh Khera, who was recently transferred to Punjab Jail. As per media reports, it has been learnt that the rural police had submitted a negative report fearing that he may attempt to flee and could cause a law and order problem if parole was granted. The final authority on granting parole, Deputy Commissioner Ravi Bhagat, confirmed that the parole plea of Khera has been rejected as per the feedback received from the Office of Senior Superintendent of Police (Rural). SSP (Rural) Jasdeep Singh said that the reason cited by Khera for parole was not convincing. Khera had mentioned in his application that he intends to get his house repaired and therefore, needs to avail parole. “As per precedent, our team visited his native place to enquire about his intentions and did not get positive feedback. The reason he mentioned — house repair — too was found to be frivolous. All these reasons didn’t justify his parole plea. Accordingly, the report was submitted to the DC’s office to take a final call,” he said. Old parents of Bhai Gurdeep Singh Khera Bhai Khera (55), a native of Jallupur Khera village in Amritsar, was booked under the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities Prevention Act (TADA) and later sentenced to life imprisonment in two cases registered in 1996 in New Delhi and Karnataka. 2. ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫਤਿਹ Struggle to continue until the release of Sikh Detainees, says Bapu Surat Singh’s son Ludhiana, Punjab: Ravinderjit Singh Gogi, son of fasting Sikh activist Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa reprotedly stated that the struggle for the permanent release of Sikh political prisoners would continue until their release. He was presented in the Court by the Police with his hands cuffed in chains on March 19. The authorities deferred the next debate in the case to April 1st. It is notable that handcuffing a person charged under 107/151 seems anomalous. Ravinderjit Singh Gogy reportedly said that he would continue fighting the struggle initiated by his father for the release of Sikh Detainees until it becomes fruitful. He appealed the Sikh masses to unite on a common platform to ensure the success of the struggle. It may be recalled that Ravinderjit Singh was arrested taken into custody Punjab Police on February 26 and was sent to Ludhiana Jail levelling false charges against him. Meanwhile, Ravinder Jit Singh's father; Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa, remains under police custody at Civil Hospital of Ludhiana where he is being force-fed by the doctors.
  3. ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫਤਿਹ https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/ask-government-india-free-sikh-prisoners-who-have-finished-their-sentences-given-them-courts/c3fztfn0 WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO: Ask Government of India to free Sikh prisoners who have finished their sentences given to them by the courts. Several Sikhs who were jailed by Government of India for supporting the demand of Free Sikh Homeland have completed their sentences given to them by the Indian courts. However Government of India continues to refuse to release them from jails and is keeping them indefinitely. Sikhs across India continue their struggle to secure the release of those imprisoned illegally by peaceful means such as hunger strikes. In reply to a previous petition about Sikh genocide, administration has acknowledged the human rights violations against Sikhs in India. We would like to urge President Obama’s administration to use its influence to help end human rights violations against all minorities in India and to help secure the release of those who are still imprisoned even after completing their sentences. 4. Tihar jail, Delhi – On the morning of 4th January 2015, a very special Gurpurb programme was held within the confines of Tihar Jail in New Delhi, to commemorate the parkash purab of Guru Gobind Singh. The Tihar complex is made up of a number of jails, each containing over 3,000 inmates. Among the Sikh political prisoners lodged in Tihar are Jagtar Singh Hawara, Parmjit Singh Bheora and Daya Singh Lahoria. Sikh prisoners are rarely allowed to hold a religious function, although other faiths regularly observe their own holy days. It requires a great deal of effort by the Sikh inmates to get the necessary go-ahead. But yesterday, all the inmates in one jail, regardless of their beliefs, were invited to a Kirtan diwan and to partake in the Guru ka Langar which was served afterwards, provided by the Delhi Gurdwara Parbhandak Committee. Apaardeep Singh (UK) and his jatha performed blissful kirtan and the final ardaas prayed for the unity and freedom of the Sikh nation. The Parshaad (blessed food) was distributed among the entire Tihar complex – including jail wardens and staff. Jagtar Singh Hawara addressed the Sangat for a few moments to commend the welfare provided by Sikh Relief (SOPW) and how it is a lifeline to those who find themselves imprisoned for their beliefs, to know that their families are being taken care of, while their own legal battle is fought on their behalf. Sikh Relief volunteer Sarbpreet Singh was granted permission to attend and among the others present were Manpreet Singh, Kuldeep Singh Batali and Mohinderpal Singh all from Akali Dal (Mann). 5. AMBALA – Almost a year later, Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa has relaunched his protest as of 15th November at Gurdwara Lakhnaur Sahib in Ambala demanding release of six Sikh political prisoners who have already completed their prison term. After being denied permission and a venue to restart his hunger strike in Punjab ruled by SAD-BJP, Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa began fast-unto-death in BJP-ruled Haryana near Ambala on Friday. Besides the six Sikh political prisoners, whose release he demanded during his 44-day hunger strike in November-December 2013, Khalsa has also included the name of Bhai Devenderpal Singh Bhullar in the list Source: http://singhstation.net/2014/11/bhai-gurbaksh-singh-goes-die-protest-sikh-political-prisoners/
