Guru Gobind Singh Ji And The Rock

Recommended Posts

WJKK WJKF,

a sakhi... (from tapoban.org)

The guru came into the congregation today in a different manner. He was playing with a rock, tossing it back and forth in his hands. The disciples of the guru asked him to share his reason for doing that. He then instructed a Sikh to go and get a bucket full of water and return. The disciple ran and brought back the bucket and placed it before the guru. Guru Gobind Singh Ji then released the rock from his hands into the bucket full of water. He then asked “Has the rock drowned”?. Sikhs came forward to see whether it had or not, then proclaimed, “yes it has drowned”. The guru than brought the next question for his disciples, “Why has the rock drowned?” The Sikhs were dumbfounded, and replied “ but Guru Ji it is a rock, it must drown”. The Guru questioned a few times but no one had the answer. The Guru then all a sudden looked towards Bhai Nand Lal and saw his eyes were filled up with water. He then questioned Bhai Nand Lal “Everyone here is guessing why don’t you tell the sangat, why the rock has drown?. Stand up oh Nand Lal, and tell them why”. Bhai Nand Lal then stood up and uttered,” oh my true father, the keeper of the white flock, That rock has drowned because it left your hands”.

Waheguru ohmy.gif wonderful saakhi...

...humans have this thing called 'buoyancy' which keeps them afloat (unless they like can totally not swim or do doggy paddle- God first offers us a protective emergency saviour). A buoyancy aid is lilke those orange puffy life-jackets; so everybody take a deep breath- and say Waaaaaaaaaaah-e-Gurrrrrrrrrrroooooooooooo (remeber to exhale too!)

Satnaam!

Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

I was listening to some Veechar by Baba Ranjit Singh Dhaddrian Vale. They were talking about the purpose of Sakhis:

We listen to Sakhis or inspirational stories about the Gurus or Sikhs of the past only so that our life can become a Sakhi or inspiration towards others. For example, such were the Sakhis and inspiration provided by Sant Gurbachan Singh and Sant Kartar Singh to Sant Jarnail Singh, that Sant Jarnail Singh's life is a Sakhi for us all.

May Guru Jee give us his Kirpaa so that our Jeevan becomes Sakhis as well. pray.gifpray.gifpray.gif
