Anandpur Sahib (KP) - This Thursday on Vaisakhi day, a massive Amrit Sanchar was held at Gurdwara Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib at Sri Ananpur Sahib. About 7,000 Sikhs from all over India were baptised at six venues till evening. The Amrit Sanchar began at 3 am in the morning on April 14 and continued till Friday.

The program was organised by Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. Bibi Jagir Kaur said that Sri Anandpur Sahib was chosen as the place for the Amrit Sanchar, as it was the birthplace of the Khalsa, where Guru Gobind Singh Ji gave Amrit to the Panj Piareh in 1699. Sikhs from Gujrat, Bihar and other parts of the region attended the samagam, and numbers of aspiring candidates got baptised into the Sikh fold.
