1. It says 10 months, but generally a child is born after 9 months.

Reason: one month less or more dosn't matter. Or please help me out on this one... ??

first one i dont know i assume cuz sometimes births get late and i guess it becomes 10 months iunno but i believe simritees are hindu holy books like Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji for us and the Philosopher`s Stone turns the 8 metals into gold, and Guru Ji like the Philosopher`s Stone turns ordinary people into Gurmukhs... like in Harry Potter and the Philosopher`s Stone :) if i've said anything wrong Bhul Chuk Maaf

I think the ten months thing has to do with the differences between now and then. Given two possible options, it could either be

1. Either people didn't keep good track of what day/month it was

or

2. They were working off of a lunar calendar. when u consider that a month is about 30 days, and the lunar is 28, it would give you an extra 18 or so days, thus, the extra month.

and it's Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone. Any Pot-head knows that, and I'm one big Pot-head rolleyes.gif

Khalsa Jee,

Without complications a woman would give birth after nine months after the date of conception,

First month would be from conception to 4 weeks,

Second month = 4 - 8 weeks,

Third month = 8 - 12 weeks,

Forth month = 12 - 16 weeks,

Fifth month = 16 - 20 weeks,

Sixth month = 20 - 24 weeks,

Seventh month = 24 - 28 weeks,

Eight month = 28 - 32 weeks,

Ninth month = 32 - 36 weeks,

Tenth month = 36 - 40 weeks.

So as you see nine months would be 9 * 4 weeks = 36 weeks, and since pregnancy lasts about 38 weeks, it would come into the tenth month. Infact any date after nine months comes into the tenth month.

Hindu Holy Scriptures that talk about life.
