Probably. What evidence you want ? This is not exactly like a big corporation splitting up hence big newspaper adverts etc.

Im reading the intro essay to "Struggle For Justice: Speeches and Conversations of Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindrawale" and it says the following:

Babbars are known to have consistently opposed Sant Bhindrawale.  According to India Today[1], their leader Sukhdev Singh said:  "We have nothing to do with Bhindranwale who is  basically a coward."  Sukhdev Singh was instrumental in making false accusations against the Sant[2].

From my reading so far, it seems as though Babbar Khalsa and Sant ji we not "friends" for the most part of the epoch, but came together when Harmandhir Sahib was attacked. In other sections of the intro essay, it also says that Sant Ji condemned all of the violent attacks that occured against Hindus even when Babbar Khalsa announced responsibilty.
