If you are going to walk down this path. Noone is going to congratulate you, noone is going to give you a pat on the back, the community will not support you or your family and very few people will remember you when you are gone.

This is a hard fact that exists both in India and in the Uk. Anyone who wants to walk this path needs to think long and hard before they walk on it. It is not glamourous and it is not pleasant. Think about it hard....

well why shouldnt they b praised for their efforts by our community? wats the difference in what their doing (forming groups/vigilantes) and what khalsa misls did in their time. We r short in numbers, but limitless in heart and courage, mona or amritdhari. Sadly we got a lot of pappus around r community, these pappus were even around r gurus times. guru hargobind promised in his young age he would avenge his dads (guru arjan dev ji) shaheedi, ppl laughed at him, sikhi had never raised arms before that period. all pappus were proved wrong in the end, when yrs later chandu was dragged by his nose from gwalior to lahore and killed.

Pappu is a word created by violent nutjobs to describe the rest of the world that wants to live peacefully and avoid bloody streetfights every other day. The real word they should be using to describe these law abiding, working citizens is 'normal people'.

As far as violent, militant action is concerned.. it has its time and place no doubt. My response to you in my earlier post was not to state whether or not they should be praised, merely to state the fact that they wont be. Most 'normal people' or pappus as you have described them dont want to get involved in violence just because some testosterone hyped youth think that they should.

Whether the SP boys were right or wrong to do what they did, there are probably valid arguments on either side of the coin. However, my original point still stands... this path is a lonely path and one that you have to think long and hard before you embark on it. Dont do it with the misguided belief that everyone will want to shake your hand, make statues in your honour or write songs about you. They wont.

There are very few things in life that would cause me to walk that path. Some peoples threshold is much less than mine. However, there are lots of youth that have walked the path and then regretted it afterwards... dont be that guy!

he wont understand bro..hes an older man with a family and kids...he hasnt seen what weve seen in this generation concerning our youth...the pappu mentality has done so much damage to the panth..i blame them with the majority of our communities problems..burying your head in the sand and brushing everything under the carpet doesnt solve anything...i salute the kahrkoo minded youth..i agree with him on one point though..the path of sacrifice is a lonely one..dont expect reward from your community...the only benefit from kurbaani is the afterlife...

100% my friend

even seen sikhs condemn suicide bombers, which is ridiculous, theres nothing wrong with suicide bombing, as long its in a controlled manner, n it eliminates the chosen evil person. these islamic suicide bombers have given the word such a badname, coz they shamelessly bomb an entire school/area looking for one specific person.

look at dilawer singh babbar who killed that kuttha beant singh in a suicide bomb attack, n lets not forget the glorious two little kurriyan, satnam/waheguru kaur 8 n 6 yrs old children of brahmin converts to sikhi, who blew up advancing tanks at harmandar sahib, in 1984, superb shaheedis!

the pappu mentality sadly i reckon wont ever go. thats y u have kuttey like bobby friction/hardeep kohli calling sikhs mini bhindrawales wen they rise up to situations like uk rioting last summer!

Woah. Is this true? Why has nobody mentioned this before?

Friction and Kohli - an embarrassment to Sikhs for varying reasons. They actually think they're role models! :biggrin2:

do these prooblems still exist like r muslims still trying to attack sikhs nd how did ths all orginate in canada muslims fear sikhs nd sometimes say there punjabi to avoid confrontation

They say they're 'Punjabi' because they ARE Punjabi. In fact, 75% of all Punjabis on earth are Pakistani muslims. What makes the England Pakistanis unique, and very very different to Canadian Pakistanis, is the fact that 80% of Pakistanis in England are Mirpuris. The Pakistani Punjabis in England are exactly the same as their kin in Canada. They get on with us Sikhs well and would much rather socialise and mix with us Sikhs than the Mirpuris. Amongst Pakistanis generally, the Mirpuris are seen as jangli lok....lazy backward criminals. Add that fact to the fact that, unlike you canadians, both they and we do not live in the suburbs. We, and they, are by and large an inner city community. Social cohesion problems that are endemic in the inner cities are beyond the comprehension of surburban wallas.
