i can't believe singhnia's standards are sinking so low that they have to go out with guys to satisfy their ego. Singhnia usually go out with people from outside their own religion (not that going out with someone in your own religion is good) to feel like they fit into society, they believe that they look ‘different’ and by many westerners views ‘masculine’. Let’s face it most singhnia are self conscious and want to look beautiful hence the wearing fashionable tight clothing and going out with guys showing their femininity. Like myself before I wore a dastar I used to be a total tom boy wearing guys clothes sports clothes and I never got any reaction from people nor did I ever feel uncomfortable in what I wore thinking people might assume im a dude. So after I started wearing a dastar and continued with my tom boy look I got very negative responses from people like famliy members saying don't wear baggy clothes your going to look like a guy. Most comments were from my fellow Sikhs asking my parents if im their son.

Anyway where was i. I don’t think this particular situation is mere lust although lust exists, your friend has some inner issues she needs to deal with. this little bubble she's living in will soon pop and then she'll be brought back to earth to face her consequences. from the knowledge i have of goths is they like doing extreme things and being different and are anti-everything i think he's probably just going out wiht this singhni because he wants to a make statement. basically he's using her and this will never last so why bother even going out with him.

maybe your friend needs counselling, i do feel for her she seems like a confused child. The only thing you can do is show her how disgusted you are and treat her like she has a disease that usually works. im sorry i don't know where i was going with this post doesn't make sense

Btw I hope singhnia don’t start going on with the chavs who wear adidas bottoms and hoody’s with yellow teeth hanging around town with 1 gcse with nothing better to do.Seriously

I hate goths, over here in Uk we have a problem with chavs and yobs

Hate...You hate people just they are different from you and dress differently. You dont even know the boy and from you disgusting attitude, i doubt you have ever spoken to one. Goths are not bad people just coz they dont worship a god or don't have a faith. Stop being so ignorant, he won't hurt her just beacuse he does not worship god.

Can you imagine people saying, i hate sikhs...maybe just coz they wear turbans or look different to other folk?

Sometimes i wonder about people. i really really do..

But as for the girl, have a word with her. im sure she will listen but don't make out this boy is bad, just because you may perceive goths as bad people. they aren't half bad, in fact they are just kids with a dark sense of humour. They arent all bad.

Kiran Kaur Bhain Ji, to be perfectly honest the credibility of your comments is not helped by the fact that you have a male celebrity as your display picture who I am sure is fantasized over by various young western teenage girls in many different countries.

seems like she knows what she is doing but just rebelling...

you can only tell someone so much but if they don't wanna listen then what can you do.....it's her Sikhi thats being affected so let her do what she wants...if she's amritdhari then she must know the implications

i wouldn't tell her parents at this stage, not a wise idea

People can find romance which is virtuous in people of different or no faith. Just because someone has a different faith doesn't mean they are just full of lust or are not a good partner. It's up to the individual to make their decisions. If she thinks it's right for her why interfere?

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
