Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa. Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.

what does "Sat Sri Akal" maen?

someone told me that it means "The Great 7 Heavens".

but we, Sikhs, dont believe in 7 heavens right?

i heard that Jews, Christians, Muslims, (and some Hindus) believe in seven heavens.

but i though Sat Sri Akal meant "True God is True Heaven."

or somewhere around that...im sorry if i'm wrong. pray.gif

please fill me up on this.

i have no clue. blush.gif

peace...

Sat= True like sach. Or like Sat Naam.

Sri= exalted. Very special and very high.

Akaal= timeless. Kaal means time, putting "a" in front means without. like Joonee means life form but "ajoonee" means the opposite. So Akaal means vahiguru, the immortal (timeless) one.

Put it all together it means True is the Exalted Timeless One.

  • 2 weeks later...

yeh i second that

its more sri ... pronounced sree not siree... notice the "pairee raaraa" on the papa and no sihari...

sirh = head so sirhi would mean something along the lines of "upon head"...
