Procrastination and the desire for perfection are often related. It if it is to the point where it is affecting the functioning of your life, don’t hesitate to speak to a school counselor.

You will not impress friends; rather lose them if you continue to rub it in. Start doing paht right away. It is probably the best beginning to refocusing yourself. Don’t be afraid of rejection; learn that making mistakes means that you are learning. Perfectionism unchecked will lead you to a life where you don’t take necessary chances to get ahead because you fear making mistakes. At this point, you can still do well in school. However, there will come a point in school and life where turning on the jets at the last moment will not work.

Realize that there is no such thing as perfect, as what is perfect to one person is valueless to another. Alternatively, look at perfection as follows: Often those who do very well in school but lead balanced, humble lives are more “perfect” than those who may be at the top of the class, but at a great expense otherwise. Many "high acheivers" are very unhappy. Be a healthy high acheiver.

Set reasonable goals, not unrealistic ones. Set time limits for tasks. Draw up a schedule for the next day with specific times when you will start and stop an activity and STICK TO IT. Think of this schedule of the measuring stick, not your current aspirations which are becoming a problem.
