Serious Concerns For Future Of Punjabi Girls In Uk

Recommended Posts

I've just been checking out hi5.com and seeing various profiles in Sikh groups and I can not believe my eyes.... I thought Apnay guys were bad... but seeing these profiles you will get a picture of the state of apniya in UK and around the world.

They think drinking is acceptable being Sikh, so is acting like slappers and dressing half naked, showing the world they cheap and easy.

The consequences for our future generations is having no decency, loose morals where Women are treated like sex objects used and abused and faith and God is far removed from thought. Contrast our so called lot with majority of Muslim girls profiles you would begin to admire them and respect them, if you didnt already before.

Anyone else feel things are going from bad to worse and action needs to be taken?

After having a look at that site, I have to say that what you are seeing is probably not a true reflection of the Sikh community in the UK. They are online groups, anyone can join and paste any kind of picture and say anything they want.... Don't take the internet too seriously is my advice.

I agree with Ishna.

I dont think this is a true perception of the whole Sikh community.

I've lived away from home for years (in Manchester, UK) whilst studying and researching at the University and I've noticied that its often the girls (of ANY ethnic origin) who have moved away from home and are living in uni. accomodation who become 'wild' and off the beaten track.

This is something that is linked to their upbringing i.e. the punjabi community itself.

I admire Muslim women, but I've equally seen many muslim girls who dress 'down' so to speak.

However, again, this is something that I think will start to fade as our generation and our kids start to grow up.

I'm not saying we have to accept the Western lifestyle, but these kids are growing up in a WESTERN environment....so what do you expect them to do? Of course they will start to adopted parts of this lifestyle.

We just have to make sure we teach them some good values and not lock them up in the house, which will make them rebell more.

Generally however, it's usually seen in student areas...they wouldn't dare do stuff like that when they were at home..

By the way...this disucssion is ALSO related to GUYS as well as girls...so it's not just the girls who are wild, they guys are also the same.

A little bit of common sense and education in our youth will lead to them thriving, rather then what we see now...asian druggies, asian prostitutes, asian robbers, asian killers.

With Wahagurus Kirpa, they will see the light and see they have options in life and can lead a civilised lifestyle whilst also being successful.

Sikh Supreme

Sikhs treat women like trash. The treatment of women by Sikh men is disgraceful as it is. Do you not think that Sikh men have attitudes that need to be addressed? Like the domestic violence, honour killings, female foeticide through abortion, the sexism of Sikh families, that kind of thing? Or do you think these things are acceptable?

And besides, what do you want to achieve and how are you going to achieve it? Do you suggest leading a mass campaign to chain women and put them in burqa? Then what is the difference between you and the Taliban?

Thirdly, what were you doing on the site, looking at pictures of girls like that anyway?

Anyone else feel things are going from bad to worse and action needs to be taken?

What action do you suggest taking? I would be interested to hear your ideas on what we can do. Its not that I find their behaviour tasteful, in fact I dislike it, but I am really curious as to what action you are thinking you might take? I also wonder why this kind of thing gets people riled up whilst Sikh men are battering women, murdering them, and aborting girls in the womb every single day, without so much as a whimper from lots of Sikh men.

Also, Sikh men these days carry out unhealthy things, including promiscuity, looking at porn, smoking, drinking. Why single out women for action to be taken when Sikh men are just as bad? Or do you overlook them doing it for some reason?

No Prem Sikhs dont treat women like trash. Sikh's of the Guru respect sisters of the faith. Islam has a worse record on women's human rights than any other faith yet their women are even the most liberal are quick to defend Islam to the hilt.

I wasn't gonna make this thread but I saw one profile of a punjabi girl giving it large how she was proud to be Sikh and supporting Khalistan yet in the profile she admits to drinking and smoking and from what I gather sleeping around. That made me see red.... and if girls dedicated to Sikhi can behave in such a manor what hope is there to tell girls who know nothing about Sikhi.

I can give you the link to the profile and you can view for yourself what bakwas she and many of her so called Sikh's have on their profiles.

I agree with alot with what you have said there, yes with waheguru ji's kipa we should help them change. I can't sit back and watch them disgrace themselves and Sikhi.

Can I suggest we pm people who need to fix up on hi5, cos basically they are ruining their own futures showing the world what they get upto and for a girl if she's known to be a slag, easy, used and abused it will become very difficult to get a decent guy for marriage so im thinking about their futures aswell.

Tottaly agree with the very first statement.

I go to a college full of these idiots, who make me and other sikhs feel sick at the sight of them.

They have no place in society or religion.

What we need is older lads like SP (the originals, not todays fakesters) who basically enusred these kind of things did not happen (eg daytimers, binge drinkin "sessions".

THEY ONLY DO IT BECAUSE THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH IT

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
