Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

One more thing...suppose alot of people without taking Amrit began wearing Kirpans around... I just hope that never happens because, if someone mis-uses it, its going to effect the right of all AMRITDHARIS to wear Kirpans in public. This is a serious issue, some kid uses it inappropriately, and the government begins putting bans on it.

i understand ur points.. the meaning of Kirpan must be understood as well..

i dont think ppl who are monas should wear kirpans.. but sikhs who love Sikh and want to learn more and keep their 5ks.. and continue on the path towards amrit in my opinion should be able to carry a kirpan..

surrey singh, correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe you said that no non-amritdhari should have any of the k's on him, for if he does then he is an imposter ( i use he as a generality, just in case tehre's anyone who gets offended by it).

How can you go on putting on Kakkars, without taking Amrit?

therefore, a non-amritdhari should not even BEGIN to grow his hair till after he has taken amrit. Kesh being kakkar, and kakkar being only worn by amritdharis.

Sat Sri Akal:

This is where the word Sehajdhari comes into play. Sehajdhari means slow-adopter. So as a person progresses in Sikhism, they adopt more and more of the Rehat Maryada (ex. grow their hair, put on a kara, keep a kanga etc.) and o more and more Nitnem Banis (start with one Bani, add another, add another, add another etc.) until the Sikh is able to keep the Rehat Maryada fully. Then, the Sehajdhari, after being able to sustain the Rehat takes amrit. Such methodology was employed by Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh Ji and is still the method the Damdami Taksal recommends.

But unlike many monas who call themselves Sehajdhari, you must progress!!!!!!

but japmans veer, kes is a given...i mean, it's already on your body, it's not something that you buy from khalsa school and put on your body.. it's already naturally there.. that's why it confuses me about whether the kakaar is kes or keski.. :T: .. i wouldn't know.. i can't say anything til i practice it myself..

i think it might be misleading for some non-amritdharees to wear kirpaans in the case that they don't always wear it and they don't always follow rehat -- for example -- if someone wears a kirpaan and everything to some place on one day, but on the next day, they take their kirpaan off and they don't even have their head covered, they would look like any other normal person, and it could mislead people. I've seen people do that before. It's wrong because other people might think "i guess it's ok to wear kakaars only sometimes..." People might get confused into believing that kakaars can be worn sometimes, not always.. I think if you put it on once, you shouldn't take it off again

BUT, if you're an actual sehajdharee Sikh who is planning on taking Amrit soon, and you always wear your kakaars and you always have your head covered and are always following rehat, then i don't see how it's really bad.. Because in this case, you're just getting yourself used to wearing the kakaars, seeing how you're 100% sure that you're going to take Amrit soon.. But the thing is, if you're sehajdharee, you can't stay the same forever -- you can't keep on

wearing the kakaars without taking Amrit..

sorry if i'm wrong

Guruji wanted his Khalsa to be Sant-Siphais. Before we are Siphais, we must be Sants.

I feel that the Kirpan should only be worn by an Amritdhari.

That's the whole point... Sant and sipahee.. I think Amritshak concept is not to show off or neither it's some kind of permit for a person to carry 5k's etc.. Should neva think like that.. If one person want to carry 5 k's then why not take amrit? If they have soo much pyaar for 5k's and want to carry them, then why not take amrit??

Being a sipaheee (shaastar) without being the Sant (amrit) it's useless ! We talk about our brave history and how they fought in battlefield etc.. They did Jaap Wahegurooo in their Rom Rom while fighting battles.. It's not shaaster which made them to fight against odd numbers (Sava lakh).. it's the simran/gurbani!

So at end.. I think Amritdhari Sikhs should be allowed to keep Kirpan !

VERRY GOOD ANSWER!! ^_^
