How The World Began According To Sikhi?

Recommended Posts

I just wanted to know if anyone can help me answer a few questions below.

1. Has the Siri Guru Granth Sahib Ji or any of the Sikh Gurus explained how the world started?

2. Have the Gurus or the Siri Guru Granth Sahib Ji stated what the future or outcomes are for human kind?

3. Why the Gurus have forbid sikhs to cut hair from any part of their body?

I myself have been born into a sikh family, but i would not class myself as a singh or sikh for the simple reason i am not fully able follow every aspect of the sikh religion.

I am very keen to find out as much as possible before i consider taking a life changing step to become baptised.

I hope i don't offend anyone with the questions i have asked above if i do than i apoigise in advance and you don't have to answer them if you wish not to.

vahe guroo je ka khalsa

vahe guroo je ki fateh

I can answer the question of Kesh...

Its Saabat Soorat. We respect the way God made us, so we dont cut hair.

Then we have poeple asking about nails.. Sikhi is practical. If you keep nails, they tend to curve over... Making it very very hard to work with your hands.. you wont be able to touch anything with your fingertips!

Hairs all over your body help your naam kamayi.. how? Everytime you Jap Naam once, each hair does the name.. so it multiplies the effect. Therefore, it makes sense to keep hair.

it all started with ik oNkar........

basically in 1 shin god a thought...and maya was created...maya then created paun pani and bhasanter...from which the 3 chela were made....and so the play began tongue.gif ... ik - meaning ONE ...oN mean 3 chela - kar meaning continous / giving prakash to the 3 chela (brahama, vishnu, shivji) ........and the shabad that came out of vaheguru ...is also in that katha but i cant remember it ;P

i've always been told that it doesn't matter how the world started

you weren't around for it to happen, you're only here now and you only have a tiny bit of control over the present, so just worry about now, do whatever you can, and reach God...how the universe was created has no importance or relevance...it won't alter how you do your bhagti and it doesn't change that you sstill have to do everything in yur power to reach god... so i've always been told that there really is no perspective on the history...just on the present

Waheguroo jee ka Khalsa!

Waheguroo jee kee Fateh!

The shabad "arbad narbad" talks about what there was before and the initial creation of the universe. It matches very closely the big bang theory.

(It's a long shabad, so here is the link)

Waheguroo jee ka Khalsa!

Waheguroo jee kee Fateh!
