Sangat Ji.. I'm very scared at the moment and need advice

recently my partner found out that she is pregnant, she is non-sikh and I call myself a "Sikh".

We are both at Uni and are studying... We've talked about options.. I wanted to know what Guru JI says about abortion

I know i've sinned already but i'm terrified and confused about everything.

thanks for your responses in advance

Mistakes can become the best things in the world if we learn from them and face up to them. An easy option is often the wrong option for dealing with things.

Besides kids get the hell bullied out of the for all sorts of reasons, should we (for example) kill all children through abortion who are likely to be born with slight disbilities for the same reason?

You say you've talked about options, what kind of discussion was there, and what are the viable alternatives to abortion in your mind ( if at all any? )

First you made a mistake by messing around outside of marriage. Now you want to clean it all up by having an abortion and killing YOUR child that is in the womb? What mistake did that child make ? You have a duty to take care of that child. It is yours.

If you ask your gf to have an abortion I will say straight out, you are a murderer.

Please check out http://www.abort73.com/HTML/I-case.html

If you make one mistake, don't follow it up with an even bigger on.

Veer,

This is a extremely serious situation and your not going to get your answers on an internet forum. You better seriously start thinking about the future and what is best for the both of you.

Veer,

This is a very serious situation and your not going to get your answers on an internet forum. It's very easy for poeple to voice their opinions but you are the one's who will have to live with the consequences. You both better seriously start thinking and talking about the future, if you have one together or what is best for the both of you in the long term.

Brother,

Abortion is not the best of two evils, or any evils.

Abortion is not an option at all. Whether you call yourself a "Sikh" or you are trying to become one - make your decision.

The best option is not evil. It is righteousness. Why choose an evil option? As Singh132 said, why follow up one mistake with another bigger mistake?

The best option is to get paysh (go to the court of the Guru) in front of the punj pyare, ask for forgiveness and guidance, become Guru-vale by taking khande-ke-pahul amrit, get joined in an Anand Karaj, have the child, raise him/her as a Gursikh, and do seva of the Khalsa Panth.

And take all decisions with permission of the Guru, and permission of this girl with whom you have made this mistake. She will now be a "mother" and she has equal rights to make decisions as you do.

please forgive my mistakes

what if the g/f isn't willing to pursue sikhi.. and what if the g/f decides to have the abortion?... 'cause i think in the end its her call.. no?...

veerji is in a VERY difficult situation... havin pre-marital relations is one thing.. but havin them with sum1 of another vaith makes the situation that much more difficult...

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
