Fish In The Golden Temple

Is there a story behind the fish in the sacred pool of the Harminder Sahib since i heard about some fish with a gold ring on its nose that supposed to bring good luck??

Also why are there fish in the Golden temple and what type of fish are they??

2 years ago{at the end of the Kar Seva} they put in a 2 million dollar water filter to do what the fish were doing{cleaning the algae}

Now the water in the Sarovar is cleaner than our bottled water that we drink.

thr fish eat the prashad which the ppl throw little in the sarovar

i have seen them a lot in banglaa sahib too... i used to do it too..lol

I have no idea why they are there, as for the rings "apparently" some people tried fishing and those are the hooks stuck in the fish, how evilll

Its excellent there is a filter now but by throwing parshaad what people were doing before was almost suffocating the fish as it builds a layer of oil at the surface of the water preventing oxygen being in the water and fish would have to come to the surface to breathe.

Fish breathe oxygen, oxygen in the water

if we throw parshaad in and a layer of oil build up on the surface of the water, there is a lack of oxygen going into the water therefore them being unable to breathe in water aswell as they should do resulting them to staying at the surface way moer often than usual
