I was told that all 5 rivers of the greater Punjab go through Pakistan's Punjab but not all of them go through India' Punjab and that Pakistan's Punjab is over 3 times bigger than India's Punjab, if so then why is this??? why was soo much of the Sikh homeland given away???

If any was given away then it was too much given away. Its lame the Muslims get a whole country due to the Majority Muslim population and Sikhs dont get a seperate country due to the majority population.Hindus have their own country which is huge. A double standard that I cant understand

because when it comes down to fighting sikhs are number one, when it comes time for politics, our leaders do a "number two" in their pajamas. Gandhi said partition would happen over his dead body, well as usual it was good rehetoric but no bite. The congress party gave punjab away like a cheap sale at your local Walmart to Jinnah. If they had their way they probably would have given amritsar also to pakistan but i guess then our leaders said, oh wait can we keep this?

Punjab was pretty big even after partition, but then after the Muslims showed there "love" to the sikhs, our hindu brothers decided to rub salt on our wounds and disowned the punjabi language as their mother tongue. So they made Haryana which is a pretty darn big state. The whole thing is a tale of betrayals and lies, basically indian politics.

and now for the last 40 years sikhs have been fighting for chandigarh as the capital of pUnjab. most likely they will divide chandigarh amongst punjab and haryana.

well like people say on this forum, the gurus never wanted sikhs to rule a peice of land they want us to rule the whole world. good luck. if your lucky, in a few years punjab will be called IKJAB, ONE RIVER.

peace.

the partition never should have happened in the first place. Jinnah was not even a good Muslim, he drank and ate pork according to wikipedia. He hated fundamentalist psycho muslims and to top it off was a Shia muslim, who are now attacked everyday in Sunni dominated pakistan. Jinnah was actually part of the congress party and was born in gujrat and had a huge house in mumbai(still there). He had some issues with Nehru and gandhi. When talks broke down after jinnah asked for more power for muslim parties, nehru cried about secularism and jinnah was like ok, I want pakistan. So basically these old farts decided the fate of millions of people.

If partition never happned that whole area of pakistan where Osama Bin Laden is hiding would be a part of India nd the sikhs would have killed taht guy along long time ago, instead we have a lame nation in pakistan which can't control or chooses not to control its border with afghanistan.

anyways peace again.

Sikhs didn't give it to Jannah, Master Tara Singh did (a Congressi Nehru dah Poodle). Jannah asked if Master Tara Singh could meet him, and told Master Tara Singh not to get lallachi (greedy) over what Nehru 'promise to offer you' if you for not claiming Sikh Land, but Master Tara Singh ignored him and decided to follow Nehru because he didn't want to loose his 'Mill's' he had been owning in other parts of India....even after so much warning from Muslim's and the British

Jannah wanted a Khalsa State between India and Pakistan, to act as a strong armed barrier between Muslim and Hindu nation. This had benefits for both, Sikhs (as they could know claim their Khalsa Raj back) and Muslims (Pakistan did not have to worry about any Hindu's trying to attack them or 'claim' Pakistani Land back). Nehru was a kootha, he was worried that if this happened, India will starve and Sikh's will become a Superpower in Asia, and he always wanted Punjab to be ruled by Hindu's so he carried on Bribing Tara Singh...

Do not spend so much time on invisible borders. Instead work to ensure that your own borders of self-discipline and morals are strong and very much visible.

Any sikkh of Guru Nanak would consider the world entire to be their "homeland", the company of humanity to be their sangat, and the Will of God to be their bed.

who's fighting for it??? Badal and Amrinder ain't...its only the Public that are protesting for it...

Badal and Amrinder are just to busy grabing vote's for their hindu fellow's...they use events like Guru Ji's Matyrdom Samagam's for grabbing votes in the name of Guru Ji for some party that backs RSS facists or some Party that favours backs the Indian Army against Innocent Sikh's...

People say that its good that the SAD and SKD have allied, but fail to relise that the party that there voting for use SAD and SKD as a joke' to gain Sikh vote and back Hindu propoganda when they win. by the way, when you go to India and your stuck in some kind of immigration/or visa problem, try paying a visit to Badal's house and ask his wife to tell Badal to help you out...she speaks for no little than 10 Lakhs!

What people fail to understand in India is that a Sikh should be Party Less and not believe in these Proponganda's using the name of Akali or Khalsa in their parties just to get votes...

a True Singhs party is Vaheguru ji's Khalsa and nothing else...

Very well said. How can someone proclaim to be a fighter, a saint-soldier, a Khalsa... and make a Khalistan... if they can not remove from themselves the 5 theives: anger, greed, jelousy, pride/ego, attachment... who are the REAL enemies.

First, we must slay those 5, then we become the real thing... whos own body is khalistan for the soul, whos own mind has become khalistan, free from anything false... whos soul is khalsa... That khalistan is the eternal. No 5 enemies can capture it, it has the protection of the Guru. That is the Khalistan we must aquire.

Bhul chuk maf

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
