Events Of 84 A Benefit To The Sikh Religion?

Were the events of 1984 in any way benefiticical for the Sikh community???

I think that partially the answer is yes since it raised awareness of the SIkh community and many Sikhs across the globe starting keeping their hair and i know that due to the events of 84 thats why the children of my family kept their hair and without that particular event i doubt i would have kept my hair??

I also remember my RE teacher saying that after the events of 1984 many people started to keep their kesh.

They say it sometimes takes a crisis to bring families/communities together, and if there is one thing that Sikkh history is no stranger to, it's crisis.
