i thought u were makin fun of navi by saying "preety boy"! LOL.gif

but there is nothing like pind

i have lived in both city and pind..

to tellu the truth... pinds are best to breath fresh air...and jus be one with teh nature(yup im a nature freeek!!) lol

i miss it so much!

to reply to the pathiyaan post..

yup been there done that... and gotten laughed at and also got juttiyan and some slap.gif for doing that...lol

its fun all of u should try it...i was young! i wish i coulddo that..why do the serventz have the privlage to do all that fun stuff? (thz how i used to think whn i was there')

one time me and cousins put it on our hands thinking it was Mehndi... LOL.gif (we was young!...hey they both look the same when u 6-7yrs old and odnt know where mehandi comes from... rolleyes.gif )

so anyone of u have milked a cow or any other domestic animal? :@ or got kicked by um? kool.gif

penji u are right pinds are best to breath fresh air and to eat fresh food. not only this also in pinds we can get pure dud ( milk )

LOL.gif Hope this doesn't turn into a pinds vs city debate! LOL.gif

But guys I felt so dirty there when I went. Like my shoes had all this "crud" from humans and animals on it. And I got all dusty. And..and all I smelled was fumes from a cow's exhaust. Fresh air? Yeah, from oxygen tank no.gifno.gif

yarr toon pind di jindge nu apne shoes naal compare kardan. veer ji u may get some dust in pinds par yaar othon di jindgeay da mukabla kisay hor chiz naal nahi kar sakda. Last year when i came to usa, i c the life of usa is only for money, nothing else. par pindan vich lok paisay nalon ik dujay di help karan nu vadiya samjday naey.

Ive lived in pind but i never get used to the fact that they use cow poo for energy. @ @ @ wacko.gif

I prefer living in city than pind :@

veer just saying go to pind with ur friends and c how much u will enjoy. maybe u don't now that they use pathiyan for energy because ur pind is kind of modernize.haha :)

did you guys know that people do joke about it (the city vs pendo thing?)..."ah shehri jihaa"(city boy/girl)...

and sure peope also say "pendu na howaye tan" to those whom to the otehrs dont look too modren!

they usually say pind people are innocent, downto earth, really sweeettt and caring .... they would do anything for anyone without a questions...

anyhow tthings have changed in both cities and pinds.... its al so different! no.gif

but in pinds the thing is you know everyone from one end to the other...where as in cities it really diffcult unless u have been lving there since the city was small!

anyhow singh-khalsa ji you are rigt...

i miss the fresh food, fresh makhaan, lasssiii

the manjaaa, peedyeez, water from the nalka or moter(now these days), swings in the summer under the pippal, or bow-haar.... clibing on the trees(tell me where in teh city u can do that? lol), running in the feilds, the particuler smell after the first rain,

gettin yelled by anyone who sees u doing something u are not suppose to be doing rolleyes.gif:) ur parents rarly said much, but one was more afraid of chach jis, tyiya jis, all the bhajis, and bhanjis (everyone in pind is(was) related to u somehow....so its a big family and u are well protected as well as had to be really sneeeky to do the crazy things..lol). u could go to anyones house and u were to be taken care off...its jus was soo different) i dont know how it is now...but like i said before, it has changed

one reason could be....beause most of the people from pinds are in the west, so no ones really there. and those in the pinds (the youth) feels like they not modren enough, and some times are made fun of by the ways they behave comapre to CITYYYYY PEOPLE! no ones there to tell them that their wayz the best no matter what US shahriz say LOL.gif WE ARE JUS JEALOUS cuz we dont understand them and wana be like thm! grin.gif or would be jealous of we knew the rootz

(know that this is jus my opnion and not solid FACTS so please no debates...this post is jus for fun and to refresh old memoriez)

Born and raised in city of baroda, bombay and amritsar.. i can tell theres no way that we can compare pind life with city life. I know most of the cities life around the world :)

City is usually full of pollution (air, water, noise), kaam, kroodh everything.. While pind are always in peace, fresh air and all these cows and its poo poo.. well brother you gotta live with the nature !! In City you get old polluted fruits, vegetables, milk etc.. while in pind you eat everything fresh.. Villagers health cannot be compared with city ppls.. They are 10X much stronger than weak city ppls. All villagers do hard physical work (men in fields and women @ home) while city women is glued to TV cable serials.

We just simply can't compare residents of city with villagers of punjab.

LOL.gif I feel like an <banned word filter activated> for starting this. I'm very sorry. blush.gif It sounds like you had a great time and that's all that counts. I didn't mean to put the pind down. Reading what you wrote makes me want to also have some fun in the pind, too. I had no right to say what I said and I feel very ashamed of myself. no.gif

bro thats nice to see roads in pinds. when i lived in punajb there were no roads made yet, I call my cousins in punjab now they say they a public swinmming pool at the pind, before the swimming pool was made we used goto bambi's(pani wali motor) and play around. We used to play kabaddi and there were many fights at our pind and it was kind of a entertainment for us. Many fights were for simple reason but they would fight after they drink daru. Man I still remember many fights, gadassa, kirpana. It was crazy, During sant jee's time we had 2 motorcycle's in our village and now we have maruti's and unlimited motorcycles. The only problem in our area is the youth doesn't want to study, they want to come to foreign and they are getting haircuts, watching porno movies or messing with bibia. Life is changing in villages and many are coming back to sikhi but many are leaving sikhi. Now days you will barely see sikh naujwans at a khet(jameen), the old or the bihari's are workin on our lands. The youth wants to sell their land to get money for a foreign trip.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
