Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Ji Mentioned As A Terrorist

Recommended Posts

Now i think its probably the same thing as this below news article from same year mentioned Guru tegh bahadur sahib ji.. Sikhism and Sikh history have been distorted and subverted in high school text books prepared by National Council on Education, Research and Training (NCERT)

-----------------------------

With the Sikh community taking strong exception to some alleged "misrepresentation of facts" in its history books, NCERT has decided to get these portions checked by a well-known scholar and historian. NCERT's decision has come following a letter to its Director Krishna Kumar last week by Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh, who had received a memorandum from Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), saying certain references to Sikh history was "hurting the sentiments of the community."
The memorandum was presented to Singh by DSGMC during the minister's recent visit to the Gurdwara appealing him to direct NCERT to get these references checked by former Vice-Chancellor of Guru Nanakdev University in Amritsar, Prithpal Singh Kapur.
"We have a Sikh scholar as the member of our panel which approves the matters in history textbooks. Now we will be sending the references on the Sikh history to Prof Kapur, as demanded by DSGMC and mentioned in the minister's letter," highly placed sources in NCERT said.
"There are certain misrepresentation of facts in the existing text books. This hurts the sentiments of the Sikh community. We had demanded the texts to be ratified by Prof Kapur," DSGMC President Harvinder Singh Sarna informed.
The earlier text books, which have been replaced now, had also a lot of misrepresentations of facts on Guru Teg Bahadur, Sarna alleged.
However, NCERT spokesman Ashish Bahad said whatever alleged misrepresentations there were in the earlier books have now been deleted and the new lot of Council's books do not have these portions.
NCERT has introduced new textbooks in five classes from this year including those for class I, III, VI and IX.

...a few years ago Guru Tegh Bahadur ji was mentioned like a plunderer in one of the history book of NCERT and now its turn of Guru Gobind Singh ji in NCERT grade XII book. The news below further proves the fact how watchful we have to be. Thanks to the people who noted this blunder and raised their voices.
NCERT to replace para on Sikh Guru

New Delhi, November 10, 2006
Following the objections raised by Sikh organisations against “objectionable” references to their Guru, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has decided to replace a paragraph on Guru Gobind Singh in its history textbook for class XII.
The NCERT decided to replace the paragraph in the book, Modern India, written by Prof Bipan Chandra, according to a circular issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
The paragraph in the book says, “Bahadur Shah had tried to conciliate the rebellious Sikhs by making peace with Guru Gobind Singh and giving him a high mansab.
But when, after the death of the Guru, the Sikhs once again raised the banner of revolt in Punjab under the leadership of Banda Bahadur, the emperor decided to take strong measures and himself led a campaign against the rebels.”
It will be replaced by a new paragraph now, which will read: “In the early eighteenth century the Sikhs once again raised the banner of revolt in Punjab. They did so first under the leadership of Guru Gobind Singh and after his death under Banda Bahadur. The emperor, Bahadur Shah, decided to take strong measures and himself led a campaign against the rebels.”

The letter alleges that N.C.E.R.T.'s class (grade) XI history book in a chapter on a 'Mediaeval India' mentions on page 125 that Guru Nanak Dev 'renounced' the world - a complete misrepresentation of Sikhism and against the first Sikh Guru's teachings of grahist jiwan (family life).
Prof. Badungar also pointed out that in another instance on the same page the Sikh revolt has been described as a 'Hindu movement

Mohandas Gandhi called Guru Gobind Singh ji 'misguided' in creating the Khalsa. If it was not for the Khalsa, India would have been Muslim by now. Gandhi is called father of the nation in India despite his perverted sexual behaviour and promotion of caste and attacks on other religions.
