A person can be still maintain there own culture and language, and still learn sikhi. Thats what it should be - anyone in the world should be able to enter a sikhi temple and learn sikhi in there own language, and also not feel like they are a minority. that is what siki should be - a true global religion.

Sadly Nagar Kirtans have become just a socialising event (and an event where a few committee wale can get some funding form local council).

Just look what happed on dudley road in wolverhampton last year, the after party event was what most the youngsters turned up for. Links to the videos were posted and it was sad to see some idiots wearing kurta with Khanda on them drinking, dancing and there were even a few fights.

Is it not time these Nagar Kirtan were curtailed. They are not doing the Panth any good. If anything they attract anti social elements whos idea of what they can do during a Nagar Kirtan is just yob behaviour.

These girls who were dressed as if they were going to a daytime club had the flag and were waving it about-with no chuni or headcovering on thier heads.When i asked several girls to cover thier head and show some respect i was blanked,not until i said to one of the girls 'then you complain muslims rape and convert you ' did one girl come to her senses and covered her head and apologised by saying'sorry bhaji i did not mean to shw disrespect ',the rest of the girls walked off .Not only in the park did i see this but i saw several girls holidng the flags near thier feet while they were strolling along and no elder dared say nuffink to them,several girls were drunk and a few boys were smoking the odd ciggerette here and there so all in all this nagar keertan was a bad day for me only highlite was guru ji nuffink else.

Here we go again, the same old story from none other than INKLAND. :D Seriously man, you guys really need to do something about it there. I always thought England was a good country for Sikhs, to come to think of it, it actually is a really good country for Sikhs to live and prosper in, but the so called "Sikhs" of that country are the most ridiculous people I have ever seen.

I am actually surprised, England seems to have some Chardi Kalaa Sikhs as well, even people that are on here, how come you guys don't talk to Gurdwara Sahib, broadcast it on the local radio channels of Punjabi programs, glue it to the television on the Punjabi programs. You guys need to take action seriously. You can't just sit there, and expect things to happen. Take action, there are so many Khalistani in England, wheres all the pyar people?!?

My fellow Canadian homie, actually in British Columbia there are issues that need to be addressed as well. It makes me sad as well, that Canada would have such things, but the reality is to some extene we are kind of in the same situation, but in other means. Over there, they do religious beadbi in England, in Canada they are just simple out Notorious. We have enough Singhs and "Punjabi" in gangs in Canada, not to mention the amount of drugs, and alochol dealing these guys do. It actually really ticks me off that because I would never expect it from Canada, but to tell you the truth. It seems to be getting better, government is starting to tackle the problem from its' root. Its' not perfect, but hopefully in the future, it looks promising. Now, do I think that this is a major issue in Canadian Sikhs, absoutely not because those few peopple don't reflect the Sikhs of Canada. Yes, Canada Sikhs to have problems, but which countries don't?? Look at the positives of Canadian Sikhs. If they are few messed up people, Canada also has a lot of Chardi Kalaa Gursikhs as well. Not to mention, if Pakis here messed up us, or started <admin-profanity filter activated>, I ain't even joking there get their faces bashed in from Singhs. Pakis here know their limits with Singhs, and they know not to cross them, as well as other people. The rest of the provinces look good, but BC has a couple of Gang related problems.
