what do you guys think, when you see a mona..

do u shake your head?

do u give htem less respect?

do u want to talk to them?

so u NOT want to talk to them

please dont judge the topic..maybe some monas will understand after reading this...

(this topic was on another sikhi site and it helped A LOT of people i know who were mona and nonmona)

It shouldn't matter what people think about you or monas in general. If these so called "Gursikhs" talk **** about you or monas in general, then just simply ignore them or get them a reality check if you know what I mean. :D

I dont think all members of SS are keshdhari... plus ive met many monas who are way more religious than some of the so called kesh dhari Sikhs ive met, infact its the mona type Sikhs who have mostly helped me and inspired me to become a better Sikh...just because you been brought up to keep your hair doesnt make you any more religious/better than mr.x who hasnt! In fact ive mostly felt intimadated and looked down upon by keshdharis until 'recently' when i started to feel more comfortable and became more 'spiritually'/religiously aware. :TH:

Just because a few Patits inspired you, it doesn't mean that is always the case. Its' ususally the Patits that leave the Singhs to be outcasted. Calling Singhs "Gianis" and all that BS. You don't see Singhs going around calling Patits "Rode" or something. The fact of the matter is, they are Patits and intill they don't follow Guru Gobind Singh's way they cannot be Sikh. I don't know why they feel so bad, when we tell them to keep their hair, they know what they doing are wrong. Oh yeah, they can jaap naam, and do seva but when it comes to keeping the identity they don't want to have to do anything with Sikhi, why the double standards? Either do it or don't. Don't be a Sikh Wannabe. rolleyes.gif

yup i dont like this hypocrisy either. if u have taken amrit and cut ur kesh, i believe it is very wrong as when u take it, uve made a prpmise to guru gobind singh ji to be a pure and good person following the 5 k's, and you will be under his protection in the society of his khalsa. i dunno about sikh girls with hair on their face, but the gurus grew their beards and kept the hair on their heads so thats the least guys can do.

got TONS of non-amritdhari/non-sikh friends.. love them !!! i dun hate any one of them but rather love them in return and give them that sangat that MAYBE they are lacking in their life !

what are the reasons they mite not be in sikhi? family not into sikhi? friends not into sikhi?

everyone needs the rite sangat sometimes so BE that positive individual amongst ALL your friends and DO NOT look down at them .. ALWAYS love them .. ALWAYS share your experiences with them.. dun let them feel that your doing that to get them into sikhi .. let them figure that out themselves and ONLY if guru saahib does kirpa on them they will maybe one day become sikhs of our guru!

i have seen many .. guru jis kirpaa naal .. that have changed wit amritdhari sikhs being positive influences in their life..

my best friend is a mona .. hes been help at times when i needed him the most and all the other times .. known him even before i got into sikhi and use to cut my hair back in the day so he has seen me change .. so he saw me go through the change and every day ive known him he has ONLY encouraged me into sikhi... :D

so lets not judge and rather look at our own sins we may do everyday .. lets all learn to love and respect each other .. vahegurooo pray.gif

what puratan singhs use to say about monas who claim to be singhs ....

if ur a mona doing naam nitname naam jaap .... then ur equal to a kessadhari singh doing naam jaap and nitname and is also visiting prostitutes ....

there are 4 kuritiyan and all are equal .... u cut hairs or visit prostitues or consume jagat jhoot or eat halal ....

think it other way .... do u think guru wants a mona singh ????

^ Exactly. Guru Gobind Singh does not want anyone to come in front of him if they do not have KESH. Also, when its' time for your judgment, and Kalgidhar Patshah asks you why you did not keep hair, what are you going to say? Oh, my head hurt too much, I can't get a job, and all that BS. rolleyes.gif Do you think that will go with Guru Gobind Singh?! HELLLLLLL NO!

But to be on a positive side, I have seen that most youth that are not into Sikhi want to grow their hair, and be keshadari but the only place they get discouragement from is their families. I can't believe there are families out there that don't encourage Sikhi Saroop. There was a time where mothers would rather have their sons/daughters bodies cut limb by limb rather than cutting their kesh, and here we are were no one even cares about Sikhi but money. rolleyes.gif You ain't going to take money with you when you leave Dharti Maa, you will take your Karma, and Sikhi though.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
