True, if visitng it. But in history and the word themselves in the SGGS state no idol worship.

If the Sindhs were influenced by Baba Nanak, did they not learn of his preaching of idol worship? Clearly not!

To the poster who said it could be the Geeta, It can't be, it's not treated in the same manner, romalla etc etc

These issues are just like the trouble leaves of one tree.. They are of course important but we have to stress/focus on the evil roots of the whole tree. Issues like this will be coming over and over and will continue to do unless we shake the pull out the root problem. I think we need to figure out the Jaar (root) behind such cases. How we can identify the Jarr/root ?.. i think that point we should discuss yeh?

To Pakandi Baba - I agree with everything you say, but one question to you no offense, is why do stress over everything. Bringing small topics like this into the forefront what will it do, probably nothing.

WELL TOO LATE I'M OFENDED!!.... :)

It is the duty as Sikhs to highlight such matters. - We may not resove anything, but does that mean we should brush it under the carpet veer/bhain ji?

It's good to sing hymns of hte Guru's as I said orginally. but not with Guru ji presnt amongst pattar ki murti.

HOW can we say we're Sikh when we turn a blind eye to such behaviour when it's written in our SGGS CONDMNMING SUCH acts! - Would we say to Guru j, well we didn't know, shrugging our shoulders of he asked us?!

Well said. We also have to sometimes look at whether someone’s intent is malicious or just confusion. In many cases it’s the latter.

If the core-centre is operating dysfunctionaly then it makes it more difficult to implement any functionality on the outside.

we have idols all around us wherever we go. So your saying that in your house you dont have ornaments in the very house that you keep you gutke? Plus in the days of our beloved gurus they met hindus from all denominations who were all idol worshipers yet they still managed to recieve audience of maharaj. *EDITED*, so what if there are idols there, in india every pind has a mandir where murti pooja happens so are you saying that a gurudwara shouldnt be built in the same pind, see from one extreme to the other. Just relax, naam japo, kirt karo, who cares, did anyone do apmaan of maharaj, wasnt maharaj sat in a takht and palki with chaur sahib, wasnt there a sewadaar tending to maharaj? so why r u ppl *EDITED*, live and let live, thats what our gurus did. Akali Nihung Guru Gobind Singh Ji could have ordered all mandirs to be demolished back in the day but no, he had respect for people and their beliefs. I think our todays sangat needs to follow that very example!

Could not say it my self any better! Well done! Excellent post on this thread so far! Akal dhi ghal kithi! d_oh.gif :TH:

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
