THE ADVENT OF KALYUG BEGAN WITH THE PANDAVS (MAHABARAT WAS THE END OF DWAPUR) GOING TO HEMKUNT SAHIB TO DO SIMRAN AS A FORM OF REPENTANCE FOR THE SIN OF DEICEITFULLY KILLING THEIR RELATIVES AND FRIENDS AND GURU(S). THE PANDAVS GAVE THE RAAJ OF INDIA TO THEIR GRANDSON, WHO WAS A DHARMI RAJA. ONE DAY KALJUG CAME TO HIM AND SAID THAT ''CAN I HAVE SOME SPACE TO LIVE, INSIDE THE BOUNDARIES OF YOUR RAAJ ?''. THUS A LONG CONVERSATION BEGAN BETWEEN THE DEMON KALJUG AND THE DHARMI RAJA AND SLOWLY THE RAJA REALISED THAT THIS DEMON IS BAD FOR MY RAAJ AND SAID TO KALJUG THAT YOU CANNOT STAY INSIDE THE BOUNDARIES OF MY RAAJ. KALJUG THEN BECAME ANGRY AND SAID TO THE RAJA THAT I WILL BLEND MY SELF AND MY EVIL ATTRIBUTES KAAM, KRODH, LOBH, MOH, AHANKAR INTO GOLD. WHOEVER SHOULD WEAR A GOLD BANGLE OR ANY OTHER FORM OF GOLD WILL BE AFFECTED BY MY EVIL ATTRIBUTES AND I SHALL HAVE CONTROL OVER HIM.

GURU GOBIND SINGH JI MAHRAJ HAVING KNOWLEDGE OF THIS HISTORY OF GOLD JEWELERY REJECTED GOLD AND DECIDED TO GIVE HIS KHALSA SARABLOH JEWELERY:KIRPANA, NAKEH KAREH,GAJGEH,CHAKAR,SHASTAR,CHAND,TOREH ETC AND SARABLOH GRANTH. KATHA OF THE METAL SARABLOH IS HUGE, BUT TWO IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE IS THAT THE SARABLOH KARA GETS RID OF AAD, BYAAD AND UPAAD THESE ARE THREE TYPES OF DISASTERS/ BAD THINGS HAPPENING THAT AFFECT THE HUMAN BEING. SECONDLY THE SARBLOH KARA GIVES YOU THE PROTECTION AND BLESSINGS OF AKAAL PURKH.

NOW YOU CHOOSE WHICH ONE IS BETTER !!!!

to be honest i dont beleive that demons exist let alone that some reside in gold jewellery. i think this story could be a metaphor maybe saying gold is bad because it represents greed or some thing?

Any other opinions about the use of gold kara??

bhul chak maff {if i have offended anyone}

pandu poutra was called Maharaja Parikshit, and when Maharaja Parikshit gave kaljug permision to reside within gold, he saw that the raja was wearing a gold mukut (crown) and basically began to reside with in his mukut and polluted his mind, due to him wearing the mukut he was passing a sadhus home, and the sadhu was in deep tap,seeing this he demanded water with arrogance, when he saw that the sadhu didnt reply he saw a dead snake and put it round his neck. When the sadhus son found out that the raja did such apmaan of his father, he cursed him that he would die seven days from thereon by the fiery poison of a snake. and when he died kalyug began.

For the record, I think a gold kara is crap. I wear a sarbloh one to help remind me to be real and strong. However, I found the following in Siques, Tigers or Thieves written by Madra and Singh. Seems like wearing a gold kara is nothing knew. The following was written about Sikh warriors by one of the earliest goray in the Punjab. I think they were talking about nihungs when they wrote the following.

"They abhor smoking of Tobaco, for what reason I cannot find, but intoxicate themselves freely with either spirits or bang; a cup of the last they seldom fail taking at night after a fatigue. Their dress is extremly scanty, a pair of blue drawers, a kind of chequered plaid worn partly around the middle and partly around the shoulder with a mean blue turban.....

Their chiefs are distinguished by having some heavy gold bracelets on their wrists and sometimes a chain of the same metal around their turbans and by being mounted on better horses, otherwise no distinction appears amongst them."

Antoine Louis Henri Polier in a paper read on December 20, 1787.
