Does langar mean only eating food together or it has deep spirtual meaning

I pondered over it and realised atleast two of its Signifiance

Firstly : It meant that that we are all born equal by the almighty

Secondly : It meant that we must share all we have in our possession

I want to know two things

1 ) are there any more significance of langar

2 ) Is only food to be shared or every thing else say like wealth , knowledge

3 ) Does Guruji in our Langar want his children to be fed only once or several time or life long or he had in his mind to make individual indeependent to earn their own livelihood

Pondering Khalsa

Gurfatehji,

Langar is *free kitchen* was introduced with a view to :

- unite every one eating out of the same kitchen.. like brothers

- to feel one and feel humble in the one-ness

- this was introduced by our Gurus to be continued

- given todays circumstances / finances and to top it all.. the spirit (that is not so giving these days), it can be continued if each one of us is determined to make our humble contributions to Guru's kosh. For instance, Gurudwara Bangla Saahib in Delhi hosts langar CONSTANTLY.. we all need to have the spirit and the will to do all this in such a big way..

Bhul chuk maaf karni ji!
