In Kirtan Sohila you got a part where its sandalwood is talked about being used, basically its a nice smell - if it helps you concentrate go ahead and use it but its not nessecary!!

Please correct me if i am wrong here. Sandalwood thats has been mentioned here is not the modern day incense, its is the one from the sandalwood tree. Guru Ji has presented the mahima of nature here, how nature itself does aarti for Waheguru. This is what i have thought all the time. Do correct me on this one.

woooooow i just read this topic and from what its started from and what it has ended up as are two different things..........lol.............imagine if we put as much effort into our nitnem and bani as we do in arguing our points across, the world would only have gursikhs..........lol

thats a lie. NO WHERE IN ANY BANI does it say that dhoof is necessary. Dhoof is a hindu essence thing, just as the same with Joh'th. In the prane'h jamane'h our Sikh used to use the Joh'th to see in the dark (no electricity) but today we use it emhi!!! hindu'h di rees karde'h hai.

dont use them dhoof etc dont need it, as for the Joh'th some Sikh's do it like when there's a Akhand Paat or something, some use it by puttin one on in rememberance of our Vude'h (Shaheeds etc)

basically man its emhi forget it!!!!
