I heard some of this Sants vibes in an audio, it was quality stuff. Down to earth, open and accessible as is needed in these times to reach the youth.

Guest Amarjeet.

The saint has the world at his feet, they bow to him without his wish. I personally had a chance to meet with Sant Baba Jagjeet Singh Ji Harkhowal Wale when he came to New Zealand this year. People bowed to him without his consent and he stopped them. When he was going the entire sangat bowed to him at the airport and he kept on walking backwards to not let them touch his feet. Although I cannot remember now I am sure he told us to not bow to anyone but Guru Granth Sahib Jee. People say Sikhs are declining but with Saints like Baba Ji that is proving to be a lie. I will also like to tell u that Baba Ji's katha attracted the sangat and they made an offering of 10,000 dollars to him which he refused. That my friends is a true saint. We should not argue about him but listen to him. Gur fateh Ji.

I would bow to sant baba jagjit singh a million times, not them as a person but the bhandaar of knowledge that they are and they always tell me off saying "why do you touch my feet etc"... but I will do it time and time again, not because I think they are my Guroo, or the level of my Guroo, but because ultimately, inside them all I see is my Guroo.

to whom who r saying that we should not bow to sants

In gurbani it is mentioned and ordered numerous of times to bow to the feet of God's humble servent, God's conscious ( Bhrahamgyani), gurmukhs, sants, saadh jans.

Jin Jan Apanaa Prabhoo Pashhaathaa ||

Those humble beings who recognizes God

So Jan Sarab Thhok Kaa Dhaathaa ||

Are the givers of all things.

This Kee Saran Sarab Sukh Paavehi ||

In His Sanctuary, all comforts are obtained.

This Kai Dharas Sabh Paap Mittaavehi ||

By the Blessing of His Darshan, all sins are erased.

Avar Siaanap Sagalee Shhaadd ||

So renounce all other clever devices,

This Jan Kee Thoo Saevaa Laag ||

And enjoin yourself to the service of those servants.

Aavan Jaan N Hovee Thaeraa ||

Your comings and goings shall be ended.

Naanak This Jan Kae Poojahu Sadh Pairaa ||8||17||

O Nanak, worship the feet of God's humble servants forever. ||8||17||

Raag Gauri Sukhmanee Guru Arjan Dev

Pretty Clear in the above ashtpadi from Sri Sukhmani Sahib that Guru Arhun Dev Sahib ji Maharaj ji ordering to serve the feet of servants of Waheguru.

There is another interesting pankti from a Shabad I also do kirtan of which is

So Guramukh Naam Japiaa Vaddabhaagee Thin Nindhak Dhusatt Sabh Pairee Paaeae ||

Very fortunate and blessed is that Gurmukh who chants the Naam; it shall bring all slanderers and wicked enemies to fall at his feet.

Naanak Naam Araadhh Sabhanaa Thae Vaddaa Sabh Naavai Agai Aan Nivaaeae ||15||

O Nanak, worship and adore the Naam, the Greatest Name of all, before which all come and bow. ||15||

Pretty clear that Gurmukhs who chant NAME, even their slanders and enimies come and fall at their feet. So it is not a surprise that an ordinary person who has faith in gurbani will bow to sant/saadh jans/ gurmukhs and brahamgyanies.

This is the name which makes everyone bow to the feet of the one who chant name.

Reposting the pangti from the first ashpadi from sukhmani shaib

Avar Siaanap Sagalee Shhaadd ||

So renounce all other clever devices,

This Jan Kee Thoo Saevaa Laag ||

And enjoin yourself to the service of those servants.

we really need to give up the cleverness and smartness as guru sahib suggesting in the same context. Because Guru Sahib knew that there will be people like you who will act smart and try to say something what you are saying therefore Guru Sahib wrote it very clearly that just give up those smartnesses and serve the Lord's lovers.

I know your point is "do not bow anyone except Guru Grant Sahib Ji" which is true but it does not litrelly mean anyone. It means do not bow anyone like you bow to GURU SAHIB. We usually give respect to our elders by touching their feet in our tradition which is also called pairreen hath lana. This is not same as bowing to Guru Sahib.

Bowing to sant jans is what Gurubani orders so do not try slandering these mahapurashs because you will end up falling at their feet.

Salok Ma 4 ||

Great is the greatness of the Guru, who meditates on the Lord within.

By His Pleasure, the Lord has bestowed this upon the Perfect True Guru; it is not diminished one bit by anyone's efforts.

The True Lord and Master is on the side of the True Guru; and so, all those who oppose Him waste away to death in anger, envy and conflict.

The Lord, the Creator, blackens the faces of the slanderers, and increases the glory of the Guru.

As the slanderers spread their slander, so does the Guru's glory increase day by day.

Servant Nanak worships the Lord, who makes everyone fall at His Feet. ||1||

Jinaa Pashhaathaa Sach Chunmaa Pair Moon ||3||

Those who recognize the True Lord - I kiss their feet. ||3||

Aapae Sathigur Mael Sukh Dhaevai Aapanaan Saevak Aap Har Bhaavai ||

He Himself causes us to meet the True Guru, and blesses us with peace. His servant is pleasing to the Lord.

He Himself preserves the honor of His servants; He causes others to fall at the feet of His devotees.

Raag Bihaagrhaa Guru Amar Das

So behold the glorious greatness of the Lord, O Saints; the Lord blesses the dishonored with honor.

As dust rises from underfoot, O Nanak, so does the Lord make all people fall at the feet of the Holy. ||4||1||12||

Raag Suhi Guru Ram Das Ang:735 Line: 7

Hope everything is clear with Guru's Mat.

how many times does it say in bani...we should bow to those true humble saints....we've been here countless times in the past on sikhsangat.....when bani quotes get thrown in the faces of those that think different...they just seem to ignore it and think they are still right.....i can see that about to happen here

im sorry to say this......but those that think you shudn't bow to sants......either dont read bani or if they do they dont understand it

The problem with Sikhs is that they bow down to the wrong people. A politician, science prof, philosphy prof, etc is who they bow down too. The science prof. says something and the Sikh is on the move to fullfill his duty. Then these Sikh parents have not taught any better to their kids.

If Sikhs would learn to bow down with their minds to Satguru, then Sikhs would learn bowing to Satguru's Saints is not wrong. Every Sikh says they got Sikhi down right. No one wants to listen to the Satguru's Saints these days. If you ask these 50 year old Sikhs how much their Sikh parents and grandparents used to listen to Saints, then the problem would be solved. When a dog doesn't know where it's home is, then it barks in every direction to chase after the 5 vices.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
