My brother is gone be playing cricket at school, anyway he said he wont wear a helmet so I just wanted to ask what do others do when they've played at school.

In my days we just ducked… haha, anyhow he has to get the face guard anyone know where I can get that?

I used to play cricket back home, never wore a helmet and fortunately never got hit by those hard leather balls. If he thinks he can play without the helmet then it should be fine. Some of my teammates wore a parna(small turban) underneath the helmet.

NO NO NO NO, dont let him bat without a helmet man. those fast bowlers can really throw the circket ball at your face at phenominal speed and it hurts like hell when you get hit. i'm speaking from experience, could also be fatal actually.

does he have a big jura? if so, i guess he can do like 2 of jurey and wear a slightly bigger helmet :@ or if he's comortable enough, do a lil gut and let it hang at the back of his neck, put a big rumaal on to cover it :TH:

Personally I never wanted to use halmet when I played, let it be cricket or baseball... n don't remember if I ever did... but looking back and seeing that I did have bleedy nose at times n some friend kinda lost front 2 teeth coz he felt the same about halmet tongue.gif ...

So I wouldn't suggest playing without a halmet... specially when you are up against a pacer with a hard ball... mann that can do lot more damage than u can imagine...

If your bro is concerned about wearing a halmet coz of patka or pagg, it for his own protection, that face guard won't help at all times... There are certain situations were its better to comply...den to be sorry... but it all ends up at the extent of ur complement

From sikhi point of view isn't helmet a topi??? if yes isn't it banned for sikhs??. But in cricket i feel there is no substitute for helmet, last summer i escaped literally a skull fracture when i tried marillier shot to a fast bowler which didnt come off as i wanted and ball hit my helmet straight off the bat. It was scary man. Thanx helmet!!!!

this is what i do and i play cricket, i have a joora aswell, i put the hair back and wear my patka as a bandana over it which keeps the hair in check and doesnt let it fly across your face, the thing is if you stick the helmet right over your joora the metal grill will sit higher therefore exposing your chin and the back of your head, until the age of 18 it is compulsory for cricketers to wear helmets
