I don't understand you Bibi'ya. Why do you choose to tie a small Dastaar? grin.gif

I know bare Bibi'ya that tie Dhumalla-h without wanting to make it small. Serious check out KarKirpaWaheguru, her Dhumalla-h looks oh so soh-na man. Your supposd to feel proud having a Dhumalla-h on your head!

I don't think tying an extremely large or fancy Dastaar will make you a better person. Some of the most Gurmukh people in the last 100 years, have tied small or 'messy' Dastaars.

Neither have I quite understood the need for people to tie excessively large Dastaars, some people tend to go on about Nihang traditions, etc, even though the current Jathedar of Buddha Dal himself has said the Dumala should not be too large, you will see many Nihangs in India have small Dumaleh. I do not see the practicality in a very large Dastaar - and I fail to understand why Bibiya in western countries would want to tie a huge Dastaar on a daily basis considering every Puratan painting or photograph showing a woman with a Dastaar, has a small one, in the traditional style as still worn in India.

It's not really about keski size, but I think it's funny how we try making our Joora smaller these days. I am a Sikh woman with a Dastar and do the same thing. Not to make my dastar smaller but to shape it. I still think it's funny that we do this though, as Puratan Sikhs clearly had high bungas (just take a look at Baba Deep Singh ji's Dumala shaster, they range from huge chakkars to tiny chakkars for the top of the bunga).

It's kind of funny how we're doing the opposite thing with our jooras now, lol. I can't blame anyone cause I do it myself but I really wish I didn't have to. Dastar power, Dastar pride.
