I'd recommen "In Search of the True Guru" (punjabi version- "Roop Gobind Ka, Raj Khalsey Ka, Sika Soney Ka") by Bhai Rama Singh Jee

Its an awesome book. i haven't finished reading it all yet, but so far, its reallyyy wicked. Reading bhai Rochak Malang's summaries themselves are awesome, just think what the book itself would be like..

unditthi duniya, rangle sajjan, jail chitthiyaan, anhad shabd dasam dwwar by bhai randhir singh are AWESOME literature.

bijai singh and sundri by vir singh jee is nice and very inspiring.

other books .... i like chicken soup for the soul....all series.... cuz its so inspiring and heartwarming...can never get enough of reading them ;)

simulacra and simulation by jean baudrillard is a fairly worthy read. alt. it barely seems related to godliness, it gives a new perspective on life...which is worthwhile. :(

Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

Just wrote a long reply, only for it to be erased when i accidently hit the wrong button lol.

Anyway two books which I found really inspiring are NON SIKH`S VIEW ON THE EXCELLENCE OF SIKHISM by Sarup Singh Alag, more commonly known as Excellence of Sikhism and Sikhism: A Faith for the Modern Man by Sikh Missionary College, Ludhiana.

Another book which is good but not quite great is Hair Power by Sarup Singh Alag. All of his books are distributed free, and are available in both english and punjabi i think. Although they might not be so easy to get your hands on outside of india.

As for books available to download online, Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh's short books are good, and so are the articles on www.gurmatps.org but most of these are really short. There's a good collection on http://www.sikhi.org.uk/. I haven't ready of the books but I have heard good things about some of them. Especially The Buddhist Princess, and "The Way of the Saffron Cloud".

If you visit that site and click on the articles, by length link you'll find a range of publications available to read or download online. Smaller articles are at the top of the list while the bigger books are at the bottom of the page. You may want to view the article index by author or something else.

I just downloaded these pdf files which were around 500k in size.

The Way of the Saffron Cloud by Dr. Kulwant Singh 177 pages

Prakasina - The Buddhist Princess by Prof. Puran Singh 121 pages

and The Si

kh Religion by Sikh Missionary Center, USA 251 pages ISBN: 0-9625383-0-2

Another book which I recently spent 20 something dollars on at borders is

WORLD SCRIPTURE: A Comparative Anthology of Sacred Texts. So far what I've read I've found pretty good. It's pretty interesting to learn how much in common all the scriptures have. This book can't be downloaded but the chapters can be read online at http://www.unification.net/ws/
